  1. Well mines fixed. Got a new bracket, a nice straight one. that bits fixed..... other bits still need work. brakes need machining, gaskets on exhaust or turbo leaking, diffs fked, etc etc.
  2. Hey Cole, check out my dads steering and suspension work sometime: No kidding, they got a landspeed record too.
  3. Hey guys... i dont know why you want to use the existing wiring. Doing a twin fan setup is sooo easy, even a bonehead like me can do it. And its real cheap. You can even have them go on at different temps. Its so easy, once you have the bits, you can do it with a knife a screwdriver and a soldering iron. And you only ever use the screw in temp switches, obviously you all know the capillary ones are rubbish. I have a temp gauge sender and a fan thermo switch in one of those metal bits that splices into the radiator hose, and it works great. You can even get a hose with a threaded fitting built in, for that nice neat look.
  4. Solved the gas problem with a couple of air admittance valves (plumbing stuff) Taped up all holes and gaps, even some expanding foam filler in there, to seal the cabin from the boot. An aav where the window wiper motor was, sucks air from the cabin into the boot. One in the boot sucking air out to under the guard Now when i shut the boot it feels right, like a bit of air pressure. Havent tried it on the road yet. But it should work like it has all the original stuff still there. (plastic sheeting, rubber flaps etc)
  5. I found it easy too. The hardest bit was not making a mess with the goo on the new water pump. Might be a pain with an auto as you cant lock the crank by putting it in gear.
  6. gotta replace the vent thingy in the boot
  7. Went for a drive. My car is trying to gas me.
  8. Should do, recovery day today. Hospital grade Migraine yesterday. That means 2l of water in a drip to get me going again. Still a bit sore today. Still cant work out what triggered it, it was like some kind of chemical contamination.
  9. Canberra, going to borrow dads compressor, which isnt too big, but ok, dont know hp or cfm. Whats the advantage of air driven?
  10. Its getting close to all working together. The diff is the last big thing to fix. Im getting really keen to fix it now, its just spending that much, i dont want to get it wrong. The first ones had the wrong ends, for GTR, they had to get different bottoms sent.
  11. Im going to paint my car at home. One thing i think might make it a lot easier is a dual action sander/buffer. I have been looking around a bit, but cant find much thats cheap. Are there decent cheapies around? What are they? Or are they too sht to be worth bothering? Thanks, Mik.
  12. Or get the adjusting tool out. Ever heard of silvers neomax? i cant find any reviews or opinions, i think there mono
  13. Thanks, but what do you think, 255 fit there? Thats 20 wider, so 10 on one side. Another 10mm would be close, i guess i can always lip some more.
  14. Got my front tyres, 235, 40, 17. now have to work out exactly how much wider i can go for the back 255? would be nice Opinions appreciated. Pics are of 235s on the back
  15. 17 x 9 + 35 Rays R32gtst, lipped guards. Federal RSR 235 x 40 Photo of rear: These tyres are for the front. So how wide do you think i can go on the rear?
  16. Evenly rolled guards, takes a bit of time. Wheel on, measure, wheel off, roller on, heat and roll, roller off, repeat untill even on both sides, front and back. Hardly any paint cracked....... on the last one. doesnt matter, paint coming soon. Final adjustments may be needed, i need tyre on to see.
  17. Just mouth.
  18. I cant believe you post that without realizing the potential for smart-assness. Fags and come in the same sentence. Hmm... Come at you or just on the face?
  19. And i thought i used the computer too much! Less time on the net = more time in the shed. Time to get some tools guys, and spend more time with her, love is a two way street man. The other one says if she had wheels and a motor id pay more attention to her!
  20. The real ones work so much better, And for $85 why not. Now my guards are lipped and still smooth not lumpy.
  21. New one of these for the front radius rods They are supposed to be straight, not bent like my old one I think i need a new crossmember too.
