  1. VCT is supposed to be turned off around the 4500 mark. having it all the way will kill top end. but not having it will kill down low response.
  2. Thats very impressive figure for a Rb20det. I'm running a ATR43G3 high flow in stock nissan housing pulling 287rwkws on 19psi. Turbo's definitly got more then 300rwhp. Check intake, exhaust, cooler, its normally one of those things.
  3. You can get up to about 300rwkws safely on 98 fuel with stock engine. Ask Stao to upgrade it to a G3 with .82 rear housing, He's done it to a mate for $200. Very big difference in power delivery.
  4. every thing on Created dyno comes on sooner thou. won't get same reading any where else. I wouldn't count on that. Mate had a HG op6 hf after selling his gcg op6, HG's had a big chunk of extra mid range while gcg made 3 extra kws up top.
  5. Learn how to drive with your right foot. or put a brick under the aceleration paddle or some thing. lol
  6. Trent said he's tuned 20 of them and 6 out of 20 had problems, thats 30% risk out of “supported” ecus. Stao's S2 R33 with 16 bits z32 ecu can't even drive properly, and he's out pocket for 6 hours tuning, that already $1000 spent. What amuses me from Darkhalf's reply is that they've still chipped that ecu knowing it’s not supported / won't work. Sale that ecu to who ever wants to tune it, then get a proper ecu, or wait till they fix up their bugs.
  7. Wait WHOOOT that is 1000RPMs even more responsive then the SS1 turbo. Ladies and Gents That is a more responsive turbo then stock while making more power and torque every where. Its going to be a killer turbo if you can get the 280rwkws with more mid range while keeping current response and torque. Well done !!
  8. The First one looks like it’s under heaps more ramp load then the 2nd one. That 100KWs drop appears heat caused as engine has more drag, I'm pretty sure that run was done making sure the engine does not pin under heavy load. But compare his 2nd run with Stao's ATR43G3 on std engine, it appears the G3 had same response while making more power every where through out the whole rev rang. Assume his new turbo has the same response as the SS1, then that would makes it almost 1000rpms more responsive then the G3 making it superb. Looking forward to see some results.
  9. 98 R34 GTST Rb25det 550cc injectors Z32 AFM HyperGear high flowed OP6 turbo 3inch turbo back exhaust Ebay cooler Nistune chipped ecu 287.5rwkws at 19psi
  10. It looks like they had too many problems with them so they've stopped doing it all together.
  11. It appears he's got fuel pump issues from previous reply.
  12. :rofl:hahaha no that won't work on Rb25det unless you got another car with 0.2L engine. Hot air would not pump out a tinny turbine housing and wheel combination, which traps inside combustion chamber causing detonations. So depending on size of engine as well as sizes of the turbo, bigger engines would need larger turbine housing and turbine wheel to maintain stable at certain boost level. R33 rb25dets should be alright around 280rwkws mark at about 18psi without getting valve spring or lifter issues.
  13. I would be interested to know what Ramp rate timing its. could be looking at some thing in to the 15 second ish and that won't make it responsive at all. I believe that was 2 runs based on 2 different ramp timings. But congruts on the No.s
  14. Different center housing but appears larger in size to what they've fitted.
  15. I've bought a high flowed turbo off them last year I never run into that much of trouble installing them, mine water fittings were all within 10mms of reach. This ss1 turbo appear to have a very different center core then mine, this video or illustration doesn't seems to apply to their high flows.
  16. Which cat did you get? I was told to buy the 100CPI cat for best flow. how much did it cost ya?
  17. Just make them tight. There isn't real much of torque "sittings" on it.
  18. There is a rubber diaphragm inside external gate, its going to make a noise when the diaphragm leaks as air travel through the leak. I would pull it apart and check it. Branded EG’s diaphragm is made out of better materials compare to those cheap ebay once. Which technically lasts lot longer.
  19. Check ATR43SS1 from HyperGear apparantly that made 24psi by 3500RPMs internally gated maxing at 267rwkws fit stock manifold and dump. That appears to be the best option for response if you aren't chasing high top ends.
  20. thats not new. thats the same problem with all the KKR430, 480 and 560s back in the days. Looks like just changed a name and kept on trading with the same old crap. Need to drill the whole out and fit in a larger flapper.
  21. Their turbos are pretty good in general. I'm running a one of their high flows and can't be happier. Two mate's got their ATR43 turbos on theirs I've seen them, very welly machined inside, abit rough out side. They made a generic housing into a T3x Nissan housing so consider the concept in making them, thats understandable. Both made 300rwkws+, Its a Turbo so its more of the performance then the looks.
  22. Their turbos actually do looks abit rough in appearance, its all comes down to performance. Is that what you've got? http://www.skylinesa...ost__p__5678760
  23. Pressure test one end pre the cooler and do the same after the throttle body, drive on road or dyno to see if there are any pressure differences. If its showning 20psi+ pre cooler and only 15psi after cooler then the pressure drop would be 5psi, which is alot.
