  1. Don't get those timing gates, you need a receiver in everycar, like we use at the track with the racetimes thing. That looks like just a light gate that messures time. It also measures it as you break the light, so as you entered the gate. The motokanas we had to stop first to be timed, don't think you'll get a gate that can do that If you just want an alternative to writing down times on a sheet of paper.. heres an idea Have a laptop running apache/php/mysql, with an admin interface where times can be entered/published, then anyone with wifi in the area (on a laptop or pda/phone) could view the public side of it. That should be piss easy to setup, plus would make getting the results much easier than you sitting on the couch for 8 hours typing it in With this you could have multiple people entering times etc... If you want to automate the recording of the times, then that gets a whole lot harder and more expenisve.
  2. With N1's you wouldn't really need injectors or fuel pump. Good clutch and ECU for sure.
  3. Yeah i'm confused how you get the times from the cars... ? Getting the times from a laptop with bluetooth to phones probably wouldn' tbe to hard. I just think an automated timing system would be way too much a pain in the ass to design and get working, because you'd have a lot of angry drivers if you say 'your times didn't get recorded that session because a bug in my code cause it to crash' haha
  4. stock airbox is fine... 5kw difference you won't even feel, just stick a good flowing panel filter in the stock box and forget about it.
  5. I had the same problem once. I upgraded my amp to something bigger and got the whine. With my old alpine amp (which i still currently have) there is no whine, i tried all sorts to fix it, different ground points for the amp, those power supressor things, no luck. took it back in the end. The suggestion of the ground fromt head unit is a good one, i'll have to check that, i'm pretty sure its a proper ground earth, but i'll double check to be sure next time my dash is out. Ohh and to the OP, check your spark plugs have the R in, eg, BKR6E.
  6. RE55's but don't expect wet weather grip.
  7. Make sure you have the $$ to back it up if you are going to track it, its expensive, tyres, brakes and general maintence, but the most expensive thing is trying to go faster
  8. Personally I'd buy private first, then look at dealers, then look at importing as a final option. Each to thier own. I just like the idea of buying private because you get to speak to the previous owner, you can usually tell how genuine they are about thier car, and how much care they have taken. If you buy from a dealer, they won't know the history of the car as much as the owner, they are better at lying, and much better at covering up dodgy stuff with cars. But look everywhere till you find the car you like, and make sure you get it checked out thouroughly

  17. hah i'm waiting for the photo of the person taking a photo out of thier window of the hoon in thier car filming thier friends.... The police are encouraging people to take photos while driving? because thats safe isn't it What about the next time i overtake someone who is doing 80 in a 100 zone, they pull our thier camera, take a photo of me and send it to the cops for being a 'hoon with a huge exaust'
  18. I rebuilt my engine because the ringlands were stuffed (which is only because a certain workshop stuffed something up and detonated my engine to death).. and i figured why not upgrade to GTSS turbos at the same time, so my turbos for sale are still in good cond
