  1. Some more midnight madness...... These bits get welded once the final tension is found. What is it? Its for mounting a window net without a rollcage. And, yes, check the CAMS manual, you can do it. After seeing the V8 180sx mounts put on with tek screws i decided my way wasnt so bodgey after all. Some strong upper mounts bolted onto the box section above the drivers window. These will have covers, so they are safe. And the bottom bracket gets hidden behind the doortrim. Ill have a door and slot for the net to come out of the trim.
  2. Spent the morning thinking about it. Im about as bad as this. Silly me, but just trying to make a point about privacy and the internet.
  3. Not real clever mate, dont mention that stuff, people judge. Everyone thinks im such a nice guy.............. cos i keep my mouth shut. So now you may have to give the full story or people are going to make it up for themselves. Or dont mention it again and hope people forget. Just remember, if you post it on the net, everyone can see it, and its there forever.
  4. I saw an ad on Gumtree, a guy selling a whole bunch for $50 Also try ACT want to buy thread, some guys probly have one lying around.
  5. I like it, but people can hear you coming 5 minutes away, and on the highway it gradually deafens you with the drone. Personal taste. Yes im still in.
  6. Didnt you just pass rego at Dickson? What are you worried about? Im going. They cant do me for anything that easy. Maybe too loud, but i have 2 mufflers that are quiet so i can clear that easy. My non ADR mods are well hidden.
  7. Hmmmm....... We need a scout with a radio. My cars a bit too loud................ and stuff.
  8. Like make sure the handbrake is on. So you dont kill yourself.
  9. Making brackets for my window net. The upper ones will have covers, so they are safe, the bottom is hidden inside the door trim. It has a quick release system and a tensioner. So on track days it will come out of a slot in the top of the trim, and when im finished i open a little flap, take it out, then shut the flap, and fit an inset to fill the slot. Photos when im done. This kind of thing is tricky, but i think i came up with a good solution.
  10. Yeah, a timing belt idler or the tensioner. Stop thinking about it and have a look before it breaks.
  11. If i was good with electronics, id make a new controller. It has to recognise the switches at the top and bottom, so it turns off at the right time, and doesent strip the gears. Tricky. Maybe gut one from another car? I dunno. Swapped back to the old muffler today. Someone re welded my pipe, now it fits even better. Sweeet. No more melting the bar. Thanks man, its heaps better. Planning my lower bumper bar / bunny bar, so this doesnt happen anymore Also my $20 pyrometer, the window net and mount came today. Think ill cut a slot in the top of the door trim, and mount the bottom of the net in there.
  12. 32s are old. They break by themselves. 2nd hand ones barely work
  13. I use a piece of string like the nengun one does. And a ruler. That one looks like a fancy ruler, big cost, no advantage. The laser one claims high accuracy, thats nice. Seen this vynil tile method? He craps on quite a bit, but the wheel levelling method he uses is nice and easy for diy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZoL1gaWedA Ps: i found -.9 camber on the rear was too much, the tyre was much hotter on the inside after a lap.
  14. Wish i could buy this. http://www.j-spec.com.au/auction/1991-NISSAN-SKYLINE-5514957.html dunno what it will be by the time you see it, but it started at 8000 jpy
  15. Front bar got hammered by the driveway at Maacas Charnwood. 2 cracks, loose mesh, and a dent in the oil filter. Faaaark, i should stop driving it around town, im just wrecking it. Its heaps happier living in my shed getting fixed and modified. Hmmm.... a mini bull bar and bash plate just at the bottom of the front bar.... maybe that would work. Then i can gouge out their driveway and watch the sparks fly. Yeah thats the way to go, time for some welding.
  16. Power? What about suspension? And a good diff isnt cheap. You cant use the power if you dont have a good diff. Fix all the shtty bits first, then youll be broke again. But your car will be reliable. And yeah its: turbo, boost controller, fuel pump, injectors (no rail or fpr needed), exhaust, Pod & cold air box, Nistune ecu. And a tune up. Not cheap. Did you fix that timing belt? Its all for nothing if that belt goes. Dont worry about shiny bits just yet.
  17. Ahhh, well i have a secret weapon. Bluey dog in the back window is actually a toy you get when you donate to the Police legacy fund. Ive never had trouble with him there. Support your local law enforcement, and make life easier for yourself.
  18. What did i do to my car today............. Gutter rash on the Volks.
  19. pm sent From: Team Belco
  20. I got a couple of 52mm Autometer gauge brackets. Those cup shaped ones you screw onto something.
  21. These fit? They are the std ones in a Nismo box. And i have about a hundred of these tins, they are metal with a plastic lid that seals fairly well. Good for nuts and bolts etc.... Take as many as you want, people.
  22. Saturday the 14th I think they open at 8, dunno when scrutineering starts, so ill try get there by 8. So ill leave about 7:15 - 7:30
  23. I agree with Jeremy, Victorian mountain and coastal roads are the nicest, also the Snowys, and south coast mountains, ( Bega valley, Brown mountain etc) Good thing is its all joined up and nearby. Motorcyclists live for this kind of thing, so check out their forums for the best roads in the country. For example the ride to Phillip Island from here is real nice, if you take the same route all the riders go. Ps: Cape Otway is nice in summer... in winter it can be an Antarctic blast in the face.
  24. All better. Weird though, it hurt worse than a twisted ankle, but only hurt for a few hours. I dunno, just a reminder im not young and spry anymore.
