  1. Snowgirl, WTF are you talking about? What is happening with what? I think I've been in the Tardis for too long. Not sure where you got the info bout the OS Cross Mission gearset not being tough. I've currently got one in my car which most people know is pushing the 1000hp mark with no problems, Emre is using the same set in his car and the RacePace GTR is also running one and that car does 1:16 around Sandown. Can't fault it yet. Also, Garage Saurus was using one in their 9 sec 1000hp GTR awhile back. The only person who I can think of who has broken them is Theo Woolcott who just ran a PB 9.7xx at Jamboree. It's all a case of how you change gears, not how tough the gearbox is. Unless you're running more than 600rwkw, I would think the OS set would be fine. The PPG box is supposed to be awesome from what I've heard and a better alternative to the Trust setup. Hollinger will set you back around the 18k mark. I may have a spare stock 33 GTR box for sale soon though if you're interested.
  2. Yeah, still got the Skyline. It lives happily in the garage during the week and ocassionally sees the sun on weekends I believe. Let me assure he is still alive and kicking. Spoke to him today so you can stop your searching
  3. Dude!! When I hear bangs and I know my car is involved, I WILL duck for cover. I suggest you do the same....
  4. Andrew? You're still alive!! Thanks for all your help making our jobs easier. We were speaking to Damian after the show and he was markedly impressed in the way things went. We finished on time, if not a bit earlier and all the cars which were scheduled to run, did. Those who weren't around at their agreed times didn't get to run but that'll happen when your on a tight timetable. If you guys need any help next time round, give us a buzz and we'll be there. Take care. Dave.
  5. This is how the FangArtists do things.... http://fangartists.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1523
  6. Here's another view for ya http://fangartists.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1520
  7. No harm done Matt. All is well. I just ask that people not comment on what happened unless they were there or know what happened. The only people who are going to know are the ones directly involved. I ask that you find out from myself or someone CLOSELY involved, not some spectator in the front row. They know diddly too. Rumors don't help anyones cause and for the fact I want to sell the car, the rumors of a weak engine are not what I want coz it isn't. The NOS runs off a full throttle solenoid. When the switch is activated, the NOS is armed. When the Autronic detects the throttle is at 100%, the NOS is fired into the plenum and mixed with the appropriate amount of fuel. In this case, the firing switch was stuck in an on position so the NOS fired into the plenum as soon as the arming switch was thrown causing the NOS to be fired too soon without the appropriate mix of air and fuel resulting in the explosion. Thank Christ (not you PranK) for silicone hosing otherwise you would have seen the plenum fly into the crowd. Yeah, thanks for the Coke!! That was the second drink I had all morning beside the Red Bull at 9am. As for the dyno, it was reading fine. Ross' car made a tad more on the RWD dyno that it did on ours. Nige's car was running less boost than last time round as there weren't any cars out there to battle against considering Ross' car is already an Ice Performance car. Don't worry bout this Shan. All is well and we are in duscussions. An update will come next week. As a favour to me, let it go and let's not speak of it.
  8. I was a very angry man at the time. All is well now after I found out how damage was done and the result was minor. More bummed now bout not getting a trophy.
  9. I'm still running the stock plenum with multiple throttle bodies on my car and we made 617rwkw on my GTR at AutoSalon back in April. The only reason I would use a single is for ease of tune. The multiple throttle body is so much better for street response.
  10. Thanks for the offer Sam but unless it's gonna be official, I don't really see the point. It's a real shame that I knew how much power my car was making on Friday night but she failed to perform on the day. Kinda like a Sally Robbins effor really.... The car will back on the road during the week when we can find some time inbetween customers to get the piping fabricated and a new radiator fitted. Everything else is fine so nothing else needs to be done except turn the boost back down to streetable power.
  11. Yes, DeSiReD is correct. My car does run NOS in shows and when drag racing. This is mostly correct. It didn't shatter the radiator, it put a small hole in it when the piping shot off the plenum. Hmmm, bit technical and imaginative but incorrect. Unfortunately Nark, it was nothing like what happened at Heathcote. This one happened coz the piping travelled at a great speed into it....The Heathcote radiator blew due to too excessive pressure. Give this man a trophy. Correct. The NOS backfired due to a stuck switch engaging the NOS when it shouldn't have. Ie. Too early. Actually....take that trophy back. No oil cooler to pierce nor a remote oil filter No it didn't touch the front bar. Total falacy. Yes it is. RacePace Motorsport also had a lot to do with the inital development of the car. But you broke the car and didnt get a trophy Obviously you didn't stay for the trophie ceremony where I won "Tough As Nails" for the 3rd time running. That's OK though, not many people do Man, am I buggered. I have slept a total of 9 hours since Friday night, so I'm stuffed and short in paitence. I'm wearing total black today to mourn the dispair of not taking back the 4WD record at MAS. Anway, you guys wanted an account of what happened, here goes.... On Friday night the car was prepped and ready. We made final adjustments and dynoed the car at Ice Performance making a comfortable 591rwkw with gas. This was better than the 556rwkw we made back in April. The car sat happily on the FangArtists stand all weekend without a problem and without any bits being stolen which was a good thing. When the car got on the dyno, nothing was changed and the car began ramping up. When the NOS switch was turned on, a huge bang occured with a rather large flame coming out the top. I was standing pretty close to the front of the car but unfortunately I wasn't facing the engine bay at the time. Anyway, the huge flame and bang made everyone duck for cover as if we were under attack but as soon as I heard it, I suspected the NOS has done something very very naughty. My suspicion was true. The NOS switch had locked itself into the armed position which cause the NOS to be fired into the piping leading to the plenum too early causing a backfire. The pressure from the explosion caused the cooler piping to essentially spilt and come off the silicon connectors. The piping came off with such force that it swung forwards and hit the radiator, rupturing it and leaving a small hole. There was no oil leaking from the car either. The car was driven off the dyno, back onto the tow truck at the end of the night and into the factory. A check of the engine has come up with nothing. Because the explosion happened in the piping and then blew off the plenum, the engine was saved and is still in perfectly good working order. The only parts that need to be replaced after this thing is the cooler piping and a radiator. It could have been much worse but thankfully the safety measures were in place and did their job to a tea. Working for Cabin over the weekend was another great experience. James, Ash, myself and a couple other people over the weekend lent a hand to Cabin and helped move over 120 cars on and off the dynos to and from their displays. Cars like the widebody Accord were absolute hell. With rims the size of manhole covers, the width and turing circle of a 747, it was no easy task moving it to the dyno to find that it was too low. Going back was even worse as the driver couldn't reverse park very well. I think working for Cabin allowed us to move cars more efficiently and flowing nicely. We hope you all enjoyed the show as I can assure you all that we worked like absolute dogs. It was defiantely the hardest I've worked in a long time. Thanks to the FAs for putting up another great stand. Although the position wasn't as good as last time round, we did the best with what we had. We still walked away with 6 trophies and a nominee for King of AutoSalon with the Ice Supra. Great work Nige. My thanks go to Damian, Andrew, Charles, Gareth and all the other Cabin staff who made Melbourne AutoSalon Semi-final another great show. Thanks for Sam and Nick from XTC for operating the dyno all weekend and getting through the 120+ cars we ended up completing. Also a massive thanks to Sam and Nick for understanding our needs in having our own dyno operator. Without your understanding and efforts the 2 most powerful cars and my POS wouldn't have made the dyno.
  12. Told ya what was gonna happen but you didn't believe me.
  13. fine. it's done. hope your happy now
  14. Yeah, noticed that this morning you stirrer I'm not gonna bother wasting my typing skills on them. There simply will be no end to it if I post. And If I do post, I'm simply gonna post up what I put on MCCR. That shut most people up. Besides, I love coming into work, logging in and checking what's been posted by people who have little or no idea what modding and performance is about. I may change my mind by this arvo though but I have to be PC as I'm selling the car, not bragging about it.
  15. LOL!! ns.com says it ain't worth 120k? Yr right. It's worth more!! What was I thinking... If I can get the price that I want here in AU, I'm taking it back from the joker in the UK who's bought it for 26k pounds apparently. EPAed everytime it gets started? That is something I can't deny. It's been EPAed twice in the last 3 years and is canary free. The simple fact is that I get left alone coz the car looks stock beside the rims and exhaust. Purple!! It's the new black dammit!! AWD just means that it hooks up better and is generally faster than most. I wouldn't consider myself a big cheater..... The car will be at MAS this weekend and if I take the record back, I'll be happy, if not, eh so be it. I'm not gonna break the car for a trophy.
  16. FARK!! That sucks the big one!! Sorry to all those involved. OT: Sam, are you guys running MAS again this time? Who owns/runs the other dyno?
  17. Leewah

    SAU Vic Benefits?

Hmmm, wonder if anyone wants to sponsor a purple R33 GTR striving for 9s..... Good publicity for all involved
  18. Here's another wonderful thread arguing about my car. http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.p...opic=52989&st=0 How do I deal with such fame??

  21. Kick back kidz. I'm on this one. There's a good chance there'll be dyno day down at Ice in the next couple weeks. It's just been really hectic with MAS coming up. I will prob post a "Ice Dyno Day" early next week with pricing and details
  22. Ahhh, you are a touble maker Don't think I'll bother posting in this one. Too many know it alls there....
  23. Good work Vic. A great turnout with great people. Ash, good work with the snags mate. I don't care how they looked, it's whats on the inside which matters 008??? Does that mean I'm one better than 007 or am I just gonna be lucky?? See you all at MAS!!
