Sorry to hear mate. Nic's dad's van had the same thing happen in Brighton on Friday night too. Luckily for her she parked on the drive but it meant the van had to park on the street so could well have been her had they been parked normally. There was also no sign of the object so not sure if it was a pole that was then taken away but no sign of a brick or object. Really sucks, losers.

Along the lines of being disappointed at receiving the infringement and consider myself a safe driver with impeccible driving record (no points, fines, claims or convictions in nearly 10 years of driving). I didnt write anything that could be perceived as condoning the speed. Nor anything about driving through numerous camera zones all the way to Geelong daily incase that was misinterpreted too. Essentially a remorseful letter to the issuing officer.

Good words Geoff and I know I have spoken with several times on this subject before at meetings. I appealed my 107kph in a 100kph on the Westgate Fwy (caught by the camera on the reverse side of the Altona bridge) on my own with a simple letter to the issuing officer and was given a firm letter back but waived the 1 point and fine. This is revenue raising at its finest. UK was 10% plus 3 and most traffic travels far above that on the motorways but am here now so no point aspiring to that limit for me. Very unlucky mate getting that and you can bet the next school day, 50 mums would have sped through it at least and be home that night with no infringement. Definately appeal it and credit to Geoff for the above post. I have a fairly standard letter that I sent but do know that you need your licence for a minimum of 5 years to appeal it based solely on the letter as it didnt work for another SAUer. Am all for adhering to speed limits and ordinarilly more so for residential/school zones but this does suck.

Agreed, definately none of the above especially given the industry you work in. I wouldnt go a ute for the same reason despite their towing capability but agree on the Typhoon or another sportier Falcon

Leave approved, am in

I also saw that on the website last night and would be interested to know. Also how does the handicap category work? Fantastic result to Snowman and Blaise, you both worked hard for it with track days/events in each others cars. Outstanding effort guys. Well done to everyone else with Bigbird/Littlebird combo being rookies and doing so well, Juz and Bris in the crazy silver bullet, James in the Aston and Scotbags for pulling those results off after such an unfortunate weekend mechanically! BTW - There was almost a prime photo opportunity as Juz went to drive the ACRA final course. Just about to roll up to the start gate and she went to pass her handbag out the window to........................... Handbags! but it went back behind the seat Well done again all, top effort by everyone

Exactly right, infusion You can do other fruits too like water melon. Jamie Oliver showed how to on one of his shows which took a couple of days to make. From memory he put a small hole in it and kept topping it up with vodka and then on the night of the party, cut it into slices

Happy Birthday mate, catch you soon for some drinks

Cars look ace guys, best of luck. Black rims look great snowcone. What is Blaise's flag, looks like the Japanese one?
-
Exactly right. Mine jumped this year purely down to the car from what Shannons said which makes sense as there are a lot more on the roads than 12 months ago however doesnt help my cause having never made a claim. Also the area you live in can go through a spate of crime and force premiums up although admittidly this is more of a longer term increase (3-5 years or more I would say).
-
Thanks Scotsman and Min for getting them done
-
Will be up for the spectating again but going to bow out of entering this year, maybe another time, will still be good to see everyone racing though.
-
Well done Adz, forgot that one, thanks to Corrine for the shirts. Mine has just emerged from the dryer after a tip from Ash about shrinkage and now fits nicely! Good work from Team NSW on making the trip and I see Sunshine is lurking on here too so obviously made it back safely. Great bunch of guys and girls and definately made the day and night memorable.

Your priorities should dictate the area you choose IMO. Do you want high growth as you mention getting out of Sydney for a few years so sounds like you might want to try and get back into that market? If you intend on staying in Melbourne, there are a lot of affordable suburbs on the outskirts but most likely won't experience the same growth as inner city. I wouldnt go to Geelong if you need to commute to Melbourne daily or even a few times a week. I worked there for nearly a year, commuting 3 times a week and don't recommend it. It is only 1 hour to the CBD from there, if you pick the right time of day. If you are coming into Melbourne from Geelong in the mornings, it is horrendous and crawling for several kms. If you are after the family style home with land and not worried about whether it increases 10K in 2 years or 100K, there are many nice places but 200K isnt a huge budget. Gippsland can be nice, there are some nice areas and some rougher ones, talk to GTIRR on here who grew up in the area and might be able to offer some advice. Melbourne is definately the place to be but depends on priorities as to where you want to be

I wonder if Snows will be thinking the same after he drove mine around there too!

An absolutely awesome weekend, huge thanks to the organisers and timers on the day. I got a little burnt but not too badly so hopefully all the marshalls survived. Car was going well but will see how it was really going with the times. Tom, Gareth, Tash, Nathan and myself went to the FPV DECA today for an hour or so. A very different setup to the SAU ones. They use the back track but not the basketball court and have the end garage about 100 metres past where our one is normally (they were running it the opposite way to our one yesterday). This would make for interesting finishing with an uphill garage. The courses were very tight and anyone who has done the Moorabin Airport Motorkhanas, the courses are very similar to that. Super tight, low speed and only using a small part of the skid pan. I would say there were about 20-25 competitors there in a variety of Utes and Falcons of different ages. Drive back was pretty uneventful except for the toaster van carrying at least 3 sheep! Had a great shot lined up with the side window but the sheep moved as I took it! :laughing-smiley-014: Awesome weekend, catch you all soon. Few pics below to get started with from my phone.

The two bunnings stores I went to (Altona and Nepean Hwy) only had plastic bracketed ones. Autobarn do metal bracket ones for $35 and have redesigned the clip which is now made of a more durable metal than the soft crap that snapped on only its 3rd time of getting the extinguisher out.
