Russ,

Blew a cooler pipe off and the resulting fireball out the exhaust set the rear bar on fire for a few secs. Nothing too serious and other than asthetics the car is all ok. Infact it's pretty good now - would like to have gone head to head with you down here but I see you guys aint on the list. I take it that means you can't make it?

There's a few regulars missing this time actually.

Up yours...

This car is absorbing my blood, sweat and tears. YellaGTRs blood, sweat and tears...its been a friggin huge effort and its almost come together. Its going to be damn close...but at the moment the final hurdle is going to be rego.

So waits and sees if i have any probs...but you two just go on sitting by the pool dinking Martinis mocking our efforts to get our car ready...did i mention blood, sweat and tears (...and plenty of abusive language!)...

LOL did i mention i have done several all nighters now and still had to go to work the next day...:P Im friggin try'n

again man if you need some help with anything give us a bell we owe you a few

You dont owe me anything. Im happy to been able to help you guys out when i could at the track. That said i may be pushing sh1t uphill this weekend so will wait and see if i need to lean on you guys!

Drove the car briefly, no miss under load, drove fine. A few exhaust leaks from rushed install of turbo, but spent most of the weekend ripping the manifold off, new gasket, studs, washers. Have new rotors, pds, diff, swayabars all to go on this week.

Fingers crossed rego goes to plan this afternoon then we are on our way with a car that shoudl look pretty neat, adn be running pretty well. My only concern is the gearbox...but new Syntrans will hopefully get us through the weekend.

HI-HO Silver!!!!

    • Alarm installs, always great to look at 🥲 Then these alarm installers then go and do automotive looms and they end up being a crock of shit.
    • Photo quality is terrible, but there's a few things on that board that give me suspicions it has some issues. Add to that, I'm hoping the cut and exposed wires under the dash were not exposed or touching each other before you pulled that all apart.
    • Stories like this are why the immobilizer installs I've done are 100% reversible. No harness cuts.
    • update; Replaced oem starter motor with a Jaylec 70-61111 car still didn't start, moved over to the alarm system unraveled the spaghetti checked the solder end points, PCB board burn smell, wiring ends, capacitors, water damage everything looked fine restarted car vroom. restarted 5 to 6 time over an hour started put every thing back together only to not have it start any more. looks like i will be removing the alarm system next weekend.
    • Lots of people. Could be a lot of things like people have said. Either the heater hose/pipe, the turbo coolant return that wraps around the back of the engine, or a core plug. I have seen all three. If you want me to guess wildly though I would bet it's one of those hoses for the turbo coolant return. Or the brazing/welding for the Y- section has failed. Get a borescope down there to be 100% sure.
