hahah i think the launches are hardest on the clutch... doesn't do much to the engine. tracking it puts the engine through its paces more, and there is no way you are going to make an engine work as hard on the street as you would on the track
i'm not sure what 'second gearies' are?
4wd doughies.. haha i tried that on a wet skidpan, just sits there and pivots, kinda fun.
Not sure how extra oil helps oil pressure??
Anyways. I think its normal to loose a bit of pressure with an oil cooler, all those turns in the hoses, the hoses themselves and the remote filter (probbaly sitting up top of engine bay)... think of all the extra work the little oil pump has to do now
If you are not leaking any oil i guess theres not much you can do about it....
Wollop any std GTR? Aren't the 1/4 specs on GTR's in the low 13's?
My standardish GTR ran 12.4.
They are completely different cars. If you need 4 doors, and to tow a caravan, go the ford. If you want a sports car, and no need to tow a caravan, go the GTR.
personal choice tho
form R 10w-60 is all you need to run dude. Thats what Ben runs too.
Coppers are fine, just replace them every 10,000ks (2nd oil change)
NGK BKR6E is the part number dude.
You will still be able to make it to your mates birthday after hte track day.. they finish up around 4-5, you can leave earlier if you like as well. You'll get plenty of sessions in in the morning.
there is no power diff between copper and plats. Plats are a little more resistent to missing under lots of power/boost.
Coppers are still fine as well - Leewah even runs coppers still
Cost is usually between $100 and $150 per track day. Fuel usually go through a tank or two. If you have semis or aftermarket injectors you'll be in modified RWD, otherwise you're probably in STD RWD... but this may change this year.
Yep as troy said, if it has -11 on the end its 1.1mm if it doesn't then it SHOULD be 0.8mm.
West: Start at 0.8mm, if you have any misfires, drop it to 0.7mm, if it misfires still, drop it to 0.6mm
if that 13.5 time is right for his car then you should be ok. go stick it on the dyno and get it tuned, on around 15psi you should be making around 250rwkw.. if so you should be running mid 12's give or take.
