2000 R34 Series 2, Factory Bayside Blue 100K 271Rwkw
darksky34 replied to YF34R's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
sale didn't go through? -
would totally love to play. but not booked in! might set a team up with my mates and head down....hard to do since we're in sydney
-
ruxis - yeah, I get what you mean, and i totally understand that a value is placed on something which has been well taken care of. BUT. this doesn't mean that they are worth the prices that some people list them for. Every reply i've made in this thread, i've had your car in mind cos we've chatted about this before, but having looked around, I still maintain that in general the market price of S2 GTTs is higher than they should be. not that my complaining will actually do anything though
-
well, that's exactly what i'm saying - the changes are minimal (though apparently in terms of the engine/parts there are differences!!!) but for some reason people decide the S2s are worth a few grand more for that when they're not. if anything, they're worth more purely because they're newer, but that doesn't really indicate much when they are still 10 year old cars anyway. nor does it justify the vast difference in price.

yessir. but just basics critical thinking. need evidence. and to think when i was a kid, i'd eat 2 big macs.....

hey guys, have a flat bar road bike (VERY CHEAP) and bought this bar thinking I could just take off the flat bar and replace it with this, then my friend goes and tells me i'll need to basically buy a whole new groupset because of differences in length of wires and crap....and i've read on a fair amount of other forums that it is a massive hassle to do this. I have this bike http://www.progears.net/product.php?id=26 and it actually rides really well, and for the price, I can't say a single bad thing about it. so unless anyone can tell me otherwise, I'm looking to sell the bar, which i realise is discontinued: http://www.wiggle.com.au/fsa-colnago-omega-compact-handlebar/ but is superceded by this i believe: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/fsa-omega-compact-white-handlebar/

pics or reviews to back up your claim! or else i could say maccas is also an 8. when it is about a -9.

eightsixboy - Thanks for that, yes I've noticed there is a discrepancy between other states and NSW, it seems that GTTs are 'worth' more here...not. Having said that, I failed to mention one important thing in my last post and that was Series 2 GTTs, not Series 1s. I guess that makes the price worth a little more, but still, not the 19k that a lot of them are being listed for. I guess most of the 1998/1999 models are at the 15k mark but honestly, would rather buy a 2000/2001 model. http://www.carsales.com.au/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabID=3012965&base=1216&vertical=Car&page=1&eapi=2&keyword=black&vlist=b&WT.z_pgnsrc=bottom&Range=Price:Min%2C20000~0.5&N=1216+1246+1247+1252+1282+4294963846+4294963593+898+1622&items=[baseEnabledBadge:25GT-T]&sort=default&silo=stock

where are you seeing GTTs for 13k? I've been monitoring carsales for a few months and they rarely list for less than 15K, let along 13k (unless that's after bargaining) and in fact in NSW most of them list for 19-20k. which makes me think I might as well go and get a brand new car instead of spend THAT MUCH on a 12 year old car. ruxis - but yes I do agree, spend more and get a good car - but honestly, it has to be a reasonable amount and I don't understand why if everyone says that the market is slow now, that the cars are still priced so high. anyway, freakin difficult to find a black one....

-

-

Need A Bit Of Help Identifying Series 1/2 Gtts!
darksky34 replied to darksky34's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
cheers no rush with the sales brochures, I think I know how to tell the difference between the 2 series now without needing to consult anything! am i right in saying all the GTTs have sunroofs? freakin awesome.... i DEFINITELY plan to install every single piece of anti-theft necessary. i would be so so so crushed if someone stole my car (touchwood) hope it never happens. i'm saving up more money to specifically fund this addition hahaha. now, i need to find a reasonably priced car. -
thanks for the offer, want a manual coupe =(

Need A Bit Of Help Identifying Series 1/2 Gtts!
darksky34 replied to darksky34's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
troy - awesome, thanks for that, that's exactly the kind of differences that i've been looking for, really hard to find any actual information like that apart from asking an actual owner! that's what it feels like to me too, S2 is more refined, and i like the LOOK of it more too. yes it might be cheaper to get an S1 but I'm actually fine with the normal S2 stock kit so if i can find one for the right price then i wont be looking to spend extra $$$ on a kit. that, and also it should 'technically' be 'newer' by a year or two haha - easily overridden by a thrasher. danny - yep, seen that table and i've posted in that thread too. which one do you prefer (if you have either)?
