  1. Yeah, thats a good pic. It convinced me to go with orange And im doing engine bits black too, top of inlet, crossover pipe and cam covers.
  2. A bit of black today. Still need to get in the tricky bits, after the first bit dries.
  3. Yeah its funny, you have to play around with different sizes to get it to work. It doesnt always work with the exact dimensions it asks for. Computers aye. Today i blasted some speed holes through the inner guards with the welder. Whoops! No pics till i get some bog and paint to hide my shameful welding.
  4. Ahh good, torque and midrange makes car heaps faster. And noise.
  5. Shiny bits. Someone somewhere ( so it must be true ) said they help your engine mounts live longer ? dunno, ive got one and i still dont know.
  6. Dunno what speed, no coolant, only 20mm diameter. What im getting at is that i was using it for a job that it wasnt designed to do, in a way that would normally destroy it, and it coped ok. i had a go with the large diameter ( 72mm ) and they dont handle it. Its just Aldi stuff, hit and miss tools. Metal cutting discs last about 40 seconds, but the grinding disc goes forever. Finished cutting and grinding these things to reinforce where the intercooler pipes go through: They go under here: And on here: One has an extra hole for oil lines and stuff. Like for this cooler i found at the wreckers. Its replacing the bit of pipe they use as a cooler for the power steering.
  7. You can buy them, but they arent liked because of the way they can pivot in a crash. I just put eye bolts where the seatbelts bolt into under the seat, im too tall to use the parcel shelf. 4 point harness and sparco seat for trackdays, its a total bitch getting in and out of the car, you wouldnt want it every day. And look at the CAMS regulations, theres everything you need to know.
  8. For sure. Its better than bog that cracks. Weld if its steel, rivet if not. Or itll get ugly real quick. Maybe on a house or building it would work, cos they dont vibrate. Anyway thats my 2 cents.
  9. High compression? Maybe its had lots of head shaving and the standard head gasket put on. Theyll work it out. Dont worry thats what you pay them for. I shimmed up my injector seals as they were leaking a bit, thanks to Aldi for the cheap o ring sets, i have a choice of thicker ones too. Aldi is wierd, they will have a $30 holesaw set thats as good as a $200 set (better, they cut 3 holes in 3mm steel plate and still sharp), and spanners that arent worth the metal they are made from. Tap and die set was very basic, o ring set was fully loaded with every size and heaps of them.
  10. I doubt youd get enough flow through the nipple to suck all the air out. Anyway its only 2 bolts man.
  11. Making some reo bits for pipes. Not much to look at yet. When they fully are cut out ill take a pic so you can see what there for.
  12. Richard gave it to me, so he should know.
  13. Looks like a panel filter box for gtr, 2 inlets. This aircon stuff enough?
  14. Yeah.... its like, "i cant believe its so simple" most people just never have a look. Good on you, now your going to save some cash. Spark plugs require more parts coming off, but youll see its real easy. Nuts and bolts are a simple principle, thats 90% of the car. Ive learned most of it just by pulling it apart and having a look. Today i cleaned, degreased, and wiped with metho. Under the bonnet too. My engine bay was soooo filthy, now its a different colour. Now i need to give it a light sand, cover up the engine, tape up things and paint black. Going to do the upper part of the inlet plenum, the crossover pipe, and the cam covers black too.
  15. I have full ac and heater from 32 gtst. Its a BIG pile of stuff. A new outside air sensor too, in box. Also some airbox thing for GTR, ill get a photo, dont know if itll fit yours. Its Richards old one. Have old vents, one is still unbroken ill have to see which side.
  16. Fairly new ( 6 months ) z 32 afm. Fixing the diff ( award diff & gearbox ), ill see if that helps.
  17. Trojan! Done me some sweet deals. Rob youve inspired me to paint my cam covers and stuff, so i stripped more stuff out of the engine bay today. Im thinking the black is good. More black and a bit of colour and shinybits.
  18. Stripping as much out of the engine bay as i need to clean and paint it. And the rest i just push into the middle and cover with a dropsheet, like furniture in a house. It will all go back neat and tidy, time to get rid of the mess. The black and red looks good Rob.
  19. Stripped everything off the front. And getting the headlights straight and even. Trying to fix the whole front and get it all straight. Takes a lot of patience. Next, the bar has to go about 10-15mm to the left.
  20. Actually when i was a kid i was teased and bullied a lot. When you get out and run at him with an iron bar, hes got a choice, these fags are bullies and fighting isnt what they want. This subject gets me all worked up. I HATE bullies. Want to smash them all.
  21. Well thats one advantage of being 6 foot 4. I just pull over and get out with the steering lock in my hand. They get back in their car and leave. The only problem ive had is a group of 3 guys chasing me, i was in the ute, so i put my towball through their radiator, and drove away, with a bit of the front bumper. Towballs are good defensive weapons. In the end, just stay safe.
  22. You know them i spose? Sydneys a big place, as long as its not going out of your way.... that would be awesome! When do you go back?
  23. Just cant help myself.... bad habits. I knew this would come in handy again one day, havent used it for about 10 years. Crown and pinion seem good, just the old viscous centre has to go. Its annoyed me the whole time ive owned it. All cleaned up and packed to ship to Award diff and gearbox.
  24. oops wrong thread
