  1. Hey everyone I was wondering is there any point in heat wraping exhaust and manifold? Also what difference would a turbo blanket make?
  2. thats on a rb20 wall thickness on the pipe was 2.5 mm that is more then thick enough the problem with stainless is it expands and shinks a fair bit so on the out side of the weld is the most brittle but if you get 2 years out of a 250 dollar manifold money well spent. i wouldnt high mount a nissan turbo again unless high flowed so much stuffing around for min gain. only reason i did it was beacause i was setting up for a bigger turbo but i poped it so plans sped up. i agree with R31Nismoid just use the log style unless you put a decent turbo on
  3. I'm a boily to so I got one actually was is in great condition all I did was crack test it before all came back good they are decent quality for cheap. Na didn't dyno it popped the turbo before I could. They are a bitch to highmount to be honest and kind look sill I'll post a pick so you can decide for yourself. Look so small
  4. I'm no mechanic but what about thermostat or water pump My mate had these symptoms on a wrx and water pump was the issue I could be totally wrong but worth a shot
  5. In used a 25 turbo on both stock and stainless highmount manifolds and I found the stainless highmount to spool the turbo faster not by much but enough to notice had no power difference though.
  6. Has the ecu been remaped on my old 32 I had the same problem and I just needed a tune and I cleaned the injectors then I got 470 km out of a tank
  7. Oh ok fair enough so should I sand it with 2000 grit then cut and polish

    Blue Slip

Bateau bay but can get the car anywhere needed
  9. Also have the rod about 2 to 3 mm for the metal otherwise you will bury the arc and it will cut out Just need to controll the arc
  10. All depends on metal thickness for your amps you can use a 2.5 electrode at 50 amps if it's thin but for 6 to 10 mm plate I would recommend 65 to 95 amps with 2.5 rods with 3.2 rods I would use 90 to 120 it's just a matter of learning. I'm a trade qualified metal worker and I found these settings to work well over the years. Also make sure and rods arnt wet or never where or it will make it difficult. Slow right down and have your angle around 70 degrees to the plate hope this helps
  11. In the bin it goes then
  12. Is there any advantages in running a twin pod setup? I was looking through all my parts and found it and I made it at Tafe when I was apprentice so I'm not loosing out. It will be going onto a rb20 with a td06 worth it?
  13. I had the same problem in my rb20 the intake hose was sucking the oil from the breather I put a catch can in and problem solved
  14. I thought your still cleared the paint to help protect it
  15. I accidently put it I'm my 32 once and it ran like total crap. Why wouldn't you just use 98

    Blue Slip

i wasnt sure where to post this question but its endend up here now my question is where can i get a blue slip on the central coast NSW the car is a r32 with your normal mods
  18. just get a bleed valve i bought one for 25 dollars and works a treat just make sure you have a aftermarket boost guage to set off. 10 should be fine i would do more mods before tune rather then everytime you make a change you need a tune but thats my opinion
  19. ok so things are finally sorted heres the engine car is half painted and just need to finish tiging the exhaust
  20. Just cut the old flange off and put a new one on it's not a hard job any exhaust shop can do it then just get a cat to suite won't cost much and saves time and trouble
  21. Yeah this will be my first car iv painted heaps of beams and stuff at work hope it all turns out good I'll post before and after photos thanks for the help
  22. after 6 months of getting the engine and susspention sorted it's time to paint. I'm painting it midnight blue ( acrylic ) now my question is should I be removing the front fenders and bonnet for a better job or should I just leave them on the car? Iv already removed front bar and will be removing rear bar just for ease of painting thanks in advance
  23. Yeah true. Hey jez can you pm me about when you can do the tune 3 weeks is prob prime for me but I can wait a bit longer if needed cheers mate.
  24. No skids maybe a 1/4 mile dash. Tyres cost me to much plus on the coast the cops are onto imports big time
  25. I had one on my old 32 came with the car was very loud and didn't give the crisp rb note I changed it for a apexi silent system and made it sound super mean I highy recommend the apexi system not cheap but. On my new 32 I run a rsr system sounds great not load very quite on the freeway and can be bought cheap on eBay or you may find one at a jap wreaker
