  1. Not aware of the car you speak of Damo..... Benny, it's still Pommy shit.
  2. uhuh...... Mine was #6 I fill it to the full line, then add a litre.
  3. I'm suprised re the oil surge Benny. Mine did about 10,000klm of competetive driving before a big end went, but I'm blaming that on running 30 odd 100% pace laps in a Qld summer without an oil cooler! lol Do.did you run a litre overfull?
  4. Something I hear which is of great importance for me given my track record (or Timmy's bad calls? haha), panels and bars etc are cheaper for the later ones? Any truth in that?
  5. Oh are they... lol, sorry, didn't realise! Silly me.
  6. Thanks Blaise for the reply mate, kinda thinking the same as you. I do believe they're shifting the elligibility year....... hello to 996 GT3's
  7. Haha, Blaise, I heard yours had the prototype of a new 3.4 litre engine But it makes me laugh, people who go on about strokers.... as if power is the be all and end all of doing well in the event. It's simply not! Most of us here know what it takes, a combo of good notes, good commitment, good preperation, and yes, a good car too. Fact: I know of a few cars that absolutely have illegal cheater gear on them, strokers included, but the guys can't drive for shit, and never seem to do any good. Weird that huh! LOL Timmy and I heard whispers surrounding our car in 2009 of a stroker/RB25/cheater/whatever. No one ever came out and asked us though. I would have gladly taken them over the car to show them how little it actually did have, I may not have been quite as proud of all the China brand stuff on it though And Blaise, as I said to you at Tugga, if you decide to sell, let me know ok
  8. I've had a long hard think about it, and whilst the Audi could be done, I feel, for me at least, it's better to campaign something that I can afford to walk away from without shedding too many tears. That's the advice I give people, so I should probably heed it lol Plus, I'm keeping my Skyline to use up here, and plan to keep the Evo in Tassie so I can save a bit (heaps actually) on freight. The Audi, well it would need to be my "daily driver" and hence cannot stay in Tassie lol
  9. I can't believe I'm actually typing this...... but guys, gimme some feedback. Should I buy an Evo 6 or an 8? Early modern is where it's at, 8's are elligible next year I believe..... I love the lack of weight in the 6 (and the look), but feel that maybe the 8 is actually a better "thing", a bit newer, a bit tougher....... **flame suit is on**
  10. As per usual Kels, well done girlfriend I'll come back and read your drivvle later
  11. I use RPM mate. Easily the best I've experienced, and the adjusters are very easy to use and the buckle is comfortable.
  12. SOLD! ...... To the first person to actually come and look. Hope you enjoy it Matthew.
  13. The 4000 or so that I've seen are all as Baron describes above. Maybe someone's put a 33 not v spec cover on it at some stage?
  14. Lookin good How's the new car coming along?
  15. Take all the aero off. Simple.
  16. This is pretty serious stuff for "Club Level Motorsport"!
  17. They were made in Oz especially for Gibson. Have a search, I believe the current GIO car owner was getting some made recently by the original manufacturer in either Melbourne or Adelaide
  18. Great stuff Russ! Watching with interest!
  19. They don't need it to happen/fail again and open in say, Eo'Rouge (sp?)..... could lead to a monumental accident.
  20. Ahhh, Gus' "Yumple Scrumple"..... good stuff init!
  21. Angus needs to talk to them about not just long drops but all the hired road equipement.
  22. Some of the girls use those little lady funnels that turn their inboards into outboards. Quite disconcerting the first time you see a chick using one though I gotta say
  23. As you say Paul, 15 mins can be a little too tight for the girls who need to find a good place to stop. Spare a thought for the girls right down the back, 999 breathing down their neck while they're trying to find a good place to wee! LOL
  24. I tend to agree Greg, there will never be a perfect solution. But, my strong feeling is this, and its the way I've always approached the event, FEAR the 999 car and never use late time if you can avoid it! ...... thats one reason I drove back through that bloody fence all that time ago, I didn't want to accrue any late penalties and knew she was still good to go! As you say, Targa shouldn't be easy. It should (and does in it's current form) reward good preperation, performance, and durability. The way I see it, if you miss a stage, for whatever reason, your campaign really should be over right there. It adds to the pressure, and I like that. It is however good to be able to rejoin and try to at least finish, which as we know, is a feat in itself.
  25. EDIT: SnowChamp beat me to it ) No Nick, if you go under 2 mins you don't get any "penalty" time...... going 30 seconds under is no use, only using up the car for no reason. Basically, the crew with the lest amount of penalty time at event end are the winners.
