Hmm indeed, maybe we wil have to start cutting the obilgatory tunnel run from the cruzes  their messing with tradition here!!!:)

PS:Hey Chris u got the money for the Coctail party? Trev wants to get it by tonite, so we should go round for some fri arvo drinks me thinks :)

the tunnel is a nice bit of road. i think they should increase the speed and start kicking all the retards off the street who have caused multiple accidents.

although it proves the government is mainly after money.

and what happens with the plates between 60 and 80??

or 50 and 80 for that matter. :starwars:

yeah its common in Japan.Saw it in option magazine, its kinda like a thing to hold your plates on the top.And when the wind resistance is like 80km/h,it flaps back into your fmic.I think you can d.i.y(i think i saw a flapping plate black r-33 in perth).Yeah its automatic,oh did i say this is highly illegal?do at your own risk. This is not japan.

is that a turbo?

in the real kit, theres a specific resistance set to the springs or whatever.they come up with everything in japan.I think i saw this japanese video of a car with one,at low speeds it kinda flaps lightly.Once again,it is not a good idea to do this mod on our local roads.

As much as i hate speed camera's and love speeding though the tunnel..

this is about the only time i agree of the placement of a camera. They are FIXED camera's so everyone knows about them, theyre not hidden like the multinova's we see on the side of the road all the time. This time theyre real purpose is to save lives.

A tunnel is a closed environment and there are only two ways into them, if anything goes wrong it can escalate dramatically compared to an open air environment.

I have my good side saying ' yeah, great idea'.. my other side saying ' screw that, i love speeding through there' hehe

Being fixed i agree at least we know its there - its patrolled so regularly anyway the only difference its going to make is the fact we know. But has anyone tried to read their speedos (with lights off because i cant be bothered putting my lights on just for 5 secs) while going thru tunnel - its impossible u cant see your speedo!!

I go thru tunnel everday usually in peak hour where if you reach 50km an hour then your doing well so i dont really care - just pick up the pace outta the tunnel.

Obscuring your number plate is a 50 dollar fine. Hell, even taking it off is a 50 dollar fine. Getting caught doing 140 in the tunnel... big fine, loss of licence.

This may not be japan, but basic economics implies which one of those options you should pursue.

Bike riders have been putting their rego discs over their back plates for years, its common practice. I drove my old car around for 4 weeks with out a front plate, and 6 months without a rego sticker. I even drove around for 2 years with a front plate missing 2 numbers because id had an accident and a tow ball went through the middle of the plate.

And when i DID get caught for it? Out the back of Kewdale on a Sunday night with a bunch of Silvia lads? They told me to put it on the back instead!!!

50 bucks every 2 years? Or loss of licence every tunnel run?

Take your chances.

kewdale - i love kewdale its a very rare occasion u see police or radars there.

I know a guy that got caught going thru a radar and you couldnt see the last two numbers of his plate - it took them 6 months but they tracked him down. Im getting radar detector for birthday pressie - i know they slip up occasionally but its better than nothing - when u pay $450 for nizmo plates u aint exactly too eager to hide them. But i know what your saying when i had my z31 someone backed into me and the panel shop lost my front number plate so i drove around in it for a couple of weeks til they found it - wasnt pulled over.

Hehehe my favourite play ground, all the roads are nice and wide :D

Dowd St is nice, long, wide and has a nice sweeper at the end... Look for Nissan HQ at the start of it. Lay a couple of nice black lines out the front for the lovely people at Nissan to come to work to on monday morn :P

Not that ive done that or anything. I don't engage in such nonsense.

    • Here's the chart for fuel pressure vs. current draw, assuming your base fuel pressure is 3 bar and you run like 0.5bar boost on WOT, you should only momentarily hit 9amps here and there. (Ignore my prev post, I cannot read a chart these days it seems)
    • Those comp test results are not hideous. Whether they are accurate or not (ie, when that comp tester says 140 psi, is the real pressure120, 140 or 160?) is unknown to us. The state of the battery used to crank it over is unknown, etc etc. Many people around here would say that the absolute values and the spread are perfectly fine to just add boost and keep going. I personally would be happier with a narrower spread than that, but even the diff between 125 and 145 is not terrible. That one cylinder at 125 though, has probably copped some damage relative to the others. You should inspect the valves seeing as you've got it open. Do you know how to measure installed ring gaps? That, and an inspection of the rings themselves, is how you will determine whether they need to be replaced. If you're not good to do these things, take the block and the pistons and rings to a shop that is, and ask them for the go/no-go on them. Do the bores need a hone at all? If so, you might well be justified in getting some different pistons in order to get away from the ring supply problem. Whether you're happy to spend a lot more money right now, on more gear, rather than less money, but an amount that looks stupid given that you will only get a handful of rings in exchange for that money, is for you to decide.
    • also possibly backed up to my filler and shat down it! 🤣
    • Ok so i would love some advice here please, i purchased an R33 a few months back and its had a few mods done to the engine, its an RB25det running a Master ECU, 1200cc injectors, bigger turbo, oil cooler, oil filter relocation kit, Spool H-beam rods, acl/ross pistons. When i removed the motor from the vehicle (as its getting a respray) i thought i would compression test it and these are the following results. Cylinder 1-145psi, Cylinder 2-143psi, Cylinder 3-125psi, Cylinder 4-145psi, Cylinder 5-140psi, Cylinder 6-135psi this test was done with the motor on the ground and powering up the starter motor. I dropped the sump and found broken oil squirters on cylinder 3,5 and 6. I was told my rings are probably worn so i stripped the motor completely to get a new set of rings for it. The trouble is no one has these rings anywhere and they have to be custom made by Ross over in the states and will cost about $600+$200 delivery. My question is how can i tell if my rings are at fault and if they are still ok and is this price ok for a set of rings?
