Let me put it into perspective for you mate.

NOT ALL!!!! Commodore guys are dickheads, yes I know alot of the dickheads on our roads drive Commmodores but there are dickheads in Nissans,Toyotas,Fords,Mitsubishi etc.

This is what shits me about the whole car scene alot of people whinge by saying that they get abused by bogans on the road and stuff.

Then alot of people have the hide to do the exact same shit and bash bogans and their Commodores/Falcons on a internet forum.

you will find idiots i nall types of cars

commodores, magnas,lancers,skylines,falcons,audi's,bmw's etc etc

i was a commodore driver - and one day i'll sit my big bum in a V8 again.

However im sick of people branding commodore drivers as f**kwitts and bogans.

alot of skyline owners dont like being called ricers or anything.

its just a minority.

ignore it - simple.

It's not just commodore drivers though. Boganism is a problem that infests this country.

As Ryan said above, while the mullet ridden commo driver is the steriotypical bogan, bogans drive all sorts of cars, fords, r31s, lancers, pintaras, and s13 silvias.

usually, they don't have nice cars, because they're bogans and can't get jobs.

I havent been able to get a job.

But I have a nice car. :)

this is turning into a sh!tfight and it was never meant to be although in hindsight i guess it was inevitable.

its rather like the ever occuring sr vs ca battles. instead this is commo drivers vs import drivers.

obviously dickheads drive all sorts of cars. but what intrigues me is why so many dickheads seem to drive commodores and so many commodores seem to have dickheads behind the wheel!

Its because Commodores are so cheap and they are everywhere, thats why the dickheads seem to drive them.

But they are dickheads anyway regardless if they drive a Commodore or not, they're probably dickheads even while they're not behind the wheel of a car.

Cars dont make people dickheads people make themselves dickheads.

This is why the common stereotype of "Commodores wankers" pisses me off because they arent the only guys that seem to cause trouble.

Sorry if im getting a bit defensive but I just dont like it when Commodore drivers always seem to get singled out in these type of threads.

Just getting back to the original post, I see 'Robbie Bolger' was mentioned in the same sentence as 'Commodore wanker' symbolcally .

Without going into too much detail, there was a thread over at www.nissansilvia.com where ppl were talking about the Commodores in the Drift Australia rounds. People (myself included... dunno why now! :) ) were concerned about the bogan situation if Robbies Ute or whatever Commodore started winning. You know, like bogans going to the drift rounds specifically to bag the Jap-crap blah blah blah. Robbie came back and totally missed the point and started verbally abusing (keyboard stylez) anyone who even remotely seemed like they supported Japanese cars. He behaved like an extremely spoilt 6-year old. And this Bolger dood thinks he represents the 'professional drivers' of drift Australia... that guy needs a full paid up PR representative to speak on his behalf I swear.

That thread mysteriously got deleted some time ago...

this is a great post

it's interesting that the post starts out as a commodore/falcon wanker thread and ends up a commodore wanker thread.

i personally havent met many ford fans who have delusions about ford actually having good performance cars (even though they do, just in the states) compaired to holden fans who think they're top shit. great cars for basic, cheap transport but not for much else.

people need to see commodores for what they are, cheap family transport. nothing else. HRT exempt, but the similarities between them and stock cars is just not there. i think a few people posting on here have hit the nail on the head when they say the problem is, is that commodore drivers think they're in a HRT V8 when they're in a V6 exc

if skylines were the same price as vn and vl commys there would be just as many wankers driving them .like someone else said the make of car dont make ya a dickhead .hell ive been yelled out by a wanker driving a r33 cause he thought his r33 was tougher than my r33 a dickhead is a dickhead no matter what he drives

Most bogan abuse I have copped would be from a certain age group, that I would say is in the 16 to late twenty's and is it also a coincidence that age bracket is targeted by the police and insurance COs? In my opion (limited as it is) its because they are at an age when they are in a formulative state, and if their brain power is not upto the tasks/ conclusions that bring success its blamed on a multitude of reasons and/or taken out on targets as direct verbal or physical abuse, they're angry some of this mob, some grow out of it, some don't, like the corolla driver that abused my R33 and a R32 parked in a bob janes lot, we were the only one there, he would of been in his 40-50s, and he wasn't dressed bogan like either.

As a teenager we were labeled bogans because we lived 5ks from the surf, Sawtell/Toormina, we surfed but we were still westies to the surfers and that attitude sucks! I must admit that this whole labelling thing was useful in tourist season as we were locals, so in part we behaved as bogans because thats what was expected of us, I know some of the surfers did worse than us but it was `cool' for them to do this stuff.

Bogan abuse is just an example of a certain percent of societies attitude thats it OK to abuse.

I previously had a vl calais but soon saw the light and turned to a R32 gts-t. If your from Ipswich you will understand where RB20INSIDE is coming from. For example. First week i had my car i went for a drive to the nortorious Ipswich lap. Every set of lights had 17 year old wankers in vc vb vl all sorts of commodores, revin there stock engines and just being complete dickheads. I did about 3 laps with a Red VL commodore with a homemade body kit trying to race me the whole time. Obviously being the odd one out in an import amongst bogans. On the last lap me and a mate decided to head on out after seeing the skanky girls that hang out in there and thought enough was enough when some f#$ken dickhead drove straight up my arse. MY CAR WAS ONLY 1 WEEK OLD. How do u drive up somebodies arse doing 40km/hr? Only a young moron who has no drivin skills what so ever. It took months for the smash repairs to fix it as they were so busy (obviously that shit happens a lot in there). I will never go into Ipswich lap again. But being a ex vl owner i can seriously say it does depend on the people driving the cars. So in conclusion i think its just IPSWICH lol everywhere else i have been after that, i have had a ball cruising with other imports or tough vl turbos as my mates have a few.

Dosnt mtatter what car people drive, they can be wankers either way. I seen a gy in a brand new V10 M5 Driving it like a bloody retard like he has something to prove.

Thats what happens when idiots have money..

i reckon the thing giving 4/6's a bad name is the excels/lancer/civic brigade that act liek total morons with stickers galore and i understand y commo drivers think that.

in perth we recently had motovation car show, more than 50% of the turbo cars had to give a huge rev and pshht pshhht past the crowd every single time they came near anyone, and wonder y they look and get called total idiots. very embarassing and shows lack of maturity and then some others popping flames and revving there cars for about 10 mins staight, and they just act like 5 year olds.

i see more knobs in imports than anything, and its the reason everyone with a skyline is imediately in the same category in the view of commo/ford drivers.

blow off valves should be banned from venting i reckon.

i got a stagea so no more shit from v8 knobs cause they dont even know its a performance car hehe. :D

So in conclusion i think its just IPSWICH lol everywhere else i have been after that, i have had a ball cruising with other imports or tough vl turbos as my mates have a few.

So what you're saying is that its not Commodore drivers that are dickheads, but drivers from Ipswich. :D

Dickheadism is everywhere, it doesn't just come from a badge. For every Falcodore that's done a loser flyby on me, I've had Silvias, Skylines, Supras, Soarers, Corollas, RX-7s, 318i, 206GTis, Golf GTis, etc all try and drag me or have something to prove.

It's not Ipswich, it's "the switch".

    • Fark what are the changes of that snapping like that, clean. Nek minnit, custom radiator goes in, with built in oil cooler like those discontinued PWR ones from yesterdeacades ago
    • I thought I'd do a write up on an auto transmission fluid change for a the nissan 7 speed Automatic. At some stage the genius engineers decided that the fluid in the trans was "for the life of the transmission", (which seems kind of self supporting to me) and removed the dip stick and fill tube (funnily enough there is still a casting for it). Anyway, for this job you do need 2 specialist tools in addition to regular hand tools, jack and good chassis stands. You need a way to pump fluid up to the transmission; I got one of these but there are plenty of other options: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/364584087070 Don't trust the generic listing though, it does not come with the required adapter for the Nissan 7 Speed. You need one of these, can't do the job without it: https://navarapart.com.au/product/genuine-nissan-patrol-y62-d23-np300-navara-re7-dipstick-fill-connector1 You need a heap of compatible transmission oil. Could be Nissan, could be anything else rated for Nissan Matic S. You need at least 10 litres, I had 15 to give it a better flush... Also, you need some biiig oil catch trays, at least one of these, or bigger if possible (volume was fine, size was very marginal): https://autobarn.com.au/ab/Autobarn-Category/Tools-%26-Garage/Specialty-Tools/Oil-Service/Garage-Tough-Oil-Drain-Pan-Black-16L---GT1068/p/TO03191 Finally, a measuring jug is very useful if your pump does not have volumes marked on it, I got a 6l one: https://www.repco.com.au/oils-fluids/fluid-accessories/measuring-jugs/penrite-measuring-jug-6l-pmj006/p/A5322648 Oh, and gloves.....this stuff is horrible (not as bad as diff oil, but getting there) ....First, jack up your car.....
    • So I mentioned the apprentice, @LachyK helped take the bonnet off. We just undid the nuts on the hinges and unclipped the gas struts, then pulled the bonnet back a little as the front was catching on the front bar.  I had a good look at everything today and have removed the rams, repaired/reset the hinges and bolted it back together like it never happened. I'll do a separate write up on the repair, and I also removed the poppers from the Fuga today too to save grief down the road.....as said above it is at least $5k to repair retail. I'm also happier about my ability to prepare a race car, and less happy about Nis-nault's engineering (I can hear @GTSBoy sAfrican Americaning) because the top hose of the radiator didn't slip off.......it snapped clean off. By practice I put the hose clamp hard up against the flare on a neck to make it least likely to ever move (thanks @Neil!). I guess that puts a little more pressure on the end of the pipe as it is further away from the rad, but still, that is pretty shit. I've put it back on for now as there was a fair bit of neck still there, but obviously there is no lip on the neck any more so I don't think I'll track it again until I have a new rad. Speaking of which....more research required. It looks like Koyo makes a standard size radiator in ally which I'll grab in the meantime, but I really want something thicker so might have to go custom in the medium term (ouch) Coolant still needs a refill and I have the pressure tester on it over night, but other than a wash down of the engine bay it seems alright. And @MBS206 noted something noisy on the front of the engine and I think I agree....time for a new accessory belt and tensioners I think.
    • our good friends at nismo make a diff for it, I have one (and a spare housing to put the centre in) on the way. https://www.nismo.co.jp/products/web_catalogue/lsd/mechanical_lsd_v37.html AMS also make a helical one, but I prefer mechanical for track use in 2wd (I do run a quaife in the front, but not rear of the R32)
    • What are we supposed to be seeing in the photo of the steering angle sensor? The outer housing doesn't turn, right? All the action is on the inside. The real test here is whether or not your car has had the steering put back together by a butcher. When the steering is centred (and we're not caring about the wheel too much here, we're talking about the front wheels, parallel, facing front) then you should have an absolutely even number of turns from centre to left lock and centre to right lock. If there is any difference at all then perhaps the thing has been put back together wrongly, either the steering wheel put on one spline (or more!) off, and the alignment bodged to straighteb the wheel, or the opposite where something silly was done underneath and the wheel put back on crooked to compensate. Nut there isn't actually much evidence that you have such a problem anyway. It is something you can easily measure and test for to find out though. My money is still on the HICAS CU not driving the PS solenoid with the proper PWM signal required to lighten the load at lower speed. If it were me, I would be putting either a multimeter or oscilloscope onto the solenoid terminals and taking it for a drive, looking for the voltage to change. The PWM signal is 0v, 12V, 0V, 12v with ...obviously...modulated pulse width. You should see that as an average voltage somewhere between 0V and 12V, and it should vary with speed. An handheld oscilloscope would be the better tool for this, because they are definitely good enough but there's no telling if any cheap shit multimeter that people have lying around are good enough. You can also directly interfere with the solenoid. If you wire up a little voltage divider with variable resistor on it, and hook the PS solenoid direct to 12V through that, you can manually adjust the voltage to the solenoid and you should be able to make it go ligheter and heavier. If you cannot, then the problem is either the solenoid itself dead, or your description of the steering being "tight" (which I have just been assuming you mean "heavy") could be that you have a mechanical problem in the steering and there is heaps of resistance to movement.
