  5. Does anybody see many interesting kei models in Japan, or know of any decent sites with good pictures? I've googled a bit and can't find much I've picked up a cheap part time awd turbo Alto as a daily driver (80 min round trip to uni and back, sick of putting lots of km on the DR30) and I'm actually quite enjoying driving the thing! Its stock and gutless, but downhill its a lot of fun and not overly slow (which is saying a lot as the DR runs semislicks as daily tyres) I'm just interested in seeing what can be done (mine has the sohc efi turbo 550cc... looking at possibly going a F6A frontcut conversion) and what sort of looks can be achieved.   10. Pretty much every dickhead that comments on my car calls it a bloody R31. If I'd wanted something softer I would have bought a GTS or GTS-X, but I went for the harder edged '30, but no-one seems to see the difference

  16. Dunno about forklifts but it was in the Patrol in carburetted form. Andrew, I don't think its god, just good Anyway, I still have love for the '31s, you just get some better reactions when you bag a car than praise it. And secretly I did want to turbo my TI, talked to Grizzlor a lot about his conversion. I just think they'd be better with the JDM rear end, James (from the bbq) GTS2 handles really nicely as does Shannons Pintara but I think they'd be better again with IRS. Shannons car with its Y31 coilover conversion is my aim for the DR30, I'm in front as far as mechanical grip goes I think but mine is a lot sloppier and new bushes and heavier sway bars would allow me to use the tyres even better
  17. Don't get me wrong, '31's are a good thrash car because theyre cheap and somewhat reliable, but I'd never bother to spend money modifying one
  18. Karina, weight affects more than just quarter mile times. Straight line is passe. Drift is teh ghey. Real corners are good. Yeah, I know that a stock TI can be quick in corners, it just takes a farking good driver. My completely stock TI ran away from the rest of the SA boys up a road I hadn't driven one night, and that was all the others in silo's and GX's with filter, exhaust, suspension and tyres... But now in the DR30, with bugger all extra power over stock I can get through a set of curves soooooooooooo much faster because the car is lighter and sticks to the road so much better. I'm much happier with the DR than I was with the TI even though I don't like the round tail lights and other telltail Skyline bits that are on it or the Skyline stigma that goes with it. It's a bit quicker but feels so much better on the road, the only '31 I've been in that comes close is Shannons Pintara but thats got coilovers and new sway bars and stuff that I havent done with the '30 Fatz 4 door probably handles a shitload better because it doesnt have an anchor sitting in front of the front axles anymore. And I reckon I could whup your 11 sec TI's from one hills town to another
  19. Nup, its a TI, its not worth bothering with. Actually scratch that... its an Australian R31 so not worth bothering with. Too heavy, live rear end, whiny diff and a VL motor
  20. Oh god no..... theres no way on earth I'd watch that You do nit-pick a lot Karina, and RB30E+T's still make bugger all power in any case, George's TI is still making less than my stock FJ20ET I think I still think TI's are too heavy to bother modding anyway

  22. Hmmmmm.... thats quite do-able. Only problem is that I rarely even use 124rwkw... dunno if I could justify it 110+mph trap speed would be fun though What sort of trap speed should a standard DR30 RSX get... 90ish?
