  1. Before the NOS was installed, I was making 380rwkw on 18psi and 98octane fuel. This was measured on a DD dyno. After that,we upped the boost and whacked in a substantial (but not huge) shot of NOS.
  2. 300+ on a dyno with plenty to go. Too many mods to mention.
  3. I just found out from Damien it beat mine coz it was 609awkw and mine only made 593awkw. Congrats to the owner and workshop whoever they maybe.
  4. Sure was. It was Melbourne Autosalon in April 2004
  5. Not sure what record it set. I was pretty sure my 617kw is the current AU record holder.
  6. To help get this thread back on track as I'm curious as to what people's graph looks like, here is mine which was taken at Melbourne AutoSalon April 2004.
  7. Mine's still faster
  8. All is ok. Just had a relapse of a collapsed lung on the weekend. Had surgery on Sat and discharged last night. I'll be out again soon....
  9. I won't be coming on the grounds that I just got discharged from hospital last night and I'm still recovering from surgery. If there's anything cool going on, someone let me know!!
  10. Great stuff Andrew. Glad you guys made it home. Pity bout the car. Racing is racing I'm sure next year will be just as good if not better. I think you may also have tempted some others to take part next year.....
  11. wreckedhead, Congrats on the 10.8 mate. A great achievement. I don't think there are many people out there who understand how difficult it is to get into the 10s. Keep up the good work and hope to see you in the 9s soon. I'm still working to get there
  12. OK, here's a thread I can get my teeth into considering I've been through it and learnt a lot!! When I first considered my car, there weren't many if any GTRs in AU running 400+rwkw. In fact, the only one I can think of was GTR700 when it had 444awkw which was the benchmark for a street GTR. I searched 13 months for my dead stock GTR and after I bought it, 2 weeks later it had a cat back exhaust and turbo timer on it. 6 months down the track it had the Tien suspension, a PowerFC and a 4" intercooler. As time went on, the mods got bigger and more expensive and then after owning the car for 14 months, the whole engine was stripped down and rebuilt. Not only did this build take a stupid period of time (total of 8 months), but it was inconvenient and very very costly. Keep in mind at this point, I was already heavily involved with Ice Performance and RacePace Motorsport and I was getting cheap labour rates. I know what my final bill was and I also know what the bill would have been for a normal person coming off the street. Let me tell you here and now that if I had to do this whole thing again, I'd tell you that you'd be nuts to buy a stock car and build it up yourself. Besides the insanely high cost of doing it, the time saved by buying a built car and the conveneince of being able to jump straight into a fast/powerful/good looking car is worth the risk. If the engine on a powerful car blows, it's probably due to wear and tear which cannot be determined unless you pull the engine down regularly. I take special care of my car as I have the access to the workshop, tools and people who can ensure that my car runs to the best of it's ability. I assure you 617rwkw doens't come easy and even with this power, my best time down the 1/4 is only 10.47 due to other issues which now have to be sorted out. There will always be ongoing costs for maintenance and things that go bang. Although it doesn't happen all that often, I assure you a modded car will always require more money to maintain than a stocky, simply due to R&D from the original builder. We don't spend hundreds of millions of $$$ to R&D a car before we build it. We use a slightly modded version of someone elses formula in an effor to make it better. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. That's our R&D. I haven't added up how much I've spent on my car since the final build was done but I can assure you that the price I'm selling my car for is much much much less than what even I've put into it. Maybe your friend wants a 617rwkw, 10.47@140MPH daily driver which has also won AutoSalons dyno challenge 2 years running and set an AutoSalon dyno record.
  13. Leewah GTR = 617rwkw (593 awkw) and stock GTR BOVs Ice Supra = 574 rwkw and stock GTR BOVs RPM GTR = 489 awkw and stock GTR BOVs I think they speak for themselves.
  14. Would love to have my car in the commerical but I don't think my car will have the engine back in by then.
  15. Yeah, I'll try to be there.
  16. Ok. Here's the deal. As a regular HK goer, I can clarify the following. HK was at Billboards in Russell St and became a members only situation after some of the krew from Salt came over and problems were created (no offence to any Salt goers here but this is simply a fact and I'm not taking shots at anyone). The "full" members thing didn't work all that well and opened up again to the public with a members priority line. About 2 months ago, HK moved from Billboards to The Royal Melbourne Hotel which is located on Bourke St between King and Spencer Streets. Things have been getting better over recent weeks with lineups such as 3 weeks ago when Carbon Based played and last week showed a great turnout due to two hard NRG sets by Paul Glazby & Paul Brisk. More than 800 people walked through the doors on Friday night which is a great number for a type of club which appeals to a niche group. As for the muzzas and other unwanteds, HK has got a lot better over recent times they are no longer welcome. People in there are all there for the same reason and that is to have fun. If you went to HK some time ago and were disappointed, I ask you to give it another chance and go again. It has really become something great and I love everytime I go. I have not had one bad experience there.
  17. As many people here have stated, a RWKW is nothing more than a number. My car has made some pretty big numbers and many of you can atest to that but can you imagine what people say when I tell them that my best time down the strip is a 10.47@133MPH??? "How can you have 600+RWKW and only run a 10??" Well, it's simple. We haven't had a successful run down the 1/4 at full power. There has always been something which destroys the day. I have seen 140MPH when the car had 526Rwkw but the last time out straight after MAS, we couldn't get a clean run in. Now some of you may doubt that my car has that much power, and you have every right to think that. As mentioned before fluctuations between dynos are endless. I am confident of the numbers which my car makes as I am present at the dyno and I know the dyno operators very very well and I know they don't fudge figures. Most of you know who they are. RWKWs don't mean much to me except trophies and an indication of what kind of MPH I would expect to run down the 1/4. The time will come with the MPH. And for those who think the power I make for a 1/4 run can be used on the circuit, let me say that you are dreaming!!! I wouldn't dream of hitting the circuit with more than 400rwkw simply for the fact that the power cannot be used efficiently when corners are involved. If anything, you'll be slower in an overpowered car due to handling issues. It is true though that when my car went on the dyno at MAS, the crowd did grow quite considerably. My 2c worth.
  18. Yeah yeah, don't steal the thread dude I haven't raced yet and it still has your name on it....
  19. You can make a R33 GTR RWD by removing the front shaft from the transfer case hence stopping all power going to the front wheels. That's how we tune my car on a 2WD dyno anyway.... On the strip we use the HKS ETC to cut power to the fronts for burnouts.
  20. I have a strange feeling that the price was for the whole set of 4. Also unmentioned in the ad is that these were 23" mutherfarkers!! That's the only way I got to take the photos in the workshop!! I showed him my article from HPI and my dyno graph from MAS to prove it and after that, we got along just fine. Nagata is more about high speed runs than drag though but he still appreciated the effort required to build such a car and still be street driven. I think this also scored me the ride in the Supra!!
  21. Hey Denham, Yeah it was my first time there, but be assured it ain't gonna be the last time. I WANNA LIVE IN JAPAN!!!!
  22. Finally here are some of the photos which I took while on my 3 week romp through Japan. Taken from the Crystal workshop in Chiba Some doorift shop in Yokohama A mad ass Hummer from Hiroshima A taxi carpark in Kyoto Not all people in Japan drive Skylines, Supras or Sylvias. This is the most common type of car you'll see there Here is some outrageously priced fruit. This price is roughly AU$400.00!!!!! That's an expensive set of melons This is a warning sign which I found amusing at a sulphuric volcano near Hakone. Needless to say, we didn't stay very long but the view from there was amazing, especially seeing Mt Fuji. Fuji truely is a big mutherfarker!! Here are some photos I took while at Tommy Kiara. A Tommy 350Z A Tommy Subi B4 A Tommy Subi B6 They even do a March!! This is the car I want!! A Garaya!! A WRX with minor mods for sale... Top Secrect anyone?? Based in Chiba, their workshop is just off the main road about 10 mins by taxi from a train station. This 10 min ride also cost me 2500yen (bout AU$33). This is a customers R34 GTR with all the trimmings. This is his daily driver and pulled 495awkw on pump gas. I was told that if the customer was happy with this car, he was gonna get Top Secret to build him a low 8 sec drag car. Another customer car. Apparently running twin TD06-25Gs and NOS. Should be making around the 600rwkw mark without stupid amounts of boost. A customer's brand new G35 Skyline Coupe getting ready for a TT setup Here are some Top Secret customer cars which are for sale, not including their own R33GTR Some of Top Secret's own cars. Good luck getting into the garage. As soon as Nagata saw me, he looked like he was going to go postal until I told him I was from Oz and showed him my mag artical and dyno chart. From then on, we got along just fine Top Secret R34 GTRs And the piece de resistance....The RB powered Supra with a T78 turbo setup which I had the pleasure of going for a brief ride in with Nagata San. Unfortunately it was a wet day out there and the highway had 3 of the 4 lanes closed so we ended up buring up the rubber on a couple side streets and down the main road in Chiba. Plenty of power and nice spooling. You don't really notice the "lightspeed" kind of pull you get in my car, but I guess it's hard to feel that when the car is simply spinning the rears at 150km/h and smoke it pouring out the back. Finally, here is a photo of myself and Shibuki san, Director of Top Secret.

  24. I'd be interested if someone wants to organise it....
  25. In a HPI article some time ago regarding Doug's R33 GTR, according to the writer (possibly Ben Ellis) said that R34 and R33 suspension is interchangable.
