I still can't believe I've been as lucky to be in the same event as him I think YT could drive anything quick, witness his resuly in a HQ Monaro at Rally Tas a couple of weeks ago...... to jump in that at very short notice, and do that, with a nav he didn't know, well, begs belief.

Hmmmm, I think his cars used to be more supple. Or maybe, his gear was just so much better than everyone elses that he could win in them? I dunno, but the way his cars bounce around these days, po-go-ing in the front, I'm suprised they don't see the scenery more often. The lambos will be reterning to the conventional gearboxes either before targa, or post targa, I'm not sure. And yes, they were running the fancy S6 at Wrest Point.

At least there's no more super-fancy sequential gearboxes for the Lambo allowed any more. Jim needs to swap out the circuit springs for something more suitable.... have you watched his cars lately?!?!

On a typical mid 20's day, around 6 psi mate. Obviously it's track or road dependant, ie, how hard the tyre and brakes are working. On a typical day at Lakeside, I'll kick off at 28psi cold, but first session they'll be up to 36 or so, so I bleed back to 32 and there they stay usually. Obviously I check them during the day to ensure there's no issues.

He does def work too hard.

I'll ad that if you're only getting 2 psi creep between hot and cold on a big fat girl like a GTR (cold pressure are a total WOFT anyway in my mind) .... then you're not driving it hard enough!

Just keep in mind you can't really rely on the "top" time attack teams to get a real and accurate picture of the pace of a tyre. They use the tyre in a different way to mere mortals like myself, I want a tyre to be both fairly quick, but also usefull for several track days. We all know how expensive they are! The top teams use the tyre completely differently, typically there is a "sweet" zone, a zone where that particular tyre will go outrageously quick to set "the" time, but after that one lap, it's past its prime and will never be as quick again. At EC last year..... it was worth 2 seconds using the tyre correctly. TWO seconds! But after that, the tyre was effectively a rag.
