Thanks guys. the shop rang and he said take it out and try to hammer it flat again, carefully. It works 90% of the time.... apparently. Ill give it a go, if it doesnt work....... new shaft. -
Got my diff back from sydney via couriers. It seems to be damaged. See that bit is bent back. Theres a new Kaaz 2 way in there with no oil yet. Would a hit big enough to do that, damage the centre too? If i bolt a driveshaft to that it will be bad, right? Im very dissapointed, a diff was something ive saved $ for, for a while now and it looks broken already. Canberra Centenary Hillclimb this weekend, wont be able to enter now. But mainly the $1900 i just spent. Make sure you have insurance on the couriers.

Just Got My First Import Gtst 93 From Victoria
D.I.Y. Mik replied to ozdaz's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Do you have to go to Dickson? If not you may be able to get adjustable suspension passed. Guys here may have some spare stock ones to get you through. No, dont mess with the axles, its much cheaper to get the right offset wheels. Or bolt on flares if thats your thing. And the Throttle Position Sensor plug is connected to your throttle body, on the other side from the throttle cable. Photo 6 Maybe it needs to plug in, ask rob he has a 33, and that photo he put up there..... -

Good decision for sure, sounds like its worth about $1500. How about going over the one you got? Take some photos of the engine bay, suspension etc.... we are curious. Start reading the forums about how to fix it up. Heaps of good advice there, good to read before wasting money on blow off valves and other useless junk. Let the fun begin! -
Rb 20 det: note: pcv is located on the inlet plenum. Can $40, hose $12

Can we please have a thread for stolen Skylines? I know they mostly get broken up and sold all over the country. We can all look out for the bits in our local area, i know i dont want to buy stolen parts. So if victims can put up photos and a list of the mod parts on the car, we can look out for them. Also tell us where and when the car was stolen. I feel sick when i read about some guy coming home to find his pride and joy just gone. If we have a database, we can see where bits are going, and how long it takes. Some stuff wont be sold on for years. Thanks SAU, Mik.

Whats in KFC these days? Almost never eat it, only twice this year, but both times made me so sick, spewing for 12 hours, NOT food poisoning, its some chemical sht. After last time my right arm and hand were numb down the outside for a couple of days. This time the left side of my face is twitching, and my left forearm is numb. Thats nasty, im not going near it ever again. What do they use for flavor these days? Xylene?

I had none when i bought my car. I went to roofrack city in phillip for advice, they do installs. Then DIY in the middle of the parcel shelf, all i needed was a really big washer to spread the load. Cost me nothing. $1000 for 3? crikey! -

Yeah that should be easy, the pod and the muffler, but the intercooler? maybe try find a stockie to borrow. What about just springs, or even sneakier, chock the springs up with something to get it higher. If you dont plan on having kids in the car, maybe remove all child restraints? could you rego it with none? If it just for rego, get the cheapest sht you can, then change back. Front tyre load rating? what a load of.... ive never heard of that on a passenger car. -
Solar powered? No? Wires. Wireless is a lie. I say this, cos i think you might want wireless, so you dont have to hack into your cars wiring harness. Which is understandable for an m35 (thats new isnt it?) Edit: Camera needs power from back there somewhere, and you need a reverse sensor wire.

Pros and cons, Hints and tips of perspex: Its very brittle. So you need the right saw etc Perspex dust is very flammable It can be easily moulded to most shapes. Its like a thick clearcoat, so paint the inside for best effect. The heatgun is ESSENTIAL. I cut it with snips now, no dust, no cracks, but its gotta be HOT. You want welding gloves. If you find its warped or has an indent, you can heat it till it goes away. If you heat it more it goes like rubber, and you can mould, fold and stretch it. But its tough and needs force to stretch it. And its very hard to get a nice sharp corner. Heres a tip for folding corners: Drill the corner first then cut to the hole. If you dont, it WILL crack!
