  1. Pretty good, the diff works great and the tyres are pretty good too. Some understeer, but i dunno if its the car or me, as it was only a couple of times. And my best lap had a big mistake at the first corner, stuffing the second and third cos the first 3 are real close. With calmer driving i should be able to get under 50 seconds easy.
  2. Thanks guys. Great day, not many laps because there was 57 entries. But heaps of awesome cars to see. Lap times here: http://sdma.heliohost.org/WebDisplayBoard.php Some cars: And Rob is a fkn legend, any who dispute this are FOOLS!
  3. Yeah grab em no $$ the idea is to save you money
  4. Yeah steel is the smart choice. but i mean the muffler, isnt that stainless, do you need a flange for it, or has it already got one? just they are $40 each and ill never use these, so rather than pay for one, get mine for nothing. If you need it.
  5. For sure! Taking the boy to see a REAL steam train today.
  6. Rob, i have a 3" stainless flange if you want it. Actually got 2 but youd only need one right?
  7. Thanks man Totally heaps better. The old vlsd was flogged out and noisy, was pretty much an open diff as it liked to spin one side. The Kaaz is really solid and i get a bit of clunk and shudder when turning sharply, like in a carpark. But its getting better and theres no tyre chirping. The wheels are on, ready for sunday hillclimbs:
  8. For example Things like this are easily recognisable
  9. Leather, wanks and latte....... Im curious...... but the missus would leave me if she found out.
  10. Trojan are a federal dealer.
  11. Return line fuel cooler and Kaaz 2 way diff.
  12. Like this: And some midnight fabrications:
  13. for sure a bit of permatex No 3 and itll be good i only used rubber grease on it before
  14. My fibreglass bonnet is heaps lighter than the oem steel one Havent fitted it yet, will have bonnet pins for sure
  15. fuel tank is out, pretty easy to do heaps of dust and crap all over it Looks like the leaks are from the filler or the vent line or the filler overflow line. anyway all hoses are being replaced and ill have a look at the filler tube gasket. a fresh coat of tar underneath would be good too If i turn up for scrutineering reeking of fuel, illl fail for sure.
  16. Wow... that diff is good! Very hard to break traction now, the federal rsr help too. Now i can use more power! BUT it stinks of fuel, somewhere from the back, better fix it before it bursts into flames.
  17. I just got a Kaaz 2 way installed by Award diff and gearbox in sydney. Very happy with it by the way. It came with oil..... BUT it doesnt last too long, it breaks down with the flogging it gets from the clutches. Especially on track day. They advised me that there is basically 2 types of oil for lsd diffs: 1. the good stuff which has the friction modifiers bonded to the oil molecules - i cant remember which brands though 2. the ones that basically have the friction modifier poured into the oil, wont last half as long before its stuffed and you need an oil change. Any way the girl on the phone sure knows her stuff.
  18. All fixed now. Picked up a shaft from a local import wrecker. By the way Duncan, i owe you one for sure, you took it down for nothing, and the freight company charged a fee for being late, not actually delivering it to me, and damaging it. So tell us when your down this way so i can buy you a case of beers or something.
  19. First blood! Thats how to bond with a car. Your going to keep this one for a while i bet.
  20. ill be there at 730 but i have to enter first, ill make sure to tell you if i get in or not. Ive only just done the figure 8s as instructed to get oil through the clutches, it feels weird, i havent driven it for 2 weeks. A few more drives and ill see how good it is, my technique is to work your way up to it gradually, and you wont stack.
  21. Now my car goes, i can enter. Entries close 8pm tomorrow. So scrutineering starts at 730 am, If its got a good mount, yeah. Thats what mines lacking. Duct tape wont pass. Gus, it was $1890 fitted, with some, not all, new bearings and seals. Fk i love these wheels!
