  1. seems reasonable. is it? http://www.redbook.com.au/cars/research/used/details/2000-nissan-skyline-r34-111344?R=111344&Silo=spec&Vertical=car&Ridx=0&eapi=2 wow man, car got screwed and so did you (in more ways than one)! sucks. never thought about that when importing though...totally didn't factor in the sea conditions HAHA!
  2. you sir, i believe, from memory, have just been to shanghai memory which yes as you said, is run by the son of the owners of night shanghai. it's slightly better looking and a TINY bit more spacious, but barely more so...anyway not complaining, cos as you said the food is JUST AS GOOD (sometimes even better?) new shanghai is A DIFFERENT company/restaurant (like kfc and red rooster). night shanghai is daddy (like burger king and hungry jacks). edit:oh and you know what, now that i mentioned companies + restaurants, it makes me think of the fact that in most cases when restaurants are owned/opened/backed by a 'company' the wankiness and therefore price jumps up. i love how most asian foods (barring a percentage of japanese) is free from such wankery edit 2: ie; MS.G's, Mr.Wong's etc etc.
  3. that seems to be a non turbo and also auto by the looks of your steering wheel? Seems to be a S2 from the colour scheme inside.
  4. Troy, how did it get destroyed and how did you fix it?!? that's kind of ridiculous...
  5. out of curiosity what is that blue bar in your engine bay? (showing my lack of knowledge)
  6. there is, like in every other area of life, a proportion of the said population who are more incompetent than the rest.
  7. yeah i've realised that (though it's definitely possible). the real question is what makes the S2s worth the few grand extra? the answer is...not much
  8. well done sir (not sarcastic). i refrain from flipping birds, i just lean on the horn a bit....oops
  9. you will find no 34 for 6000$
  10. Alright thanks for that, will check that place out! Yes, mostly stock 2 door turbo manual series 2 in black (GTT). pretty specific...and perhaps that's what is driving my price up! I'd pay around 14k depending on what has been done to the car (or not done), but definitely setting a limit to nothing higher than that.
  11. haven't had new shanghai in Ashfield, because my fave is 'night shanghai' - slightly grubbier but oh so satisfying. i've never been able to venture next door because I KNOW what i'll get in night shanghai. habits... they have 2 because they cater to different markets. there is one in a slightly dingy foodcourt (interior isn't that dingy though/at all) but the other is in chatswood chase / ie rich person's westfield / ie caters to people who may or may not know the authenticity of their food/pricing. so to put it another way, there's one which is the exact replica of ashfield pre-renovation, and another which is more for foreigners (so to speak).
  12. what did you get ?
  13. apparently not, i've emailed a few importers (sydney based) and most quotes range from 17-22k. might as well buy a new car!
  14. well yes. i totally agree. just want to suss out if there is a difference since if I'm going to drop 15k on a car I'd want it to be the better car I could have bought!
  15. doesn't look too bad at all....may try it one day! can't remember if this has been suggested: night shanghai in ashfield, or new shanghai (in the lemon grove arcade, NOT chats chase) in chatswood. ace.
  16. this. as soon as i see a GPS unit in a car anywhere near me, I will avoid that car if at all possible because from too many experiences I've had people veering left and right or going slowly/not paying attention because they are looking 'oh am i meant to turn here' it's freaking stupid, just plan your route before you drive or park and have a look at where you at. The only time I use a GPS is if i have my gf next to me so she can read it and give me direct instructions, that being said, that's only ever if we go somewhere i've never been - and that being said, i'll most likely have memorised myself with the route beforehand. as for the rest of the rules - personally roundabouts are USEFUL in that there's no need for traffic lights yet STUPID because nobody knows the rules around them, and everyone just wants to go, and you get people just flying through them even when it's not their right of way. can i have a bb gun too? automatic if possible. not kidding. basically I reckon If you're driving then DRIVE and don't try and eat, drink, play games on your phone, talk on the phone, chat on whatsapp, etc etc just pay attention it's quite stupid to do otherwise.
  17. Oh I see, damn that is a real situation for him and you! Will be one lucky kid if he still gets it
  18. so Aaron, as a general 'thought', do you mean that most insurance companies will try to pay you as little as possible - and therefore you should try and fight it as much as possible? Though this obviously should change if you have illegal mods right? may be a stupid question to ask since we ARE talking about insurance...
  19. would be good if you melbourne folks could test it out for us in other states =D as for the merch, it's all optional like the suits / uniforms etc, on the day they provide free jumpsuits (you can't keep them obviously) but you can also just wear whatever you want. as for the other stuff like tshirts, cups...er....waste of money yeah.
  20. what you might mean is factory 'stock' and factory 'nismo' - in regards to your 2 types. someone can confirm this.
  21. I believe they are using receiver suits, that's what I've read on their forums but I don't actually know. (Ie receivers + headset to know where they are shot?)
  22. cheers Brody, really needed the comparison from someone who's had both! That makes things interesting for me...
  23. so difficult to find a black S2 though! WHY!?
  24. do your own recoil. but seriously, that sucks a LOT - it cuts realism by a fair bit
