These were held up in Sydney where the cops are generally worse than Melbourne. IMO, I think it is good that the cops are targeting illegal drags and charging people who drive irresponisbly. Racing should be conducted in a controlled safe environment like race tracks and drag strips where you can go as fast as you like.

From experience I can assure you that getting into the 11s takes minimal cost. A set of 2530s and the normal performance mods such as air filters, full exhaust , cam gears, fuel pump and injectors can get low-mid 11's easy. To get to 10's I made the move to go a single turbo setup with a larger IC, cam shafts, valve springs, bigger injectors, new fuel system (twin pumps), forged pistons, stronger rods, Autronic, new gearset, triple plate clutch and the above mods. Also, a set of Nittos helps the cause big time!! I did however leave the stock GTR suspension in the car as my Tiens are too stiff and give no rear end squat thus taking traction away. Just out of curiosity, Munro, what clutch are you in your R33 and how often do you replace it? I managed to get 14 runs and some normal street driving done (500kms) on my triple plate Ogura before it packed it in and began slipping. I'm just wondering whether this is the lifespan of clutches when I'm pushing 450+ rwkw a the strip.

I managed to see it before the clouds came over. I saw it at about 7:30 and then again about 10:00. Can't say it was very impressive. Kinda looked like a really bright star with a reddish tinge. Just glad I didn't miss it coz I couldn't be farked waiting another 280 years to see it again.

If you can get it for $200 less, I'd buy a truckload of em ASAP coz I'm selling now selling it for less than what I paid for it. I'd genuinely like to see a quote from anyone who will give you a brand new Trust 1.2mm metal head gasket for $430.

There is no real such thing as overkill when it comes to feeding the turbo cold air. What you need to try to accomplish is giving the turbo as much air as possible as long as the air is cold and directed in a straight line. Turbulant airflow has a very negative effect on the effectivness on a turbo. We found a 4 rwkw loss by simply removing the air pod. We found that the air pod directed airflow in a less turbulant direction so we left it on.

No. Because of the way the airbox feeds from the front of the bonnet anyway, it was cold air already feeding to the turbos.

Air pods will only work well if you box them off. If you don't, you'll get as much hot air in there as with a standard air box. I know of a number of GTRs running stock air boxes which are making mid 11 runs day in and out.

Dunno but if things go the right way for me in the next few weeks, I'm gonna try to find out
