  1. ahaha finally got to watch running on empty and it is gold! paper money! omg this was made in 82 and is an absolute crack up! and he runs NOS! 2 of the big bottles muahahahha. It is seriously hilarious. I've never seen an XB falcon cop car either. not to mention a blind, drag racing, inspirational mechanic. and ugly dave as a cop. not to mention open racism from the days before political correctness "what a lot of sauce from such a small piece of spagheti" And they dead set wreck at least 2 GTHO falcon which is min of $1.5m these days. I guess this was before they got expensive judging by the budget for the rest of the film. And we get to see deborah conway's boobies before she got famous (if in fact she ever did. get famous I mean. I guess this was only the beginning) this review sums it up sooooo well: The aim of this eccentric, almost so-bad-it’s-good, film made by the Film Corporation of West Australia but set in NSW, seems to have been to produce a kind of Rebel Without A Cause meets Mad Max. Centered around the character of Mike (Terry Serio) and his girlfriend Julie (Deborah Conway) who are involved in a illegal street-racing scene, we get treated to an unholy mix of post-teen romance, gawd-awful 80s fashion, farce, awful acting (or the absence of it), car stunts, red-necks, bare-breasted skinny chicks, repressed homosexuality and 50s rock n’roll. On the upside the cinematography by David Gribble is excellent, particularly in the country scenes, which capture the Australian blue and gold with a near hyper-real clarity, and the stunts are well-done for their day. Everything else about the film could be used to blackmail those involved. Aside from his character as written, Max Cullen’s turn as Rebel, a blind mechanic and self-styled philosopher of the zen of road-racing is ludicrous, if not downright embarrassing and Deb Conway who, despite a brief singing appearance in Peter Greenaway’s Prospero’s Books, rightly concluded that her future was not in film, bad as her wardrobe was, should have kept what she had on. Fortunately for her, success was not far off with the band Do Re Mi and their song Man Overboard, 1985. Had this film not been such a dog’s dinner (was that the aim? who knows? ), Terry Serio, who like Conway, also fronted pop bands (in his case The Elks) might have gone on to be another Mel Gibson. As it was, he stumbled through a few more unsuccessful features and turns up in occasional in local TV dramas. The film was released as Fast Lane Fever in America where the street car fraternity apparently take it seriously. BH everyone seriously must watch this. get drunk first it helps
  2. Yep Steve Jones is looking good for this one.....45sec up. And really its only between Jones/Quinn/Herridge at this point. 1 73 Nissan GTR 35 Steven Jones 1:01:16.0 0 2 90 Nissan GTR 35 Tony Quinn 1:01:32.0 +45.0 3 65 Subaru Impreza WRX Sti Dean Herridge 1:02:13.0 +57.0 4 37 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9 RS Dylan Thomas 1:03:26.0 +2:09.0 5 91 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 6 RS Peter Major 1:03:32.0 +2:15.0
  3. 2 more cars for the list. Who else has something to register on this scheme, or knows someone who could use it?
  4. haha love it. especially the way the body is cable tied to the roll cage its a hell of a step up in design from the old girl isn't it... need pics of the rear end/suspension too
  5. chuck em! we did and even on cold, wet tassie days its OK. just need to keep the inside of the windscreen really clean, then apply a thin layer of fogex. totally agree with jay on the firewall too.....cutting holes is easy, its only un-cutting that is a problem
  6. not all of them, mine howed no signs of wear at the crank but still cracked the outer gear in 3 places. Probable cause was crap running through the fine clearance of the pump causing it to crack. Its clear that the fit between the crank and pump drive need to be checked for correct fit before use
  7. lol I think the issue might be alcohol influenced?
  8. for what it's worth...if it is showing g sensor and abs issues there is probably a loose connection or earth somewhere. so start by making sure all plugs are good at the attessa ecu, g sensor and pump above the diff. And consider running an extra earth to the attessa pumps. I agree with Paul that tracking down tricky issues can be worth paying more for - and there are plenty of knoweldgable workshops other than CRD. Not sure who is good and local to the eastern suburbs though
  9. I 've never really agreed with that. If you want monkeys you have to pay bananas. Peanuts get you elephants, not monkeys.
  10. well that sucks. possible it can break because it is under sideways pressure.....but most likely because the belt was too tight.....did it whir while running? time to ask the engine builder for a new motor
  11. lol until corrine came along and wrecked that for all of us. from now on she is renamed "rine"
  12. had to beleive, but nissan put that monstrosity there....they are the same in the 32 gtr loom too. apparently it's a common earth point for all those wires.
  13. I'm pretty sure cams rules require a 1 peice diagonal instrusion bar unless you get it cad engineered Brad don't worry about the door opening, john is built like a jockey anyway. plus it will make sure Pete never drives it.
  14. I have a 32 with stock airbox, 260awkw @12psi and 310awkw @18psi. Its not an issue up to there at least. In fact all intake including cooler is stock. Nissan looked after us engineering these cars....
  15. I am afraid. Mostly of him going past me on the first lap.
  16. 91 gtr, took it to the track straight off the boat on a very hot day. lost the rear turbo in the second session and spun a bearing. 6, 5 and 4 bores very badly scored (needed 0.5mm overbore to fix), spun bearings led to bent crank and 1 very hot rod too
  17. BTW attessa controllers can only increase front torque split, not decrease it. In each series (32>33>34) nissan has added front torque so that the controllers are not as useful. so...is there too little fwd or too much? reducing the fwd requires a very custom setup as opposed to the normal interceptors.
  18. I'm not familiar with the 35 system....does it run a g sensor in the centre of the car somewhere? does someone have a pinout? I can have a quick look and see if it is possible, from there someone will just have to try it out.
  19. I'm not familiar with the rules for PRC but if they are similar to improved production (2x 32m restrictors, or 1x38mm restrictor) then a GTR will struggle. Just can't make enough power with the restrictors to make up for the wieght disadvantage. What are the main rules?
  20. OK....if this thread looks very wierd its because the first 15 posts are from the roll cage build thread....
  21. dirt rally posts moved over here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Gr...ns-t284416.html
  22. Just to clarify this, generally an IP address or range gets banned because someone who was banned keeps signing up with new IDs, as a result we have no choice but to ban the IP. Maybe find the person who was doing it and punch them until the message gets through for us?
  23. whoops 5-6k falls between the good and excellent price ranges...you either need to up your budget or down it. There is a depressingly large gap here. I had $2k to spend on shocks so I went with custom valved bilsteins. they have been great for the price, in particular they are not adjustable so I can't f**k up the carefully researched settings that were put into them I think the DMS gear fits in your price range and they are very well regarded - not sure who on here has first hand track experience with them though
  24. and here it is http://www.autospeed.com.au/cms/A_111402/article.html
  25. Kel and I will see y'all there shortly!
