Goran was in it last year, and he shutup a few of the bogans when he let the wheels rip after some smart ass comments so i was told. but there wont be many there, jap cars really aren't well received at the nats, and the ones that go run a risk of having their cars damaged, read: brake fluid in water pistols, sprayed on the paint. but i'll be there with bells on, if i still have my R33 by then it will be staying at home for that week, cops go crazy defecting us and i really dont want the hassle.

Hawker College Formal Run 8th December
Veilside R33 replied to jnr_j's topic in Australian Capital Territory
im out, im doing the Lanyon formal and wont be able to get back in time for you guys. im dropping off at i think 6:30.in a massive 17 car convoy MUAHAHAHA!! will be amongst some of the hottest cars in canberra. so i wont be able to get to belco in time (without some severely spirited driving) but i may just cruise down to old parliment house after and wait for all ya'll then tag on the back just before you roll in. -
either neither lol but its closer to a bleed vavle its a trust phneumatic boost controller with an in cabin dial. but its really just a fancy bleed valve. i was going to go to ed's at like 4:30 tomorrow evening just before he closes so i could get a bit of advice and then go straight accross to the Jerra pub. but i dont think i cbf hanging around at the pub for a couple hours untill everyone starts turning up.

epends on where you are. in most places your only allowed to have one different means of induction (i think thats the term) so either a pod filter or FMIC. in canberra however you can have whatever you want. but if you start modifying your car to be completely legal you can forget it immediatly, its basically a matter of hiding what you have or accepting that your gonna cop defects.

from what youve said its alot more involved than you think. before running higher boost, you'll want either a full cat back or turbo back exhaust, your current exhaust wont be able to get enough air through it once boost is turned up, so you wont gain much power as the engine will be hurting itself as it struggles to force the air back out the exhaust, kinda like tyring to push an orange through a drinking straw. i'd also suggest getting a pod filter, once the boost is turned up the turbo will be sucking in a hell of a lot more air, having a pod filter will suck in more air and do it more efficiently and faster, thus feeding the turbo the extra air it needs. in regard to the boost controller you will need, i'd suggest staying away from bleed valves (they are a valve that fools the turbo into thinking its getting less air so it spools harder to compensate, which turns into more power, correct me if im wrong guys but this is the basic premise right?) i would go with an electronic boost controller (something like an apexi or hks) as it wont spike and its much easier to control what boost you run and easier to adjust. also it would be a good idea to install a front mount intercooler (FMIC) as the days are getting much hotter, if you run higher boost the car will get much hotter and likely doing damage due to overheating. the FMIC will cool the engine and keep your running temp nice and low. and it will also give you more power. your current ecu will have a boost cut installed but shouldnt come into play unless you run very high boost, dont run your boost cont over 12psi, as the stock turbo, clutch and internals will most likely sh*t themselves eventually. so thats a brief run down for you on what you'll need to get started. im sure i have some details wrong so guys please feel to correct me. hope that helps Andrew.

nah im honestly kinda looking forward to just driving something basic, that has a nice stereo, and a good cruiser. and as much as i hae to admitt it, i think i'll enjoy the VL for those reasos, but pulsars go ok. currently thinking about getting this one.... http://www.cardomain.com/id/x_a_d_0_0_d specs: 88 n13 nissan exa turbo ca18det engine out of a 180sx 11 000kms on the engine 156 000kms on the car gold/woodgrain paint job manual vg30 turbo front mount intercooler turbosmart type 1 bov nx alloy rims 2" exhaust to a 4" cannon series 3 seats lowered on monroe gt gas shocks and pedders springs tripple core radiator new timing belt new water pump new rocker cover gaskets tint central locking tyres and brakes in good condition boost guage new battery rhino car alarm comes with heaps spares… odd bits, standard 180 quarter mount intercooler, spare t25 and few other bits…. will need about 2k to get it finished and fully registered (water pump and a few other small things also need replacing) but its not likey as i'll have to get it sent from sydney and without having someone up there fully inspecting it its to risky. but i'd love to go back to an exa, but it just seems like way to much hassle when i could get the vl as a good cruiser for $3500

yeah i know the one, used to be around my area heaps, but havn't seen it so much anymore. i constantly kep hearing stories about that car doing some seriously dangerous sh*t. dont know if it still has its spinners on the rear anymore though? anyway my advice is to keep away from it.

Thoughts on why my new b/c wont work?
Veilside R33 replied to Veilside R33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
ok theres that problem sloved, i guess the next question is: why does power cut out at 7psi or over? my mines ecu should have taken out the boost cut. -
 we''l leave it at that hey?

hey guys, i just fitted a trust phneumatic boost controller to my R33, i turned up the boost to about 6pound and when i gave it a boot the unit made a big whooshing sound (almost like a BOV) now the unit is cabin mounted, and threre is a small factory hole in the unit that the air is rushing out of. its obvioulsy meant to be there and apparently it bleeds of excess air? (so im told) but the car wouldnt really boost anyway, there was no power difference, but when i turned it to 7pound (limit of the factory boost gauge) it cut out, it almost felt like a rev limiter just slowed the car right down, you could also hear the car just die. i boosted it a few times and this happened every time. i have a mines ECU so this should remove the speed and boost cuts right? so i cant think of what is causing the car to seize under boost, but it must be something to do with the air rushing out of the controller? ive never heard of this happening b4 and it seems awefully strange.

lol how about a vl with a skyline front? sky-odore? its all good, its actually a nice clean VL of a friends im getting, nissan engine at least, has a nice big stereo, very comfy and air con (thank god for air con on days like this) besides im over the car in a lot of ways, i cant throw the obscene amounts of money at it that i want to, so its kinda an all or nothing thing. but i'll put GTR badges all over it, and big skyline performance decals on it. :bs!: :slap:

im down for something, just unsuccessfully tried to install a boost controller so im keen for a drive and maybe others thoughts on my predicament. so count me in for whatever

Smash repairs who not to use

if you want a good smash "creator" use quikeze towing, they did a great job of destroying and smashing my rear pod and then refusing to pay for any damage. -
Thinking about buying a porsche
Veilside R33 replied to Veilside R33's topic in General Automotive Discussion
ok well i guess that idea can be soundly put to sleep. i was considering it as it was only 5k and down the road. im not to struck on owning a porsche, but this came up and i figured what the hell? but the resounding thought is that its sh*t and a waste of money. by the way im not selling the skyline because i can't afford it, i can afford it easily, but im buying a house so the car has to go. looks like my mates VL is the go, should be ok i guess, a few nice mods, only $3500 it'll do for the time being -
Thinking about buying a porsche
Veilside R33 replied to Veilside R33's topic in General Automotive Discussion
yeah this was my main concern, servicing etc. i just searched and a few reveiws came up saying that servicing and parts arent to bad. were they all turbos are are some n/a? -
hey all. as my car is for sale because im buying a house, im downgrading considerably to around the $5000 mark. im most likely going to get a stock v6 vl commodore and keep it stock for a few years. however this popped up, and is in only down the road from my house. Porsche 1982 924 porsche. does anybody know anything about them? most importantly are they quick? reliable? basically any info you can give me on them would be great. it also sais it needs new torque tube bearings, and i have no idea what they are. so im thinking with some nice rims and a black respray it could turn out to be a little gem, and i can tell people im 19 and own a porsche haha.

hey guys, i bought the new GTA for my ps2 the other day, and after a few days of play it started cutting out, the game would just freeze and have to be reset etc, and now after driving a car for about 15seconds the game freezes. i have been told it may be my laser and it may just need cleaning. ive heard of complete quides to servicing a ps2 are on the net? has anyone heard of these or do you know whats causing my problem? im happy to service it myself, i'll just need the info on what to do etc.
