  1. Road Traffic Act says whether you need to be present while the car is being defected, from memory I don't think you do have to be, because it says something about making sure the defect notice is securely attached if the operator is not present.
  2. Jesus H Christ. Who wrote theirs off? And does anyone have a pair of R30 steel wheels they dont want anymore? I need another two for something I'm working on Cheers
  3. If we see one another while driving... post a couple of details so we know who is who I think we all know who has what, but post other people you've run into aswell Me - DR30 RSX coupe, white, Jenesis front bar, plate offset to the right, Enkei 7 spokes, big-ass muffler, about as high as a tractor, usually dirty as hell. And atm, Tekamon lights and filler/grille, and a MR30 bonnet (Because I can)
  4. I'm after another couple of 16*8 rims for my DR30 Not hugely bothered by style. Either pm me here or email adam.bills@(nospam)gmail.com Cheers
  5. Thats sweet... and theres a Detomaso Charade in front of it in one pic
  6. Haven't done the beast engine yet Tim? Btw, fkncrzy is trying to get in contact with you
  7. I guess I'm going to have to do mine soon now lol
  8. The British is good for a meal, Kuava Hut if you want to get off your face, The Banque would be cool except its usually full of wankers, Pink Pig closed down a while ago I think.
  9. I took my DR30 through, got it passed first time. Just make sure the car is clean and presentable, same with yourself and don't act fully uleh Oh, and the only ADR's it has to adhere to are the ones on one of the forms you should have already, I think it might have been the 'approval to import for registration' one?
  10. Check the VL forums... someone on there is bound to know where your badge is
  11. My car came in through Yahoo, a friend bought it from Yahoo then I purchased it from him because he didnt have time to finish registering it before his holidays finished. Body was good apart from a couple of small things (badly bogged and painted smack on front right guard, holes in boot lid from big GT wing and some less than 100% paint but I couldnt care about that), engine seems to be in good health (made 124rwkw in shootout mode, manual S13 SR20DET with equivalent exhaust/filter made 113rwkw), diff seems nice and tight, adjustable shocks are tight and came with a few extra bits... Watanabes, KYB adjustables, HKS 3 inch and pod and a Jenesis front bar. Interior is pretty cacked but meh who gives a toss about that. I think my car is a reasonably good example and doesnt seem to be anything like some of the stories I've heard about dodgy johns cars. When I've got some spare cash Yahoo will be the first place I'll be looking for a Kei car, i figure my DR30 came out ok so I may as well give them a chance
  12. GTS-R is a homologation special like like a Cosworth RS-500, and I wouldn't call that a sports car. Sports cars are small, light and have an emphasis on handling
  13. Hahahahahhaha my standard JDM Charade GTti managed a 85mph terminal speed
  14. Pity the fools that bothered to nick Isottas... Says he with an Isotta.... awful bloody wheel, pity my Momos are too too small edit - This motivated me to fit the small Momo instead of the Isotta
  15. Rann is a dumbphuck But anyway, the Summary Offences (Misuse of motor vehicles) Ammendment Bill was introduced in 2002 but I can't remember it even being reported by the media. Looking at it I don't think its terribly unfair... sustained wheelspin, fair enough... ripping up an oval, fair enough.... engine or tyre noise that disturbs other people, thats drifting, burnouts or the morons that do 5000rpm down Rundle St, fair enough.... racing or speed testing, as long as you don't admit anything and arent caught doing anything toooo bad (dickheads speeding around suburban roads dont count, they deserve getting caught) it shouldnt be too hard to get out of it. In any case, there is no provision to sell the vehicle unless you dont pick it up within three months of the impoundment ending
  16. **** it sounds nice at idle
  17. Whats it running engine-wise?
  18. R31's can look tougher than '30's but everything else seems softer
  19. GT - Much softer in character than a 30
  20. Sports cars aren't so much about power, theyre about handling and chuckability
  21. MX5's are sports cars, RX7's are sports cars, S13's are crap. It would want to be a bloody nice S13 for me to consider buying it, with a frigging tough CA18
  22. I reckon it does if you know what you're talking about when you get pulled. All that they can do is say "It doesnt look safe". This is at their discretion but I think it would be easier to get a defect cleared and unless they can come up with something good, I'm going to keep looking for 9 or 10 inch wide rims I'm going to get some bigass Flinders Law Students Society stickers made up and I'll keep some text books in the back and I'm not going to get done over for having a pod or a big exhaust (unless its over 90db..... meh I'm going to get the exhaust redone and lose the fart can anyway) or anything Touch wood
  23. They have more power than the stock suspension and tyres will take, doesnt mean they don't handle, its just easy to go too fast. Having said that, the R200 is good because even with crap tyres I never had the back end wanting to meet the front end while doing hills blitzes (except the time I decided to try Kmart tyres with 36psi on the back lol)
