  1. Hi All, In planning my trip to Japan, I wanna visit Top Secret which is in Chiba and I believe there is a HKS workshop also in the same area. Can anyone please give me the addresses coz I wanna go find it. I am in desperate need of a Top Secret and HKS jacket!!! Are there other cool workshops which would be easy to get to in the Tokyo area? I also want to head to Autobacs but I hear that's pretty easy to get to.
  2. Nige wont' be running as his clutch needs to be rebuilt. It was supposed to be sent away some time ago but business has been too busy to work on his own car. Don't worry. It'll be out soon enough.
  3. Nige won't be running but there is a 50/50 chance of my car heading out. We won't know until Friday arvo as I'm waiting for some new head bolts and studs to arrive. I will keep you informed. Check the forums Sat night or Sunday morning as weather also plays a big factor in this. Don't wanna head up for racing be stuck in the carpark doing FA.
  4. Hey James, I've had em for sometime now. I couldn't find em in AU so I had to buy them from CA. Gerald has em at the mo but I need to get em back so I can reminise the wonderful memories. "You are gonna take the shortcut to the Interstate ain't ya" "If you're gonna be a bear....be a GRIZZLY (or in his case grisleah)!!!" as the GMC truck suddenly leaves the road and heads into the forest after leaving the start line.
  5. 1. Empire Strikes Back 2. Canonball Run 1 & 2 (It's too hard to seperate) 3. Resevoir Dogs 4. Shawshank Redemption 5. Ocean's 11
  6. Hey Demon Dave et all, Thanks for all the info!! I really apprecitate it. I will have a browse through the threads and see what else I can find. This sounds like it's gonna be a mad trip. Hopefully I'll catch up with some of you while I'm there. Cheers, Dave.
  7. Hi All, I will be in Japan in late May for 2.5 wks and I need a list of things to see and do while I'm there. I'll be based in Tokyo from the night of 24 May until 31 May and then heading off to Hiroshima to visit some people and then I have 4 more days after that to bum around and do whatever. I will have a Japan rail pass which I'll get here to travel to other cities so I can only assume that I can get to most places by train in Tokyo too even though you have a number of rail networks there. What I would really like from you locals there is a list of things to see and do and also info about accomodation while I'm in Tokyo and Hiroshima. I'll be travelling with 2 other friends who know as much bout Japan as I do (nothing). The only things I've really penned in are seeing Disneyland and Mt Fuji. Everything else is open for suggestions. Of course if accessible, I'd love to check out some car related places. Is it easy to get to the Chiba district? I believe Top Secret are there and I'd love to visit the factory if I can get in. Also a visit to a HKS outlet would also be waaay cool. In regards to accomodation, can people recommend reasonably priced hotels where we can stay? I hear accomodation there is really expensive so I wouldn't really wanna spend more than AU$200 a night (triple share) in a hotel. Is this possible for a reasonable hotel (Ie. No skanky youth hostel kinda setup)? I'm interested in seeing everything which is interesting, both touristy and non touristy. Also, if any of you are available to hook up in late May, early June, I'd love to meet you. I hear that our mobile phones won't work there so I'll only be contactable by email at my Hotmail address of [email protected]. Until I leave for Japan though, I'll be here checking out the forums. Hope to hear from you guys soon. Cheers, Dave.
  8. HPI never asked me to sign anything. If they're looking for Supras too, I can think of a rather hardcore one too. Might ask Nige if he wants to put his in.
  9. As Matt said, my car, like his and the RPMGTR has already been in HPI so our chances of getting published again are slim unless it did something amazing. If Hot4s would take my car though, I'd be happy to present it to em. May get some exposure and be able to sell it
  10. I have no problem with the car leaving the country. If I sell the car for the right price, I don't care if the car becomes a hearse or a taxi
  11. Hehehe. Good buy wasn't it???? I tell you what, after we finish racing (possibly 2 May) I may sell it back to ya... How much you willing to pay for a ETC and EDA that's been in the Leewah GTR (fingers crossed)?? Actually, now that I think about it, this isn't even yours!! Your's is in a conviscated GTR and was replaced by the workshop who lost it...
  12. Trust is a wonderful thing isn't it. Put it this way, if your "mate" bought the car and transferred the car into their name as they were buying it for you, you would still have to transfer the name of the owner back to your name and hence spend more than the spotters fee to get it into your name anyway.
  13. In a word: NO The spotters fee is only valid for people who can sell the car to someone else. If you want the car, PM me and we can work something out.
  14. The spotters fee will work on a sliding scale of how much you can sell the car for. I am offering $1000 for anyone who can sell the car for the price I want and if you can sell it for more than what I'm asking, you will also get a cut of that.
  15. Hi All, I have posted a thread in the forsale section where I am now selling my GTR and moving on to new projects. Just an update on the sale, I am offering a spotters fee for anyone who can sell the car on my behalf. If you are interested in buying the car or know someone who is, please PM me with your contact details and I will get back to you. Cheers, Dave.
  16. I maybe in overseas atm James, but I've still got an eye on you mate... As SLYSX says, with a bit more boost, you too can have this much fun, in fact, if the price is right, you can even have mine
  17. Yes, sad but true. It is time to let my GTR go and move on to other things. I am taking genuine offers only. $65,000 or other serious offer. I am not accepting a swap such as land either (which has been offered). Don't miss out on what could be the investment of a lifetime. Enquiries can be made either to me via PM, +614 18 304 235. EDIT: I am now offering a spotters fee for the sale of this car. If you know anyone who is interested in buying the car, please PM me with your contact details and I will get in touch with you. 18. Shan, The car was never on sale for 90k. A lot more than that has been spent on the car so figures are a bit blurry. The car is for sale though and I have a number in my head which I'm asking for it. If anyone is interested, drop me a PM and we can talk. Here is the graph from MAS for ya. Enjoy.
  19. There is nothing wrong with GOLGO. Golgo is a stock R33 GTR with exhaust and that's it. The car's O2 sensors are pretty far gone and hence it is running rich and therefore makes a better flame thrower than a race car. The 13.3 was done with a slipping clutch so it is capable of doing a high 12 which is right for a stock GTR. The 180awkw is an accurate figure of what the car should be making with the limited mods and tuning. It is going to be worked on by ICE in the near future so things should pick up soon
  20. Thanks for your comments peoples. It was a long road to getting stupid numbers out of the car without it blowing itself to kingdom come. I haven't scanned the dyno sheet yet but will when I get some time quiet time at home. Should have it up soon. We'll go racing soon, prob early May once we make sure the car and engine can sustain these power levels for a few runs.
  21. We are planning to run at Heathcote early May. More details will come closer to the date. Ie. Day before as usual
  22. Oooooops, my mistake. BTW, OT, Matt, who has the trophy
  23. Maybe it can, maybe it can't. Power figures don't really mean anything to me. What is important is the timeslip
  24. Awesome weekend. Nice photos Shan. The FAs won the following trophies: Outright HP Dyno Challenge - New AutoSalon record of 617rwkw 6 Cylinder RWD Dyno Challenge - Nige's Supra - 574 rwkw 6 Cylinder AWD Dyno Challenge - Leewah GTR - 593 rwkw Tough as Nails - Leewah GTR Smooth As Silk - Nige's Supra Club With Attitude Thanks to all who were involved in the SAU stands who helped us out make this MAS the best yet. Oh yeah, and a personal thanks for the car stands for the weekend. They were invaluable in pulling out an putting in front shafts
  25. An excellent weekend had by all. Congrats on the dyno figures to all who competed. FYI, it wasn't the dyno's fault it kept dying. After speaking to Sam, Nick and Damien (MAS organiser), it was MECC to blame as there were huge power surges going through the Shed which even the power surge thingys downstairs couldn't stop, hence blowing the dyno and the AutoSalon Hopper thingy's $3500 battery charger. Must say I had a ball with all you there and I wonder whether we should start organising Sept now..... As for the price tag on my car.... I'm not going to post a price on it at the mo. I have a figure in my head and the first person who offers it or more will get the car. When we go dragging next time (in the next month or so), if I break a 9, the price will be going up substantially so if you know someone who wants by pride and joy, for the right price, they can have it.
