that will work well .... kinda on the laggier side with the .81 with a big kic in the pants comming on.... from what i am led to believe rear A/R is determined by inlet and engine capacity to be able to spool up at different times or give more HP depending on the A/r rating...

a .9 would give more hp but spool up much slower

a .7 would spool much quicker but less peak hp

smaller rear exhaust housing will allow much faster spool up, being a relatively large turbo. My suggestion is to go with a IHI/Apexi AX6 turbo, im running one on my 33 RB27DET and its awesome, spools up early full boost easily by 4 or less and cranks till 9,000rpm or more its a fun turbo to have and u wouldnt regret it, but same thing applies, a smaller rear exhaust housing and itl b crazy..mines larger but i got heaps of engine work

My engine currently has a HKS 2835 pro s with a tomei 270 procams and a full bottom end, so I figure I've got the hardware, may as well get a turbo to match it. The hks t04z apparently also comes ian 0.61 housing, does anyone have an idea on start spool rpm and full boost rpm? What hp is a Rx6 rated for?

We have a fully built RB25/TO4-Z (HKS) combo due for completion very soon. Engine is done just waiting on cams and injectors to arrive from the land of the rising sun. We have gone with a 0.81 rear housing as the owner is a bit of a power junkie and top-end punch is what he's after. Will keep you posted with our results. The old engine had a GT3040 (garrett) hanging off the side of it.

My engine with a tune from japan currenlty has a rev limit of approx 8,000rpm, so I'm hoping that should widen the power band a bit. I've already got solid lifters and valve springs so I can't see why this can't be extened another 500 rpm or so. DiRTgarage I'd be very keen to see how that car performs, if you could keep us psoted that would be tops.

    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
