  1. ok sorry about being a little short, but there have been a lot of stupid questions lately, and sometimes innocent ones get put in the same basket. awkws are better, because if you disengaged the fronts on a R32 GTR with 300awkw you'd end up with 320rwkw - 330rwkw. BUT you'd also lose 35% of your traction. You have the hardware, simply get someone that can tune and crank her up to 350awkw and run some 10's
  2. you seriously don't know that answer to that?
  3. Just a quick one guys. Mate has blown his head gasket and needs a new one. He's asking me if he needs a 1.2mm, 1.5mm, or 1.8mm. (he's buying aftermarket) I don't like lowering compression too much because you get bad fuel economy and poor off boost power. anyway - can anyone tell me what the standard head gasket thickness is, and how much each head gasket above would drop the compression? Also bare in mind that he's buying a 2835 HKS kit soon, so maybe factor that in. Thanks Jono
  4. trust me, 300awkw in a GTR and 300rwkw in a GTS-T are two very different things..
  5. well, I checked the R33 (SII) and it had 14.4 volts at the pump
  6. mine was ok, just ran out of flow. Remember the ratings - Walboro 255 is 255lph at 40psi Nismo 275lph is at 275lph at 70psi (What I have now) Nismo is a perfect pump, drops straight in like factory, has a factory bracket, hoses and plug etc. I'll never touch a bosche.
  7. nope, I had one, leaned out at 280rwkw and above. at 300rwkw, the afrs wouldn't go below 12.8:1, even with the injectors completely maxed in the power FC. Have you seen the flow chart? Watch the blue line below 60psi.... Terrible!
  8. I have 555cc Nismos and at 300rwkw they are at 74% duty cycle. But get the 777cc nismos just in case. Don't listen to people saying you'll have idling problems with 700's "because they are so big" - its a load of shit. They'll work just as good as the stock ones.
  9. did you pay them? I wouldn't have. 99.99% of dyno operators have an extension they can put on their Wideband pipe to make it go right up the exhaust. This actually gives more accurate readings. But I have a 5inch cannon and never had a problem. They obviously are tossers.
  10. hasn't it also got something to do with the harmonic balancer?
  11. omg, my BOV and CAS are both made by mitsubishi!! GUys, someone has been doing bad stuff to my car! Maybe it half evo now? lol
  12. I noticed all of the oil on the exhaust side too lol
  13. Just from what I know, I'm sure the difference between RB26 and RB25 pistons is the gudgeon pin position (to make up for the stroke difference) But you have an excellent question Dale - looking forward to the answer.
  14. looks like it would produce 1000 jigawatts. ahaha nah, no idea, but doesn't look much bigger than the stocker.
  15. that awesome. What size did you get?
  16. this looks like a really good idea. Do you have a link to where you got it from?
  17. Any reason why you want more compression? Is the car a bit of a dog off boost even though its a 3l? I want to built one, but I'm not sure what compression I would run.
  18. either that or your turbo has shat itself.
  19. f**k they are nice tits; the hose runs around the back of the engine, and through the throttle body I think, so blocking them up might not be the best option. Joining them up would be as if they were on a watercooled turbo anyway. What kind of turbo did you put on? Oil only must be old as the hills?
  20. Dale is right. And when doing my ignition maps, I like for nice steep hills to hammer it up.
  21. lol, all this will do is the same as fitting a few resistors to the afm to make it read less.
  22. I'm pretty sure the heads are the same bar the cams. Pistons are what determines the compressino ratio on the RB25's isn't it? Hopefully someone has the answer.
  23. thats really bad. I have a GT3076 with 550cc injectors, powerfc, Standard manifold, 0.63 rear housing, etc and this morning I went for a blat at 6am, and at 22psi, and 300rwkw+, it got to 30 on the knock meter. Your tune is shagged, get it checked properly. Dynos don't load cars up enough.
  24. lol paul, the "0.64" rating is a ratio, so if you aren't comparing the AR to the exact same turbo, then you can't compare them at all. Ever seen a 0.63 Exhaust housing from a GT3582 compared to a GT3076? lol, big difference ever though they are both 0.63
