  1. Nah, didn't get to run against Nige this time. His clutch began slipping after a couple runs so he packed it up so he could drive home. His best was a 11.5@135MPH so the tuning gave him an extra 5MPH which isn't too bad. The times, like mine sucked but the speeds are looking good if we can get the launches right.
  2. The new setup was simply adding a NOS system to the car. We did use a 75hp shot which gave us an increase of about 80rwkw. It's actually closer to a 65rwkw increase as the last time we dynoed, we used "Ben" pesimistic settings and this time we used the standard "Ben" dyno settings which is supposedly a tad optimistic. We reckon on the pesimistic settings we would have made around the 505-510rwkw mark
  3. Hi All, Just though I'd let you know that the new setup on the LeeWah GTR was completed on Friday night and the tuned on Saturday. http://iceperformance.com.au/LeeWahGTRNOSRun.jpeg We did end up at Heathcote on Sunday but due to some split IC silicone hosing, we didn't get many passes in. By the time the car was ready to run after replacing the hosing, it was 2 and the rain came in at bout 3 so we only got 4 runs in. The launches were all bad with a best 60' time of 1.87 on Nittos. Disgraceful I know The best run we had was a 10.7@138MPH which although the time was slower, the MPH picked up from the previous best which gives us some indication that the change was worthwhile. The best MPH of the day was 140MPH which I was pretty happy with. Just a better launch and we should be seeing some good results. We'll be out again either on Friday night or on the 14th at Heathcote.
  4. No you don't. I suggested it in the original post I must admit, it was a very clean car though. Just some power and it would rock...
  5. Well, the car has just finished tuning this afternoon after the new toys have been added and we are off to Heathcote tomorrow for some runs. The car finally made 526.3rwkw on the RacePace Dyno Dynamics dyno. All parties involved are happy with the result. Times will be posted after running tommorrow.
  6. I personally saw it get owned last night by a GTR with 310rwkws. The launches were both pretty good but the other GTR by the end of second was a bout 3 cars ahead. No braking was involved until the red lights ahead.
  7. Would that be 330rwkw or 330rwhp and either at the fly or wheels?? I'd want to see that to believe it. I have my reasons.
  8. Last night cruising the lovely streets of Melbourne, we came across a nice white R33 GTR with the plates GTR-330. Does this person visit these forums? We were curious as to what the 330 stand for. Does it stand for 330rwkw or rwhp, 330kw or hp at the fly or is it simply coz the car was a R33?
  9. The E46 M3 is actually a manual with a sequential shifter, not an auto. There is a clutch working the gearbox but is controlled by either the gearshift (up and down) or the paddles on the wheel. On the harshest setting, the changes will take place in 80 milliseconds. Go the manual!!
  10. Here's a good read I thought I'd share with you all. Enjoy. Octane Levels
  11. 275s are fine. I was running 275s on my 18x10s for quite some time until I changed tyres to the Azenis ST115 which doesn't come in 275. I tried it both on stock suspension and my Tien RAs. As James said though, steering may get a bit heavy though and unless you really need the grip, stick to the 265s.
  12. Cars will either go faster or something will break. Simple as that really. I know which one I'd prefer.
  13. There is a chance and it is likely you may see the Supra and GTR go head to head when we hit the track. It has been worked out how it'll happen. Hopefully it'll make some nice footage and memories for the generations to come that smaller workshops can put out big cars. Hey Jack, feel like taking some footage on the weekend?? You can do an in car shot of GTR Vs Supra action...
  14. One Word... NICE!!!
  15. Yeah, Nige's result was a bit of a pissweak effort. He didn't crack 500rwkw but I guess he got close... It made 498.5. On the other hand though, no gas was involved. Should be an interesting run if we make it out this weekend.
  16. Thanks for the photos Merli. If she can't find em there, I'll be in contact with ya.
  17. Ah James, The World would be a nasty place without generous people like yourself I feel sooo much better now. BTW, stay tuned all, there maybe racing on Sunday at Heathcote....
  18. Has anyone got images of RH9 stickers? I have a friend in Japan who is coming home soon and I need to send her pics of them so she can pick some up for me while she's there. It's hard to describe it, so if anyone has pics, I'd greatly appreciate it. And NO, I'm not putting them on the car until it has run under 10 secs
  19. Due to the loss of SAU over the last few days, I (like James) got so much more work done. I actually left the office on time the last couple days. I think we should call this time of loss "Productivity" Dammit the thread bout my car is gone
  20. I hope I can make it next week as racing was postponed due to bad weather and not being able to get enough testing done in time. I may end up racing next week instead. If that's the case, please take notes and sign me up as a Vic SAU member.
  21. Ok. James, what's the go? I'm not running this weekend so I'm now free from 3pm to meet anywhere. Or are we gonna postpone this meet till a later date?

  23. Hey Adzmax, Sorry to hear about that mate. They can be a little slack on returning calls but I apologise on their behalf. Have you have the cooler installed yet? If you need to contact them, please send me a PM and I will organise it for you as I see them quite often.

    Burnouts :D

Ok, I do apologise for posting saying 8000rpm was a good place to drop the clutch. In a standard R33 GTS-T, I would still recommend around the 5000-6000rpm mark as this will ensure that the tyres break traction and can spin up quickly and efficiently. A burnout will take of the same amount of tread as travelling the same distance while rolling. The fact that you aren't moving anywhere doesn't make a difference. Just a quick note to draggers who wanna warm tyres before running. Everyday street tyres are designed to operate most effectivly at a specific temperature. If the tyre heats to a point past this temperature, you will actually lose traction as the tyres have been slicked up. I found that on street tyres, a burnout really isn't necessary as these tyres are designed to work better at a colder temperature rather than hotter. If you really wanna do one, simply a quick burnout without the brake would be sufficient. That is all...
