  1. Owwwww Dont mind me..... just whingeing. Cant walk, very annoying. It better be right by the 14th, dont want to miss SOTS
  2. Hey rob, you know how i said my foot was sore for unknown reason.... now it feels like its broken. I know its not, but its a mystery why it hurts. Suspension tweak worked good, maybe too much camber on the back, they felt warm on the inside, whereas the fronts felt evenly warm. Straight line stability is less and cornering much better.
  3. If you go south, go via Caan river, you end up in Gippsland on the way to Phillip island, Bells beach, Wilsons prom etc Or over Dead Horse Gap above Thredbo, lovely roads both ways. Just follow the bikes
  4. Aha! Awesome! So which one is the track car?
  5. Finally!.... fiddly sht sorted. Got the front arms all the way in and can only get -1.2 degrees camber. 3mm toe in. Back is at -0.9 camber. 0 toe.
  6. Aaahhhh.. im not that clever as it turn out. I forgot that when i change camber it will change toe a little, and the adjustable upper arms on the front are well tucked up in there. Impossible to get at. So jack it up, take the wheel off, adjust, wheel on, back down, measure, back up, wheel off..... etc Anyway ill get there eventually, at least the rear is easy to get to.
  7. Smart choice. The old Triton was great, nice and reliable. Huge tray, awesome for weekend dirtbike transport.
  8. Got the toe sorted; front was 0 now 3mm in, back left was 3mm in, back right 1mm in, now 0-0. Camber next; front is 0-0 rear is -0.4 L, -0.7 R. going to -1.5 front and -1 rear. Youtube taught me this trick..... get a bucket full of water, clear tubing, tape the tubing to a ruler, suck the water into the tubing to measure the relative height of where the wheels go with the water level, then level them off with hard vynil tiles. Perfectly level to the mm. A stringline carefully set up to measure toe. A handy tool from Aldi for camber (way cheaper than a camber gauge). And get a pro to do the job....
  9. Yeah, im going to just cruise around and get to know the track. Also get to know the car better. I need training to drive fast and not stack. Hurry up time..... i want to go now!
  10. Me too! I got mine off a mates dad for $500 It was a 68 deluxe ( 1st with windup windows) with an all cast iron 850 in grey primer. How about the carbie, you tune it by filling it with a different weight oil! Hydroelastic suspension, no springs, just gel filled rubber things. Old British stuff is a bit weird, brilliance mixed with stupid and ancient.
  11. Like an old Mini, fwd, totally gutless, fkin awesome fun cars to drive.
  12. Yeah hillclimbs are not great value for money, its a strange sport, one lap at a time, no practice. Stand around most of the time talking sht. But its a nice way to spend a sunday, and SOTS isnt on weekends that often. I joined SDMA for a little track day experience, to learn what to bring and how to prepare. Its a lot simpler than i thought i would be. Like Pat and Stinkypoo said: helmet, flanny & jeans, oil, water, food, drink, and ill add a tyre pressure gauge to the list. (because im a racecar driver now!)
  13. Ok then, get a new sportbike. About $20-$30 grand. Go as fast as your balls allow.
  14. Yeah totally, but it is special for us noobs. And its right next to Goulburn, which is a large town with a few servos to choose from. No speed limit, but its NOT racing, read the regs fellas.... windows up, overtaking only on straights etc http://www.wakefieldpark.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/Briefing.pdf
  15. Im sure we can work something out....4 weeks to find a driver to get your car there. I can ride 2 bikes at the same time..... but not 2 cars...... arms arent long enough
  16. Unreliable gadgetry. A top fueller goes 0-400 in 4 seconds, on a sht run, no traction control. After watching that episode of Top Gear with the 959 and the F40..... that explains it perfectly; im an F40 guy, just the bare essentials, the driver is traction control and abs. Pure driving. I wish that there were more cars that followed the F40 philosophy.
  17. Ok... rang them and he said: Have to be over 16 to drive, under 18 you need an adult/guardian to sign for you. If mum or dad isnt coming, you could arrange one of us to sign, with their permission of course. Your drivers licence doesnt matter. You will need the AASA licence, you can get it on the day. Or if you already have cams level 2 speed thats ok. One car per pit garage, so i dunno ill see how it goes, how much room in front and what the carports are like.
  18. Dunno, ill ring em and find out tommorrow
  19. An na jza80 Supra. P plate approved, JDM style and Toyota reliable
  20. Oh, and because its a new page, to save people backtracking.... Wakefield speed off the streets saturday 14th december So come and join the fun... be there or be a rhombiod parallelagram.
  21. There you go. Im going to hire a pit garage so we have some shade and a place for our stuff.
  22. You can rock up without even a helmet.... and get nits from the hire helmets No extinguisher needed. You can get a day pass there on the day, or get AASA (dunno how?) or get cams L2s beforehand. Check the cams website, sometimes they have a special deal to join a club and get a licence cheaply. Or join SAU then get cams L2s. You need to be a member of a club to get it. I joined SDMA for mine. http://www.cams.com.au/ http://www.sdmahillclimb.com/Calendar.html http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/365434-s-a-u-n-s-w-club-membership-faq/?hl=+membership%20+form
  23. you can get a day pass, is AASA cams L2s? If it is its the way to go as it costs the same and lasts a year. Ive got a couple of old helmets, medium, dirtbike and roadbike, but its best to get your own NEW one that fits good. They are real cheap these days. cooool man....... racing with Jeremy! What about you pat? Make it 4?
  24. Only went for a little drive, barely warmed up, but its heaps better than the constant drone.
