The "why I Wont Do A Manual Conversion" Thread
darksky34 replied to AlexCim's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
wow....man....not willing to go THAT far. -
@GTTR34 point taken good sir, but I am well aware of it already. of course it will have been thrashed, what i mean is that if you have the choice of buying an older car or a newer car you're still more likely to take the newer one - based on the assumption that a newer car has had less time on earth to be thrashed (but of course this is a massive variability in reality!) and so yes, i definitely won't be paying 17k for that basically stock car. Having said that, where have you seen GTTs that go for 10-12? I've had my eye on the market for 2 months and never ever seen one that low.
-
@jack - 12 months????? oh.....my...........well I guess you're right, no point buying a piece of crap in a rush. but 12 months WOW. the 2000 is the 'series 2', from 1998-late 1999 are the series 1 and then very late 1999/2000-2001 are the series 2, i believe. minor cosmetic changes in both exterior and interior, and perhaps some changes in components but no overall major differences (from my very very basic knowledge of this history). I like the look of the series 2 much more, and, though not always the case, an older car is older and therefore more likely to be worn/used/etc etc.

@Kyuubi yep, says quick sale and anyway I don't have the minimum amount of cash yet anyway so wouldn't be able to get it off him....so here's to hoping nobody wants it =D @enka thanks. up a k is fine, the problem is finding the actual car itself - I haven't seen the car i've linked above, but nothing has really come close to that on carsales etc etc.

corrected, good sir

@cpd thanks for that, easily another 2k on top of the car + any other things which need fixing up at the time of purchase. damn. better hope I find a cheap one/one that doesn't need too much fixing! @MBS206 funnily enough, after deciding I wanted a 34, tried to find my copy of GT5 just to have some fun and......cant find it. can't even practice. sad. @b00bs hahahaha. can't wait to get my boat. will be bigger than your fridge! @ tai1or made - yeah....don't really understand much of what you said.

ok let me put it on record here, i have dibs on jetwreck's m35. I will also pay you a $1 deposit, deal? -
lol. no skyline yet.
-
Well, I currently drive a civic but have done NOTHING to it, stock as a rock - seriously what's the point? JDM is so....pointless. Anyway. anyone know why 2000 or 2001 black GTTs (manual) are so hard to find? and, say, can anyone give me a rough estimate of how much a total stage 1 tune as specified here, will cost assuming I have a stock car? help appreciated and thanks in advance!
-
awww come on guys. im saving up for a skyline, surely that counts! JDM makes me laugh. Oh wait, that means you're right they must be having more fun!
-
i don't have a skyline. can i still join in the fun?

@PN-Mad ah well, I guess indeed that rules out most stags! If M35s are out, then C34 is (obviously) my only other option - and within that, I'd only want a blue or black one, in manual. And even from my limited amount of research so far I know that combination is EXTREMELY hard to find without importing one (a route I don't quite want to go to, if possible) therefore I kind of think stags are effectively ruled out for me =( Love the car though, definitely thinking of getting myself an M35 as a family car in a few years down the track. Maybe Jetwreck will be selling his by then =) -
Yeah I don't believe it's 70 000 km either! Too good to be true. @enka, 17k is a bit out of my range, considering the fact that I may have to either organise transport for the car up to NSW OR flying down and driving it up myself...well I guess this is something I'll have to work out with the seller anyway.
-
oops sorry hahaha edited.

Hey all, I'm fairly interested in this GTT, I'm wanting to buy one and it has to be 2000, GTT, Black and manual and fairly stock. This basically fits the bill and I've been looking for 2 months or so...anyway. TBH the price is a bit high, so first of all I'd like to know if anybody knows who owns this car OR whether they are on this forum. If so, or even if not, is anyone able to check it out for me? I haven't contacted the seller yet. I just want to gauge whether anybody can help. Cheers. Any tips, knowledge etc feel free to throw my way. Car is &sort=default"]here, click please!

Fs: R34 Gtt , 2000 Model With Mods
darksky34 replied to EJD001's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
would you revert it to stock (except maybe a few things) and sell it? If so, how much? -
How much did you get yours for? Looking to get a GTT myself, black specifically. Having a VERY hard time finding a suitable one here or carsales.

cheers. What if I told you that I don't know how to drive manual yet, and I'm tossing up between the C34 and an R34 GTT? I want to learn manual and I want either one of these cars but can't quite decide which. For sure, the C34 will be MUCH cheaper. I like both cars for different reasons...And to be honest I would be driving in the city most of the time, will NOT track my car (regardless of which car). -

Sorry to revive this thread... But want to ask: would you advise against getting an auto (tiptronic) stag? I know that MOST of the models are auto anyway, but as most people say that manual is more fun, get the feel of the car, etc etc etc. and by the way, currently drive an auto, but want to learn manual (and buy a stag). -
