Is this event limited only to Skylines? I know a Supra with 400rwkw and a 180sx with 300rwkw which maybe ready in time to run. Any chance we can let them run?
-
I'm interested and you can also put Emre down too. Are we allowed to bring non-Skylines?
-
So have we got details on pricing yet?
-
Does the suspension on a R33 GTR fit straight onto a R34 GTR??
-
I maybe interested if my car is ready by then to run again. The last 2 times I've been out to Heathcote was for the LS1 private meet (the 1st one got rained out) and there were 50 cars and Emre managed to do over 20 runs over the 2 sessions. Great value for money.

The cars being off the road has nothing to do with not being able to afford it. My car is simply waiting for the water pump to go back on and then the fuel system fixed and then I should be out at the strip again trying to pull better times. Now that I have my Nittos, I'm hoping we can race by June. The other car is being put back together to sell.

I thought xenon headlights were a completely different setup to the standard Sklyine setup (excluding the Series 3s as they came standard with xenons). You may have to look into changing your entire headlight setup if you want true xenons. If you just want the white light with blue tinge, Autobahn or Supercheap Autos sells them I believe.

One of them has only been off the road for bout 5 weeks. Alot I know but compared to the one which hasn't seent the road in over 18 months, it's not all that long

Hehehe. Water pump.... Know that feeling. On my thrid one now since the rebuild
-
Nah, I think Geordan's (sp?) car is gone now. That's just a guess though. It became part of the furniture after awhile and you don't actually notice until someone asks for it. Kinda like my car really

As others have suggested, check yr brake fluid or check the pads. The handbrake light also comes on if the rear brake pads are worn.

Gtr With Stock Turbo's 1/4 Times--be Real.
Leewah replied to ricknismo's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Pulling the front shaft out is a 10 minute job on a hoist. It involves about 4 bolts at each end of the front shaft. Simply unbolt and let it drop The fuse comes out easily enough once you get the coin holder off which shouldn't be a problem. The 4WD and HICAS lights may come on but that's just coz the ECU doesn't know how to interpret what it considers as a loss of traction. And yes Merli, I believe it was you who sold me one of the coolest toys in my car. 375rwkw is a fun in 2WD!!! Damn tyre chewing monster.... -

To get a R33 GTR into RWD, there are a couple things you can do. The best one is to simply remove the front shaft. With the front shaft out, no power can be transferred to the front wheels. Another thing you can do is to remove the fuse which is located under the coin holder. This will only work for a couple dyno runs as after awhile the ATTESSA gets confused and goes into a type of limp home mode which puts a constant 10kg to the front which means that your car will come off the dyno if it is only a RWD dyno. I've now got the HKS TSC and drag controller in the car so I can safely put the car in RWD from the cabin or adjust how much torque I want going to the fronts at anytime. -

375 hp equates to around 280kw at the treads. You should be hoping for around the 11.7 mark with that kind of power. The only stopping you are the small tyres your're using. You may want to look at using 255 width tyres rather than 235 if you're on 9" rims. With that much power through 235s you'll be spinning a fair bit through 1st and 2nd, even if you are a 4wd. I was wheel spinning when I had 250rwkw. Emre has a similar setup to what you have described and he has over 310rwkw at a similar boost level if not less from what I remember. You may want to speak to your tuner as to why you can't get more power than 280Kw at the treads with your setup. Cheers -

Apologies. I forgot the larger IC. The dyno figure was made at Frankston TAFE dyno where figures do read a little high sometimes. -

Personally, I ran 12.74 on stock turbos at 1 bar, air filters and Apexi GT Spec cat back exhaust and 4" Trust Drag IC. I suspect my slow time was due to running crap tyres and breaking traction all the way through 1st and second with a massive 208 Kw @ the wheels and a 60' of 2.3. HIRISK, a regular on SAU ran 11.57 on stock GTR turbos earlier last year. Although he had other minor mods, the stock turbos held up fine. Check out the article at http://www.fullboost.com.au/cars/featureca...tr32_shaun.html Emre has also run 11 second runs on stock turbos with minor mods. -
My car looks stockinsh except for the 18" Volks, Apexi exhaust and Nismo rear spats, but I'm more than willing to chuck the car in the HP challenge to see how I compare with the rest of Vic and interstaters. And yes, VspecV is Dean who owns UPI. He now drives a silver 34 GTR with black rims....Very horney looking car!!

Aww come on Ward, please don't go!!!
-
HAHAHAHA!!!! You have now been officially OWNED!!!
-
ROFLOL!!!! :whip:
-
I'm pretty sure that I've got a stock R33 GTR exhaust down at the factory if you need it for a couple days.

Hey Kylie, Welcome to SAU. We hope you enjoy your stay and visit often. Feel free to contribute to the Wasteland too. There's lotsa fun goin on it there. Which part of Melb are you from?
-
We've had a SR20 make 305rwkw with a 3037s kit on a dyno dynamics dyno which later ran a flat 12 @100 mph, lifting off at half track. The HKS turbos are speced much lower than their actual flow capacity. This is done for warranty reasons but it is widely accepted that the turbos will flow much more than speced

James, Sorry to hear bout the break in dude. I've seen your car round a fair bit round the Sth Yarra area and have heard of ppl talk bout it when I pass in Chapel St. Glad to hear most of the gear is covered but I'm sorry bout the personal belongings. I'm sure we'll all keep an eye out for your gear.
