Can Someone Explain My Tune? Out Of Puff?
cherring replied to Rekin's topic in Forced Induction Performance
Currently have some Nismo 555cc ones. Haha I have to imagine a world where I could afford all that first! Surely the better pump and some bigger injectors and I can still get 250! -
Can Someone Explain My Tune? Out Of Puff?
cherring replied to Rekin's topic in Forced Induction Performance
Hey some do ok on the E85 just got to Hypergear that shit! -
Does anyone know if a good or bad driving record is going to help you be or not be pulled over?
-
Bald tyres probably don't help either?
-
That's true, but kinda not the point. I haven't had to upgrade a graphics card or a CPU or RAM during the 6 years I've owned a PS3, this is one of the appeals of having a console. I also work on my computer all day, I want to be away from it when I am playing games. It's not that the other can't achieve the results or anything, it's a horses for courses thing.

Fitting Exhaust Any Think I Need To Know?
cherring replied to HYBRID VL's topic in Forced Induction Performance
When I changed my turbo on my 32 we had to disconnect the dump pipe from the cat and remove the whole thing out of the car to get the thing off of the dump pipe. -
If you can't find any, get VMWare Fusion, run a WIndows VM and do it that way.

Love those big Apexi mufflers, so glad I bought that exhaust. A bigger dump pipe would probably make it a bit louder, but I have a 3" dump on my car, a 100 cell cat and an Apexi Super megaphone exhaust, it's really really quiet, but keeps the attention away, so I like it.

Guilt-toy Now Running On E85 !
cherring replied to Guilt-Toy's topic in Forced Induction Performance
It's not too bad, only on a really cold morning do I have any issue, and all it takes is a little pump on the the throttle as I crank it and it fires up, it's really fine. -

I think people know they can look up what they look like, I think they are more interested in the condition of these particular rims. -
Bolt on with less lag than stock for $1000. I don't see how this is possible. The rebuild for my highflow with a braided oil line from Hypergear was about $1000. I assume it's laggier than the stock one since the stock one has a ceramic wheel and the highflow has steel. Response is still pretty good for a 2L, but if you want 230rwkw assuming 98 fuel I'd say the highflow of an RB25 turbo would be the way to go, same cost I think as the RB20 high flow, but will be laggier again.
-
What are you trying to acheive? A Hypergear RB20 turbo Hiflow was good for 216rkwk on 98 and 242rwkw on E85 for me, of course it'll depend on your other mods and your tuner etc.

What got done for me was just a straight piece of pipe with the ends still silicone joiner, like http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NISSAN-SKYLINE-R32-HNR32-HCR32-GTS-RB20DET-TURBO-SILICONE-INTAKE-INDUCTION-HOSE-/251199737738?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a7cabcf8a&_uhb=1#ht_1660wt_923 , basically just using the curve at the top and the intakes for the BOV and the oil breather hole section to connect onto the front of the turbo. By using the bare minimum we were able to get a metal intake that won't suck shut and just enough silicone to connect up to the stock airbox, so far it's been fine even after the new tune that is 242rwkw. Sometimes just gotta think about a slightly less obvious solution.

If you want to modify your car, there will be something on it that can be defected. The only thing that you can do is do it smart. Avoid any obvious stuff. Don't have your car too low, invest in adjustable height coilovers and make sure you're at or above the 100mm. Don't have an atmospheric BOV. Just use a stock airbox, the pod doesn't gain anything, and if you really want the pod, box it up properly. Don't get too crazy with your wheels. Think about not having a turbo timer, if you've been driving normally and off boost you don't really need it, and if you have been driving hard, just let it run for a minute before you turn it off. Keep your exhaust quiet, big arse mufflers to take the edge off it, drone and db levels. Keep your turbo low mount, a hypergear highflow is pretty good for this. You can make good power and keep your engine bay looking pretty stock, you just have to think it through before your build.

Yes, combined with the hi flow panel filter, I have the K&N one, but the BOV sound is reduced compared to the pod filter.
-
Stock airbox, hiflow panel fitler, metal intake pipe. That will give you loud induction sound. The BOV sound is reduced, I don't really notice it at all unless I was am accelerating hard on full boost, but that doesn't worry me too much.

Having determined via diagnostics that all my a/c sensors appear to be functioning correctly, I decided I should see if I have a full a/c system still in my car, given some of the strange mods on it when I bought it I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't. So my question is, is the part in the attached pic the A/C condensor? Cheers peeps.

Ok a few pics, the finished product from the outside. Will look better when I replace the grille, the fibreglass one I got is a bit warped, thinking a sweet carbon fibre one will be nice. Also a pic of where we cut it.

Looks like this is what happened, comes up 20 with the car in the sun, must just need a re gas. Oh well.
