Next year will be a up n down year for the michelin teams, all having to switch to bridgestone tyres.

...another reason why Williams would be looking a safer option then Renault, a team that is likely to have two new race drivers, and a relatively young and inexperienced test driver with no experince in an F1 car on Bridgetones.

Thinking out loud...what are the chances of Rosberg being leased to Renault, whilst they give Wurz a race seat for 2007? Money for the team from loaning out Rosberg, and still two good drivers.

if MS leaves ferrari at the end of the year, then i reckon kimi will go to ferrari. not so sure about it if MS stays though. then we could possibly see a "straight" driver swap between renault and mclaren???

as for webber, i have a funny feeling he'll stay with williams. they just need to build a reliable car. but who knows......

Jenson Button has officially lost it completely:

Quoted from www.planetf1.com

The Honda driver is so confident in his ability that he believes he will go on to prove to be better that the three leading F1 driver of today, Schumacher, Alonso and Raikkonen.

Despite the fact that the list included the current F1 World Champion and a seven-time World Champion Button says his belief and ability makes him as good as them both.

"The Michael Schumachers of this world, Fernando Alonso, Kimi Raikkonen - personally I think I can do a better job than all of them.

:ermm::D ... he's better than all of them? :laughing-smiley-014:

The guy has obviously started smoking crack off a spoon. Wheres the podiums, race wins, overtaking moves, quali performances and did i mention RACE WINS to back up this statement?!? So its true, ALL honda drivers think they're king of the road dont they?

breaking news... Williams signed up for Toyota engines apparently for the next couple of years. The official announcement will be at the Canadian GP in a couple months.

If your a Williams fan this is pretty good news for a couple reasons. Obviously Toyota will build better engines cause they're in it for the long run and im sure that'll throw some sponsors their way... Williams cant just rely on high profile drivers paying their way out of contracts every year!!

You see, i think that is terrible news. Cosworth build a good reliable V10. And trhey have built a cracker fo a V8...and Williams no whave to rely on Toyota to build them customer engines.

I really hope this is wrong

I think in the long run its a better move for Williams... Yes Cosworth is doing a good job now... but what about years from now? Toyota will be pushing as hard as ever to win world titles whereas Cosworth is just a supplier without the bottomless pockets to keep on developing a relatively new breed of engine.

And like i said... i still think moving in with Toyota comes with a few more incentives... sponsorship and $$$ wise for Williams... old franky boy isnt stupid. He has no doubt got his reasons for the move

I think it is good news.

Toyota is in F1 to prove that their product is better (which at the moment it isnt) and I don't think they will stop until they have proved this point.

Cosworth are just their to make up the numbers.

I think Webber needs to get out, to much change within the Williams team over the past few years and upcoming years.

Im in agreement. Its just another change for next yuear that Williams have to design around. Thbey need a few seasons with teh same drivers, same engineers, same engine suppliers etc etc.

So this just measn they will have to go through another learning phase with Toyota. And will sit back and wait to see the agreement. I cant see Toyota beign happy about Williams Toyota beating Toyota, so wauts to see if they get the current spec engine. In the modern era of F1 how many teams have had sucess with cutomer engines from a manufacturer who were also running in F1.

The only thing is the Toyota V8s looks reliable, but hey so is the Cosworth and its beating the Toyota at the moment.

I think that Frank Williams and his team will have considered in depth all the pros and cons on this deal and i can not see Frank making a decision that will compromise his teams long term future. Also the Cosworth engine seems to be a good one and we hear that it is but how do we know? Yes there have been some good results but there is only a 50% finishing rate for GP's this year. Granted a majority of them have been more likely to be williams faults rather than cosworth, but what is to say that williams are pushing really hard to get that few tenths extra that the engine is lacking.

In truth we just do not know, so i guess at this stage we will have to trust that williams did the right thing.

Besides with the engine development freeze coming i reckon toyota are going to be some serious development!!! Well i hope anyway!

i tell you what if they go ahead with this engine freeze... my passion for this sport is going to drop dramatically. I hate you Max, i really hate you... fcuk off and die already you senile old prick.

And i see its a Renault, Ferrari duel once more... still think schumi will come out on top cause of all his new tyres that Massa had to sacrifice

.... you little bitch Massa

    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
