  1. Looks good, but doesn't really look like a skyline. Are we sure it's not one of those Civic's kitted up to a skyline?
  2. Nick: nice, i'm with you, reduce the peak power a little for a bit more reliability/saftey, especially if you are taking it on the track.
  3. I take it this is awkw? Very nice result. Intersting to see your boost hit 21 and drop back down to 20 - what boost controller are you using? Is it set to 20 and just spikes to 21? What rpm are you hitting 1bar boost (just want to compare to williamsf1 and tommy)... Will be interesting to see how you go at the drag strip... are you going to take this on the real (circuit) track? can't wait till i get my car back in a couple of weeks or so. I'm leaving stock cams in for now, see how they cope.
  4. what the hell are you guys doing up at 6:10am in the mornings!
  5. or double clutch. or try that redline oil that everyone swears by (i've never tried it)
  6. yep will be syncros in your gearbox. And i think you mean thrust bearing not thrush
  7. I've been looking for these on the online auctions in japan for months, came across a couple of sets, but they always go for much more than $1000.. closer to $2000.
  8. As for the gearbox, as mentioned just use the R32 GTR push type clutch and your fine. Engine doesn't matter, its the gearbox that is push type, not the engine Good luck.
  9. Adam, just buy a new one from nissan. If you buy a 2nd hand one you'll have to get it checked/balanced and all that. If you buy a new one it will be brand new, plus it will already be balanced etc...
  10. Yeah....360awkw that ran 117mph... He said it was slow shifting, but 117mph is more mid 200's not mid 300's..... You will struggle to get another 50rwkw out of the GT-SS i think. If you want 50rwkw more, then i'd jump straight to the 2530's. Even if you did get 50rwkw more out of the GT-SS turbos, the turbos and engine/tune would be on the edge, its not worth it.
  11. yeah thats what i've read, the crank is a bit different for the oil pump. the pull/push type clutch is to do with the gearbox not really the engine... but i have read that later R32 GTR engines changed to the pull type clutch? and probably the newer R33 crank.
  12. Ahh that sucks Denham. What did the XR6T have done? Nice power figure, but bet he'd have trouble putting it to use.
  13. What terminal speed did it clock?
  14. What 1/4 mile and TS did you get with this setup (360awkw)?
  15. only e 1 out of the top 3 was a skyline? thats poor What happened to your 300rwkw INASNT? No GTR's there i take it?

    Its A Girl!

finally hey. Congratz. Hope it all turns out well for you.
  17. back in 1999 went to a advanced driving course/skid pand day at shep in my old car and saw a P plater driving a brand new M3, he let the instructors/trainers use it to spead the water all over the concreate....!!!
  18. I bough the car with a stock flywheel in, and changed to a lightened one, got sick of it. As Duncan says driving around town its annoying. Anything under 2,000rpm and my car would shudder... I changed back to a stock flywheel and am glad i did. Car is much nicer to drive with the stock flywheel. I never noticed a speed increase in reving, but that would probably because i fitted a twinplate with my lightened flywheel, so the twin plate+lightened flywheel probably weighed the same as the single+stock flywheel. My advice? Save your money, keep the stock flywheel (get it machined if it needs it obviously). Jim Berry told me the same thing - said the Japs usualy get it right with thier flywheels, they are a good weight. Being turbo cars we need to keep the rpm spooling, if it was a torque monstor down low, then maybe consider a lightened flywheel. Hope this helps.
  19. Sorry mate they both sold.
  20. I would buy privately, always going to get a better deal. Private sellers won't have the resources to rip you off/con you. Ie cover up faults with the car. And you can tell if someones enthusiastic about thier car and if they have cared for it usually. Most people on this forum fit that description. Also make sure you can afford to fix something if it does go wrong.
  21. Thats probably because the ones from japan say they are good but are probably 'not so good' as you put it but since you won't see it before you buy it will be to late its all risk... are you a gambler?
  22. The porche that did 1.14's as well?
  23. I was under the impression you had to show receipts of any mods being destroyed? 76,000kms on the clock - seems a little low for a 9-10 year old car doesn't it? how many 1995 cars here do you see with 76,000kms on them? Not many, no different to overseas. Most jap imports are wound back, but if you want to belive your car is different, no one can stop you Yep Series 2 and Series 3 GTRs came with Dual airbags(1996+)
  24. 1.15 and 1.14? were those on full slicks or semi slicks?
