  1. I've just received a Just Jap 19 row with remote filter block to put on the "new" engine. I'll report back after I've fitted and trialed it
  2. You can see that here Jeff;
  3. For hydraulic lifter engines - Castrol Edge 10W-60 For solid lifters (ie RB26) - Kendall straight 60W No oil is any good unless to totally refrain from flogging it until up to full temp.
  4. There's HEAPS around with factory LP gas though, and even straight unleaded ones dont use heaps of fuel. I got my sister one for when she was visiting Oz for 6 months. Very cheap to run, needed nothing, sold it for a profit. I promise you, the parts and labour cost advantage of the Falcon will far outweigh any perceived excess of fuel use. If you're being realistic, a typical FWDer uses about 8l/100. A Falcon, about 11l/100. Up to you bro, good luck whatever you chose
  5. Why are you still going?
  6. Just Jap probably mate. They'll have in stock too.... most dealers won't.
  7. Oh boy...... this is too easy. Step 1. Buy a nice R34 GTR. Step 2. Replicate Mark Berry's 3.0L engine and dry sump etc in his car by purchasing the entire package from High Octane. Step 3. Fit high end Autronic or Motec and have it tuned well. Step 4. Enjoy it for years at over 800hp with just a little bit of love.
  8. Just move in with The Baron.... he'd have heaps of room in the new abode In fact, I spotted the big hunk of spunk on Hot Property the other night.... swanning through inspecting some fancy joint on the water in Sydney..... toffee nosed fark.
  9. 1. Avoid Mitsubishi like the plague, great cars when under a few years old, but the engine/driveline just falls to bits. 2. Avoid Camry's, they are the most unreliable Toyota ever, oil leaks, head gaskets, they're shit. 3. Corrolla's are good, but you don't get a lot for your money. 4. Hondas, well, no. 5. Really, 10+ year old FWD stuff is really just asking for trouble, any of it. That goes for all the love SSS Pulsars get here too! 6. Avoid anything European Holden or Ford like your life depends on it (Astra/Barina/Mondeo etc.) 7. Seriously, if you want a car that is both cheap to purchase AND cheap to run (usually mutually exclusive), it is very VERY hard to go past a Falcon, XR6 or Fairmont. I know they're not a 'sporty" car, but they are pretty much bulletproof, and parts are cheap, and they drive quite well. (Much better than similar vintage Commodore) 8. Either that ^^^^, or if she demands a small car, get a 4 year old Hyundai Getz done under 100k. They're tough little buggers.
  10. Sorry to hear Nod! Now, I'm looking at the weather and saying shit, I only have slicks
  11. Yeah, it's easy to sit here and say "buy something", but the realities are not so simple. Dealing with the questionable reliabilty of a 2nd hand car would be a bit of a stress too. I look forward to ye ole Silver getting to Europe so we can treat them to a bit of Briz Gate
  12. Looks like a hook to attach to the cage to hang the steering wheel off.... all the cool kids are doin it
  13. Will text you now mate re everything left. It's too late to just call you Meaning : I have dibs on it
  14. Yeah, but the Baron, she's loaded with heaps of time on her hands..... and Briz, well, he'd just have to be flush too after doing the hard yards in India. Shoulda just bought a Gallardo and shipped it back for compliance.
  15. I'm simply staggered by the insurance excess..... what's a new one worth? Could you theoretically purchase one, drive it around, and sell it for about the same outlay as hiring it?
  16. And my reply to that dude's post? .......... "It's spring steel dickhead, get over it".
  17. Truth. I woulda swiftly dealt with that cark in the gt3. I'm still super J.......!!!!!
  18. Mate, just give Darron at Just Jap a call 02 9545 0532 and get him to send you some Nismo wheels studs, they're longer, and no question re quality or fitment.
  19. I find Recetech style with solid side head restraints quite difficult on the raod, but the Cobra style looped head restraint not so bad. For a car regularly "streeted" though, any seat with side restraints is like a beacon to the Fuzz, and possibly an excuse for them to have a chat with you.
  20. We can get Racetech here no problems, but personally, I hate them. Uncomfortable (for me), and poor quality fabric. But hey, if they're cheap and you're only spending a short period in them.........
  21. Cobras are excellent, but there's an arse for every different seat ") It may be worth trying a few out, then keeping an eye out on Ebay for your preferred seat? Savman got an absolute cracking Cobra Evo for a comparative bargain on Ebay a coupla months back.
  22. Yeah, but am back the prior weekend...... Don't fret, if i had a Sugar Mommer I'd be down there to kick your arses!
  23. ^^^ Exactly, I think some folk missed the tongue in cheek "fitment" reference. R34 GTR wheels go on my gts very nicely imo, what offset are they? Plus 22 aren't they?
  24. Why? What's happened? I tell ya what, I'd love to do it, but cash here no Chop.
