  3. My first ever ride in a turbo Skyline was driving my DR30 home after I bought it Was pretty underwhelming with a boost leak and a 1.75 inch exhaust
  4. Try Shannons, cheaper than anyone else I called Anything which is difficult or expensive to get new panels for is going to be more expensive to insure My RSX is a little bit over $500 for comprehensive and I'm 21
  5. It wasn't very likely to be anyone else lol
  6. Sounded good Crimmo
  7. Maybe $160 each isnt too bad then
  8. In regards to brake discs, I can't get the DBA's that Ghostrider posted the numbers for here Our supplier won't order them until they get a certain number of people interested. All that I'm able to get are some RDA discs (apparently the same as Brembo, but I dont know if the guy was spinning me some crap) which have to be ordered from melbourne and are $160 each Can anyone help me out? I'd like to know what the DBA's retail for interstate and if any retailers there would be able to mail/freight them to me, or if $320 is an ok price? (FRONTS ONLY) Ta
  9. Nah, they look good in any colour but white Which mine unfortunately is. Every other colour looks ok, but white makes the front look strange. The wrong angle can make the Tekamon front look weird in any colour though... In the latest HPI I don't think any of the pictures of the 4 door RSX look flattering at all. The 4wd rideheight and the completely undished wheels dont help though
  10. http://www.interq.or.jp/sun/funkids/r30map...image173110.jpg OMG Need a respray in silver and black
  11. A new crate carb 350 passed current emissions standards? Must have been choked to hell
  12. And how exactly is that going to get registered with a carby 350?
  13. What are the gear ratios in the DR30 box? And what ratio diffs did DR30's come with? Cheers

Ah k, I thought it was the boxy early 80's Lancer Yeah, DR30 does seem quite out of place, they still feel reasonably modern to drive (well... mine is much nicer than the near new Lancer I drove to other night) and don't really have a nice flowing shape (actually from some angles I think the proportions are awful) Still, its nice to see it in there, shows I bought something that still gets respect with all the other classic Japanese cars
  15. Yeah, not good pics atm, but i can email you a crap one lol pm me ur email address
  16. I found out something really cool tonight.... I manage a Blockbuster and we got a call from one of the local Video Ezy's that they had two of our dvd's, and as it was quiet I thought I'd go for a drive and pick them up. First store didnt have them (the junior who took the phone call didnt remember which Video Ezy it was) so I went to another one that I hadn't visited before. And what was sitting right outside the door? Another DR30 I walked in and all I could say was "You're kidding me" with a big grin... The dude that was working owns the shop with his brother and he has an early DR30... Non-Tekamon front, non intercooled, grey with a black bonnet. He liked my front bar Ghostrider, so thats probably two orders when you get the bars done... I need another one, sort of ground a bit off the other night... even at standard height the nose is just too long and bottoms out on some drains

DR30 doesnt, and 211 Turbo barely does I think the Galant GTO isnt much older either if its the one I'm thinking of But yeah, most are 60's/early 70's

  20. No they're not They're better optioned, better built and have better paint, but they aren't lighter than a similar spec VL
  21. Thats not a turbo officer, its the air con condensor.....errrrr the heater..... yeah... the heater... thats why its glowing red at the moment
  22. Shane.... does your new one fit up to the stuff you had made for the VG30? and if not.... want to sell it all?
  23. Nah pretty much nothng that bolts on Anyone know anyone that wants to part exchange a DR30 for a Soarer?
  24. I did mine. Piece of piss if you get the intrusion bars done properly and the fuel restrictor done. Someone had attempted to do the bars in my car without talking to an engineer so I had to cut bits out INSIDE the doors to prevent them rubbing and knocking on the glass, then get the engineer to weld around the cuts. Was a pain in the arse but not overly difficult because I had access to small dental drills which cut steel easily with the right disc and can get in to very tight spots... But you'd want to get it right first time because you wont have the luxury of being able to cut bits out once theyre welded into the doors. The rest of it is easy, just time consuming, you need to make it all look neat and tidy and like any work that was done was done properly. I got my car through Regency first try (bar the steering wheel because they wouldnt accept the Isotta as the paperwork allowing Isottas wasnt due for another couple of weeks, but they let me drive to a wreckers and buy another standard wheel and come straight back) Easy
  25. Seat belts, mirrors, Intrusion bars, sunvisors, child restraints helps to have DOT approved tyres on when you go through the roadworthy too btw why have you started an import business if you don't even know the basic requirements to register a 15 year import?
