Garrett Medium Frame Gtx Turbos
GeorgesR34 replied to SimonR32's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Did any one see this result from GTX3071 in .82 rear housing? It appears to be pretty laggy thou. even compare to a normal 3076 link here http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/55845-rb25-turbo-upgrade-all-dyno-results/page__view__findpost__p__5815898 -
I paid about $100 for 2x silicon hoses and a half meter long metal pipe to complete the installation. Also obviouse run the T67 with aftermarket extractors and external gate, we all know stock manifold is restrictive after 300rwkws, So unless the ATR43 is tested with aftermarket extractors and external gate we don't really know what they are capable of. Also appears like Stao's already pumped 335rwkws with stock manifold internally gated on video above, I believe it has no issues pushing 350rwkws externally gated on aftermaret extractors. How ever I would expect Hypergear's units to out perform Kando units since their project is soley based in Rb25det and they have a test car. Looking forward to see some results.

I seen that before. That T67 is running on 14sec ramp against a 3071 looks like on a 9 sec ramp. Not really a fare comparsion. Simon your original sheet would present it better.

To buy and fit one of those turbos you be looking to spend $900 delivered. Then another $800 on a decent manifold, $300 on external gate, $300 making dump and screamer pipes, $200 on water/oil lines and fittings, $100 on gaskets, $100 on intake pipe. By that time you've already spent $2700 plus 10 hours of labor, 1000% defect rate. For $1850 I can get a ATR43ss2, bolt on, all it cost me is 3 hours labor, at 320rwkws It will out perform that $2700 setup. Obviously it cost more $$$ if the turbo is more involving to make, but price for value based on the final out come is still very cheap.

Which T3 Turbos Do Fit Without Too Much Headache?
GeorgesR34 replied to Torques's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
and by the way I'm running their OP6 high flowed turbo, the SS1 comes on boost lot faster then mine specially in 1st and 2nd. -

I was in their test car when he had the SS1 turbo straight after tune. no kidding that felt like a stock turbo with heaps more power. That would be sweet on stock injectors and tuned computer. -
Which T3 Turbos Do Fit Without Too Much Headache?
GeorgesR34 replied to Torques's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
High flow would still be an option and there are high flows today capable of pumping out very decent numbers, how ever results of high flowed turbos varies depending on turbo work shops whom did it, since you are in UK sending it back n forward is not really practical. GT3076 is a good option, its not going to fit without much headaches and I'm aware of how expensive good mechanics are in UK. Other option is Hypergear atr43 "SS" series, which are very outstanding performers, they would also be the nettest turbo to install with every thing bolt up. -
Hanaldo, there are also plenty of people runs big branded turbos spent heaps more that aren't getting any results. I also run a ATR43G2 in .63 (op6) rear housing pulls all the way to red and its just about the same response as my stock Neo turbo. But on the same time its also possible that you've got an "odd" turbo or a "odd" engine or "odd" what ever. At least you’ve been offered a fully tested working replacement ruling out the most suspicious part. Stao what time will you be at Status?, I want to come and see the tune.

Most Power Through An Afm In Standard Rb25 Location
GeorgesR34 replied to Harey's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Neo cam shafts should be slightly better plus with the advantage of solid lifters. I noticed most of the 250rwkws+ R33 rb25det dyno readings sort of noises down after 6700RPMs while the R34 rb25det Neo engine kept on making power all the way to 7200rpms. Same with Stao's results, this seems gone better after he recondite his engine head with stronger valve springs. -
Most Power Through An Afm In Standard Rb25 Location
GeorgesR34 replied to Harey's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
comparing the dynosheets both of them has exact dyno correction so there aren't differences as long as the car's making the same power. Stock housing with .82 turbine sounds like a PU high flow, It made exact power as the ATR43G3 with larger back plate and bigger comp housing. Both turbos held18psi by 7000RPMs on Stao's car. Few other members also made the 300rwkws mark on same turbo with AFM in factory position so it shouldn't be an real issue. The run I'm interested in is their .82 FNT housing back to back comparison with ATR43G3 core. that held very steady 22psi made more power and torque everywhere. Ask him to give you a trail run on it and see if that get rid of the drop. If not it would be restriction some where. -
Wtb: Lowmount Upgrade For An R33
GeorgesR34 replied to oscar32's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
High flow is $960, check this thread, plenty of information: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/261613-hypergear-hiflow-service-continued/page__view__findpost__p__5711431__hl__hypergear__fromsearch__1 -
Stao How can I find out the ramp speed tuners have used? is that addressed on the sheet? its obviously meaningless in comparison with others unless the ramp rate is identical.
-
Sorry I meant changed to a smaller 76mm comp wheel.
-
A mate with a 3540 went there, Stao have re-configured the front wheel and engineered that into a set of stock R34 turbo housings. It was heaps more responsive after its done, and looks completely stock from out side. from memory it costed just over $400.

Power vs Response vs Torque vs Overall cost vs Technology vs Customer support. Its obviouse. Even hypergear's stockie high flow's pumping better results.

You just said valve float does not affect performance and minut later you giving all the affects of valve float. answering your own query. There are a million things it could be said your self. Read ths OP's post. He's got low compression pistons with "cosmatic head gasket". Could be in 1.5 or 2 mm in thickness. who knows. might be below 8:1. -
20 psi isn't a little bit of boost. I'm just speaking for and been the majority of people with whom run RON fuel with stock engines.

LOL LOL read his reply before replying. -
There are plenty of cars running 98 RON fuel making more power then that with less boost. Their turbos are generally rated from 450 to 500HP. Unless this turbo can't hit its efficiency range at 20psi. 99% people has stock engines running RON fuel just like Justin. To me 500HP on 17psi with 98 is more useful then 570HP on 35psi with E85. Keen to see other members results.
-
All results mentioned are running stupid amount of boost which is impossible with stock built engines, not mentioning the amount of work done plus the juice they are drinking. Your result would be an pretty good indication of what its capable of on a stockish motor, mild mods and more acceptable amount of boost. Any chance of showing us the dynosheet?

Don't stock injectors runs out of puff around 230rwkws?

Hypergear G2 Profile Turbo For Rb25det
GeorgesR34 replied to luvpsi's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Not true. They are almost identical, new ones with ceramic balls are even better. lol
