woohoo, just made 370+rwkw on 23psi, pump fuel, at boostworx, looking good for the nats:)

Rb30, 850hp gt42, mv electronic jatco auto

I'd say at minimum you'll be needing a Super Street Licence (11.99 and under) and a tailshaft loop-not to mention some slicks or drag radials.

Good work.

ha,ha, yeh i know, i haven't got time to cage it either,

it made 378rkw and 640nm of torque in todays 42 degree heat

11.5 a.f ratio at peak power.,23psi, pump fuel.

I actually drive it around with rag style Et streets on the road, pointless otherwise.

see what happens, good to see we are now both pushing mikes electronic transmissions

to the max!

cheers

darren

I will have my R33 GTS 4 door out there to have a crack at an 11 second pass this year to improve on its existing 12.5. Trying to do it in full roadworthy regency approved trim too with stock GTR exhaust, airbox, filter etc. (just passed full engineering inspection last week). Just a nice tune up with our laptop Power FC software and 1.0bar of boost through the RB26 should do it

heya martin, hows the progress with peter going on starting to work on 4WD's. ive just got a 99patrol turbo diesel wouldnt mind using it as a test mule if he/u are keen to try some stuff

cheers matt

I suppose its easier and cheaper to just dream it eh?

Always is:)be good to see anyway.

MattR throw a ls1 in it:)

Yeh i have heard that the timers may not be fixed in time, rumour mill in

real life and the internet is going crazy...time will tell i guess

cheers

Hmm.. full regency approved + power FC... 1.0 BAR of boost.. methinks I smell a contradiction :)

I called and asked what mods are street legal to cars the other day.. and the lady said, you can have a different exhaust so long as it's not too loud, and you can have a different intercooler + piping. Cams, turbo, fuel computers, turbos, basically anything that can make a real difference to power need to be emissions tested (3 grand, thank you very much) to see if they comply with ADR's. Basically.. err.. what was my point? Oh yes, completely street legal + 11 seconds.. I doubt it's truly possible, even in a car as mighty as the GTR... If you can do it, I mean pass a roadworthy AFTER you run an 11 second pass.. I will bow to your awesomeness!!!

Actually that would be a good way to stick it to those regency goons, try to get some fairly normal mods emissions tested, so we can all have bigger turbos etc. and have an engineers cert for it? Maybe as a group buy? We can all put in fifty bucks and put it on someones car and get it passed... ah but I bet that they require testing for each individual car *sigh*.

Hopefully my honda s2000 will be ready by then. I can't wait to get into the low 11 or better. However with the rate of work done on the car I don't think it will be able to get out of the workshop early enough for De and I to pull the head out and check the engine before 4,6&R :P

Surely they wouldnt cancel the event (outright) due to timing equipment issues? Postpone maybe, but not cancel! I certainly hope not. I'm on target to have a 'slightly larger' new turbo and manifold combo in and tuned... but a delay in the event wouldn't hurt :D

Congrats on the R31 results Darren. Shaun was telling me it's a bit hard to tame even on the ETs! Fill it up with 110 and there's 400+ to be had.

G'day Martin. You must have a new mob' or too busy at the moment? I sms'd you the other day (re a Feb06 Hot4s hose article - 'Can you write in to tell us the odd part out, though?') I can! And most of the 'odd parts' are long gone :)

Hey Matt, if you can do better than 12.74 in the TD Patrol I'll buy you a beer mate - make that a carton :O

Hard to tame....you could say that,

with et streets rags, let down to 15psi on the high boost,(23psi) it does a top fuel

style burnout in 1st 2nd and straight into top gear  , hopefully

gearing it up a bit helps alot. I thought the tyres were better than that :P

cheers

sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but a little birdy told me that they had been either cancelled or posponed due to some timing equipment issuses....

could be bullshit... not sure

Just reading on Ausrotary.com the nationals looks to be cancelled & its more than just equipment issues :D.

doesn't mention it on the air website though?

heres a email i just received from AIR. [email protected]

As of yet the meet has not been cancelled. I have been told by management that hopefully our timing system will be repaired by then. I will be able to give you a definite yes or no on the 8th. We are flying in an expert from Melbourne to analyse the problem and hopefully rectify the major problem we have with our timing system.

Regards,

Trish

    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
    • Hi Guys, Does anyone know any aftermarket part numbers for a starter motor to suit the VQ25DET? I can find lots of alternative part number for the VQ35DE, which I assume would fit, but there is a lot of conflicting information out there. Thanks..
    • I don't understand how this hasn't boiled down to - Upgrade the turbo when you have everything required. ECU, injectors, fuel pump, turbo, etc. Do it all at once.  If you don't have everything required, just enjoy the car as it is and keep saving up your pennies.
