  1. ok .. after talking to scott, i hear the nismo's are a bit of a lucky dip.. depending on the setup of the tune and not really worth the money. my second option is obviously an impul. where can i get one. and does anyone have an impul spare that was tuned to the vq?

  4. decent mid range boost increased. gets on boost around 2300rpms rather than 2800rpms and spools up much quicker turbo is heaps louder and a much louder note on idle. works well
  5. Thanks for the injector info! Yeah i gathered other than the ecu upgrade. so whats the variable with the nismo ecu's ? dont tune as well? i take it these are piggybacks on the original ecu? and GCG - i take theyre from the coast ? i really need to take this step and getting a decent ecu.. i saw a nismo one on yahoo auctions for $500
  6. yeah im think going a sard fuel reg, then different injectors.. mine are getting super noisy anyway.. esp now with the manifold cover off. What bigger injectors did you get and how much were they, and did you require any fuel rail changes other than the injectors ? who are ATP ? i take it theyre in victoria?
  7. the only thing ive forgotten is diff oil! probably use redline for that!
  8. - changing all gearfluids today on my M35. - although i dont believe it applies to c34's gearoil and only m35 infiniti's will keep people updated on how that goes. 10 litres of matic-j for gearbox and transfer case. (need to flush any dextron III out of there with a pump so probably waste at least a litre) 1 litre of matic D - for power steering. 1 litre of .3 nissan brake fluid. new belts!
  9. using either royal purple 5-30 or 10-40 .. 5 - 30 is slightly lifter knocky as its a bit too thin. finding the 10-40 a better ratio. although ive also used motul 300V competition .. around the same price $100 for 5 litres. and is slightly quieter on the lifters.

  14. only just realised that you can adjust the headlight angle with that knob down near the bonnet release.. wondered why it wasnt changing the dim setting on my dash derr. definately comes in handy on dark country roads. HID's rock also.. theyre so white!
  15. anyone with a aftermarket FMIC on their m35 ...what was the dimensions you used without having to butcher the front bar to buggery? and was that a relatively easy fit? Doesnt need to be huge. infact id rather it quite thin but long. Anything has to be better than the standard one on there. any feedback on dimensions would be great so i know what to buy before tearing the front bar off. cheers keir

  19. definately great choice.. i wish i got at least an RS 4 like yours Scotty with the navi- or an axis like this! My RX has no cruise control! owell got mine pretty cheap i cant complain all that much..
  20. couldnt agree more.. on the environmental issue esp with such a poor increase.
  21. exhaust port leak kinda matches the sound .. ill need to get it checked out. It was bought privately from someone who bought from an importer in melb last november. doubt that warranty would carry over to my ownership but not sure. i guess i should check it out.
  22. also worked out why my stag winds off the clock way past 180 and was wondering why everyone elses stops at 171/172. .. its almost 14kms out the speedo!... couldnt believe it when the gps corrected me and the road side speed tests that corelated what the gps said. no wonder people had been sitting on my arse the past 2 weeks!
  23. good news mate.. looks to be a lifter noise right adjacent to the turbo...all good for now, turbo seemed fine, have also found a vacuum leak on the injector side. got noisy injectors also heh. 5 DegreesCentigrade temps on country roads certainly show you why you need a proper intercooler, response was insane.

Getting some lifter sounds now the exhaust has been done which i suspect is the turbo dying .. sounds like compressor wheel scrape as when i rev high the scrape continues after the rev has dropped for a good 5 seconds after the engine has backed off. Although theres another issue. I believe the radiator guys when blowing out the oil cooler topped up the tranny with dextron III but that wouldnt account for the continued scrape spining sound in park. It does however over rev alot in 4th and 5th when on boost around 100. but a gearbox fluid flush and change on monday with proper matic-s fluid should hopefully correct that. Any ideas? Heres a video of the sound! definately compressor wheel scrapage? :S
