  3. i'd say thats absolute, not guage...so take ~14psi off those readings. interesting results. thanks for sharing
  4. What's facebook? :-p It doesn't work on my phone or work laptop...so sau become my only avenue to post random stuff that no one wants to know about while I'm at work lol
  5. haha lol it actually wasn't that bad...i just wnated to whinge cause it was freekin hot!!!. I've done my time on the floor with the boys...but i must say i'm enjoying the air conditioned office alot more anyway, back in perth now for a few days R&R
  6. Don't worry about benji....he just has a fetish for panel gaps nice looking example of a 33. good luck with sale
  7. r33 gtr's (and 32gtr) have droped in price significantly over the last 12-18months so i wouldn't really whinge to much about the price. There great bang for your buck at the moment and if you've always wanted one i say go for it. But be aware, if you buy cheap, you'll generally get a car in average condition and you'll end up spending the price difference fixing it up. Full inspection is a must. If you can't afford to buy two gtr's, you generally won't be able to afford running one.
  8. lol thats my normal working environment too!! It's just today my supervisor is busy so i'm taking an auditor around the site...trouble is... its a BIG site (biggest ore shipping terminal in the world).
  9. well it's 40deg and i've just spent the the last 2 hours "walking the belts" (lots of steps and steep inclines) at work I'm stuffed ...need to get fit 10min break then i'm back out there again
  10. it's not really a matter of how dead the thread is or will be....the RB30 section has alot of usefull information and in a small location that makes it easy to find. If an E85 section can't be justified by itself, why not an alternative input section covering e85, racing fuels, NOS, water/methanol injection etc
  11. Nitto have a nice feature on there rods to compensate for this
  12. Use penrite for running in. This is how i ran my engine in as advised by my builder: In your garage start the engine - don't let it idle and vary the engine rpm between 3-4000rpm (small amounts of boost are alright...say <3psi) for about 15-20mins or until fully warmed up. inspect for leaks excessive blow by etc during this period Shut off. drop oil and inspect for issues. Drop filter - cut open and inspect for metal. Refill with penrite & replace filter - go out and do an hour or so worth of driving keeping off boost and varying load (using 1st, 3rd and 5th to drive around is a good idea) If possible, have someone doing some rough road tuning on your ecu. Drop oil and filter and re-inspect. Drive to tuners if no problems.
  13. Yeah i'm guessing he did, but radiator's don't blow themselves up!!!! plus the combustion pressure will be alot higher then 22psi.
  14. Jarad, An over pressurised cooling system is a sign of head gasket failure. pressurised combustion gasses etc getting into the cooling system.
  15. lol, i know! i'm only giving him idea's
  16. That really sux matt, your having no luck with the car atm. But yeah, +1 for HG. Did someone say 3L bottom end rebuild?
  17. r34 gtr diff ratio = 3.545 r33 gtr diff ratio = 4.11 The r34 boxes are much stronger than the earlier gtr boxes (it was mentioned to be me when i had mine rebuilt that they can take 800+hp without modifcation) and usually cost ~$3-5k 2nd hand or ~10k brand new. Like the 33 boxes, these are also starting to get a little old and can have syncho problems if they have had an abusive life. I'm unsure what modifications are required to make it work with the 33. Nismo make a conversion kit for the 32, which might give you an idea of which parts need changing. However, i beleive the total cost will be alot more then getting a r33 box built with stronger internals.
  18. Nice graph Matt. . I think you still might be leaning out abit...needs more fuel (kidding ) Are you still looking at trying to hit the 400awkw with a bigger snail?
  19. yeah ..i got post 0 on page 100...so i shouldn't be greedy.
