    Burnouts :D

I'm going to assume that this question is in regards to burnouts when warming tyres at a legal drag meet. 1. Push clutch in 2. Select a gear (1st is simple but 2nd warms up better) 3. Build up the revs to a nice high rpm. I recommend 8,000. 4. Drop the clutch and quickly move foot from clutch to brake. 5. Heat till satisfied. 6. Serve hot. :D:D:D:D:D It's difficult to stop the back from sliding out, but it's something you just need to live with
  2. Although this meet is suggested to be Heathcote, is there any point meeting up there if there aren't going to be a significant number of people running? I won't be able to confirm that I'm running until late Thurs or Fri that I'm running and besides that, noone else has shown interest in heading up this weekend. It is a long way to go to meet up with people if no one is going to run. It maybe a good idea still to have the meet closer to Melb or postpone the meet for 1 wk and have it on the 9/11.
  3. I'd love to come but I think my car may actually be ready to run by 2 Nov and I'll be heading to Heathcote with the GTR and the Supra to test out the new toys. Can someone take notes if applicable and count me in as an official member if memberships are being taken.
  4. I have heard of OBEHAVE but have not yet seen it. As I said previously, racing should be kept on the strip or circuit as there are less unpredictable factors there. Street racing doesn't interest me anymore like it used to as I have learnt the lesson of my licence being worth too much to my everyday survival as I rely on my car for social and business purposes. If OBEHAVE is as fast, then I would love to meet the owner and compare times on the strip where all variables are as equal as possible.
  5. We're really happy to have the short articles in HPI. Keep an eye out for future issues for bigger articles. The article on Jet's car was pretty good too. The MAS photos are in this month's Speed mag.
  6. What is enough power? Hmmmm, good question. Wardest has summarised my views quite well in saying that my stock WRX was awesome for the 13 months I had it and then I wanted something different and the GTR was the answer. Upgrading the GTR was initally just something I was toying with. With 210rwkw and my Tien suspension, it felt awesome, cornered well and had decent straight line ability. It wasn't until about 15 months ago, I decided to build a sick drag beast which could still be street driven. What inspired me to push harder was the FangArtists. When we met up, 200+rwkw had credit but it wasn't enough to keep up with some of the more powerful cars out there, so I made the decision to do the turbo conversion and work the internals at the same time to save pulling the engine down over and over again to put new bits in there. At 450+rwkw, the car is a true animal on the strip and street. It's no fun playing with other cars now. Bikes are the way to go That's the only way there's a chance of losing. Now I'm not saying I'm the best driver in the World and I can beat anyone out there, all I'm saying is that when you have almost double the hp of most performance cars on the street, anyone can win driving my car as long as you can change gears and keep the car staight. Racing with the hp which my car puts out is dangerous and therefore is now kept to the strip only so if you see me out on the street, please don't try to race me as it will be a waste of your fuel, time, effort and possibly your licence
  7. I would have put my car in I'm gonna be in Sydney this weekend Enjoy peeps.
  8. Sign me up Ambz!! I'll be there with bells on. That is if the car is on the road at the time of the shoot. Can we organise it so that everyone can come to my car if it's not running??

Where did you find the calander? I looked at http://heathcoteraceway.tripod.com/ and the site doesn't exist anymore.

I was still gonna go up if the Ice Supra and other Fang Artists were gonna run their cars but once I said that I and the Supra wasn't going, everyone else piked so I don't think I'll go up. I'm gonna try to make it for next week instead as I think there is another meet next Sunday. Sorry for being such a piker myself. Feeling a bit disappointed atm

I looked up the meaning and I can only agree 100%
  13. Cool. Any other takers? Some of you must love your cars enough to immortalise your babies with other babies
  14. I'd like to do it before December. The sooner the better. All I'm asking for is 3 willing participants to capture their babies in digital history with or without props....
  15. Can't give it to ya as the last time it was posted, it was erased by the Mods. I'll give you a hint though... It starts with www. Ends in .com and has the word eroticars in it
  16. Yes, the $250 includes the pics. Snowy, I'm sure your Mrs comes up great in photos even though I haven't seen her but I'm somewhat interested in having photos done with a lovely looking piece on the Erocticars website who goes by the name of Brittney...
  17. Ok, for those interested, I contacted Eroticars and have pricing details for them. They are based in Sydney and require a minimum of 4 cars before they will even consider flying down for a full days shoot. Basic pricing is for the following: $250 will get you 2 hours dedicated to your car in a studio. $500 will get you 2 hours dedicated to your car in a studio with one of the lovely ladies who can be found on the website. All I need now is 3 volunteers who are willing to have their car shot professionally. All your photos are then burnt to a CD in a ridiculously high resolution which would be good enough to turn into a poster should you want to. Please let me know if you're interested coz I'm a guaranteed to partake in a cool activity.

Anyone can enter I believe. Unfortuantely I can't remember the workshop name but they're in Cheltenham near Ice Performance I think.

The dyno comp is around the corner from Ice Performance. Can't remember the name of the place but they got their dyno installed a few months ago. It's got one of those 3 letter names but it's not TGS or BMT If you give Gerald or Nige a call, they could probably tell ya. So I hear. That's why I wanna meet them, father and son. And to all those thinking this is gonna be a showdown of sorts between the LeewahGTR and Endless, please reconsider. Let's take all the factors into consideration before even thinking that this would even be a half decent comparison. LeewahGTR: R33 GTR which means 4WD. Running Nittos. 2 years of R&D and track testing. Best time 10.47@137MPH Endless: R32 GTS-T with newish RB26DETT rebuild RWD!! Currently running slicks Less than max boost Best time 12.7 @ 121 Been on the strip once and broke the axle As far as I'm concerned, Endless is still in its early development stages and has nothing to prove to anyone. The same goes for LeewahGTR. I'm doing my own thing and BMT is doing their own thing. If we end up lining up together, so be it and let's have fun racing, but let's not build this up to be like a Munro Kier race coz it's not!! I'll see some of you at Heathcote whether LeewahGTR makes it up there or not.
  21. Vovan, If you're interested, I still have my GTR AFMs, carbon fibre piping and K&N filters for sale. Check it out at: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...81243#post81243

Nige is no longer sourcing parts. It's more a case of putting it together in time and then tuning it properly. At the same time, they are working on my car to get it ready for the dyno on Thurs or Friday as there is a dyno comp on Sat we thought we may have a go at.
  23. I'm still using NGK BCPR9ES, 1.1mm gap on my car and no problems as yet. These are the same plugs I used for Melb Auto Salon (495 rkwk) and when we raced at Heathcote last (10.47@137MPH). I'm going to move down to a 7 heat range plug though as 9 is a bit excessive.

Negative on that one. If anything, I'll be at Heathcote first thing in the morning, running and then spending the rest of the day watching my partners in crime pushing for faster times.

Noone has stepped up to the plate yet, but I'd love to see some of Vic's GTRs out there. I'd like to see GTR-34 get out there again and try for 11s. One of my ex collegues here knew the owners of GTR-34 and said I should hook up to say g'day, so here's the chance If my car is ready in time (fingers crossed), this is going to be an awesome meet. From what I hear, there will be some pretty wild RWDs out there. All you need is a helmet, long sleeves, long pants and a car that can pass scruitineering.
