I own a r34 gtt, awsome car, great power (208kw engine)(just a cat bak exhaust).

Few months earlier i raced a WRX(Stok AS a rock, no exhaust) in same year model (03-05), from rolling point i took him slowly but from take off the rex got at least 5 car lengths and we were slowly catching.

So i figured an STI would smoke me in a drag.

So tonight there was the STi(stok as rok aswell), 4 people in the car, in the skyline my cuz n me. We were teasing each other for a while until we came to a dead straight, nothing around.

so from 60 kmh both cars in 2nd and i was slowly leaving it, the front of his car ws about the bak whels of my car, there were a set of lights were he took of on us and left us about 5 car lenghts and we started pulling closer then he pulled away etc.

We were surprised but then i figured they are both 208kw(stock) and i guess the rear wheel drive would have an advantage from rolling.

but really i thought it would have done much better than a WRX, if there was 1 person in the STI maybe a different story DUNNO.

SO are u guys surprised or its a good result,

cheers,

You'll find that your GT-T doesn't actually produce 208kW out of the factory.......

He was probably held down by the weight.

A GT-T shouldn't catch an STi for a while (we're not talking Impreza WRX!)

I'd imagine in equal circumstances with equal drivers the STi would have done better.

At the drags or track, he would have served it to you.

My mate has a s14 with just a FMIC, BOV and turbo back exhaust and he rips 34 gtts with ease. The same car kept up with a stock WRX (just a bit faster actualy) from a rolling start.

So for your gtt to keep up with an STI, hmm, something doesnt sound right.

Huh?

If his s14 rips GT-Ts....then it should absolutely slaughter WRXs rolling start!

Right?

s14a's are significantly lighter than GTT's, the standard s14a turbo can handle 1bar of boost no probs.

true

it also depends on what mods are on the GTT :) cant expect a stock GTT to keep up with a modded s14/a

my friend's sr20 180 (not an s14 but i think its even lighter?) has roughly the same mods as me and definately does not "rip" my GTT

but stock for stock.. the sti "should" be the go, but throw enough $$ at it and it'll beat anything you want :D

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
