i have to say they weren't as disapointing as i expected....cant really give a full on opinion coz i didnt get to go this year to hear em in real life, but they definitely sound better than i was expecting.....still not the same as the V10's, but still good :O

i thought they sounded a little lame on tv (for some reason they always do) but in real life they are farking awesome. like i said, i reckon as good as or better than the V10s.

strange this one. apparently his views on the technical running of the team was different to that of the toyota "bill payers" view of how it should be done. if i was a smaller team, i'd be snapping him up pretty damn quickly!

Gascoyne gonskiii!! oh well 8 mill pounds per year saved

Yep V8's did sound good

There are 22 teams showing interest for 2008 and beyond

Hmmm........ 44 F1 cars going around-oh the sound!!

I wish-the limit is for 12 teams only

Bring back Stoddard :)

I'm sure they are all just putting in entries in case they become interested or a market develops from teams without entires wanting in.

The fact is though that Max Mosely has won the battle, he has enough team that he doesn't need the manufacturers...their bargaining position is shot now.

I totally disagree, I love huge fields in any category it makes it waaaay more interesting....just like Bathurst was in the group C and A days with corollas racing against the v8s and everything in between.

Most top categories these days struggle to make 30 entries, for so long f1 was 20, supercars are only 32, dtm 30 and btcc about 15. pretty piss poor

oh and on a completely unrelated subject Casey Stonner got pole for tonites MotoGP!!

fcuken good on him mate... for only his second race thats damn impressive

5th... a bit dissapointing nut still another solid result. He wasnt 100% fit so i think when he is at 100% fitness and they get tyres right etc he will finish on podium more often then not :)

i dont know about you ppl but how is that teams like Mclaren and Renualt can do in excess of 1400 kms with a single engine in testing, but when it comes to race weekends you dont see shit?? keep in mind a race distance is 300kms ant they do about 100kms in practice and qualifying, so why dont we see a bit more of them in the first couple of practices?

surely it would benifit them to get the most track info they can out of a weekend? but no apparently

The lack of big names in testing etc is one reason that i am not too much of a fan of the 2 race engine concpet. In theory it is good in that i bridges that gap between teams but now we have had time to see it in practice i think that most people would agree it is not all that good. Imagine Honda asking button to pull off from a points finish so that he does not get penalised for the next race. Crazy.

And what is with the new 5 year freeze on engine development. Sure it saves costs but if hardly makes it F1 anymore. It is sad to think that they are going to retard one of the most exciting bits of F1...Technology.

The 2 race engine rule is fk crap. This rule has gotta go-NOW. Sitting around Albert park looking at a near empty track on Friday and Sat at times nowing teams are saving their engines is a disgrace. No one is saving money in F1 from this rule_all it achieves is shitty payin fans sitting around a deserted race track

    • yeh they are 235/45/17 up front and 255/40/17 in the rears. I still didn't get my answer if i can fit a 18x9 up front. I want to get 4 of this and see if they will fit before committing as they didn't see an 18x8 as an option but there is a 18x9.5 also.   Enkei RS05-RR 18x9 35mm ET 5x114.3 75.0 Bore Matte Gunmetal Wheel
    • This. The R34 handbrake icon DOES come up when the brake fluid level is low. You might be sitting right on that threshhold. I have been down this diagnosis path and this was the solution (and it was pretty much as full as your picture is to begin with).
    • Unfortunately the cavaet to that is that while any scan tool should be able to read the code, the workshop will need a consult plug to OBD socket adapter. You don't have a location on your profile, where are you based?
    • @Haggerty this is your red flag. In MAP based ECU's the Manifold pressure X RPM calculation is how the engine knows it is actually...running/going through ANY load. You are confusing the term 'base map' with your base VE/Fuel table. When most people say 'base map' they mean the stock entire tune shipped with the ECU, hopefully aimed at a specific car/setup to use as a base for beginning to tune your specific car. Haltech has a lot of documentation (or at least they used to, I expect it to be better now). Read it voraciously.
    • I saw you mention this earlier and it raised a red flag, but I couldn't believe it was real. Yes, the vacuum signal should vary. It is the one and only load signal from the engine to the ECU, and it MUST vary. It is either not connected or is badly f**ked up in some way.
