  1. Cleaned your afm?
  2. Yeah response maybe try get your target without it that's a few hundred you can spend elsewhere
  3. Y r you wasting money. Heaps of rb25s out there making over 300 with stock tb the amount of restriction I would make is nothing plus you will loose some mid range power
  4. Just use what you have
  5. Been a big day at eastern creek car went great besides a split radiator. Was seeing full noise by 4 g and was pulling like I freight train makes me want to bolt the 20 back together
  6. He still hasn't contacted me yet what do you need done?
  7. Pods need to be covered. Yeah artz yours does blend in also helps your running the crossover pipe. I had mine run down becide the plenum so everything was open. My BMW build will have a front facing plenum so gate is least of my troubles. Putting jez's kando to the test tomorrow it's drift day can't wait
  8. Just pull the head off deck the head and new gasket done but that is last resort check the exhaust
  9. It wouldnt be much but he wants to upgrade with a stock turbo so power isn't he's really concern I think
  10. Either way both setups will work
  11. Na is defenatly not happening waste of money and time.
  12. In nsw the cops are lazy. My mate with a 33 god defected for the STD bov then he had to get a blueslip to pass so no matter what you do they will pick anything they can shiny or not. I got done for having a gear knob with no patten go figures. Thanks Simon32 yeah the cast seems to break in the perfect spot everytime then the cleaning part sucks. You could have the wastegate mounted under the turbo but boost spikes would be a issue
  13. they are mostly aspirated iv never even seen a turbo e36 before to be honest seen plenty sitting on chrome 20s with p plates hanging off the back none of that shit for me. nice set of m3 wheels sitting on the tire with a nice intercooler hanging off the front all the bling it needs is the turbo flutter haha
  14. yeah i know il correct myself 200 depending on turbo. it comes down to personal preferance i like it on the manifold as i can put a diferent turbo on if i blow one with the housing your restricted to what turbo can be used. im going to be putting a gt3040 on one of these manifolds and there is no way im welding to one of those housings
  15. like i said how much power do you want 26/30 at 400kw will be very quick and torqey. the v8 proberly could take a better thrashing when aspirated but then when you turbo the thing it might aswell be a rb
  16. a lot more work to put it on the housing and if it brakes good bye $800+ where as manifold $50
  17. thats it finished
  18. splitter stays in the final product looks good and i cant see any problems with defects its alot better then having a turbo reaching for the sky and saying ill take a red one officer. on my set up i had no problems with boost control after my MBC was removed i was using a small gate to 35mm. the 44mm will have no problems controlling things. i think the external gate on the manifold will help the mani flow so much more then without. iv had 260kw though a 38 pipe a 44 could flow over 300+ im guessing
  19. when you look at it in terms of used motors proberly around the same price. problem with bwm motors the km on the engines is massive your lucky to find one under 250xxx and if you do its very expensive to buy. a m3 motor is around 4 g with box. then you need to look at engine managment not much in terms of standalone but can be piggy packed but yet again expensive. the clutches are hard to buy as well and cost $$$$. BMW parts are over priced and hard to find. on my old e36 323i cost me massive amounts for everything but then was a nice car to drive just a bit doggy so rb will fix the problem. in my opinion the only bmw motor i would put in is the m3 as they are wicked and can turboed with eas
  20. oil cooler if head comes back fine. what did the inlet manifold gaskets look like?
  21. going to make everything i can to save money in places so i can spend it else where haha. i just bought cad so i can draw up all my own drawings then get it all laster cut works out cheapser and looks better. the e36 has a few motors but iv been in a few and they are slugy and cost to much to fix. with the rb i know what the motor can do and i know how to work on them so makes life very easy ill post some pics tonight of where its at proberly should start a build thread
  22. thats the go
  23. How much power you want? That will decide the engine
  24. Pull the exhaust off as there will be oil resadue in the mufflers. The pull of part is to conferm the oil I would check the cat first. Comp test sounds good so hg could be ok but like gtst said still a option. Let the car idle for a while with exhaust off and see if there is smoke
  25. Serries 1 rb25 had a different ignitor looks totally different
