hahaha yeah this is funny. I think ylwgtr2 knows alot more than you dan, so just shut up and stop digging yourself in deeper crap then your in.

For 2k they would probably shit in a bucket, put it through the spray gun and paint your car with it. No way you will get a quality paint job for the low rediculous price.

When i bought my car i was giving it a wash with the high pressure cleaner. The paint from my sideskirt got stripped off. Obviously the previous owner decided to get a shit paint job on the sideskirts. Thats what you will get.

Anyways, goodluck with getting a paintjob, just dont be asking here 2 months where to get another paint job when your paint has water marks and starts fading.

your opinion can be expressed, thats the reasons for discussion forums existing, but please act civilised and stop asking people to shut up....and at what point did u get the impression that i wanted to get a paintjob done? cuz i got it done over a year ago n wuz jus sayin that the job was done well n for a bargain.

n for your information i do not depend on this forum to get anything done, it is just a place to have a discussion and get insight into other peoples views and experiences. Please do not tell me what to do, cuz I do not believe u own this forum.

I know a place that will respray your car (any colour) including door jams and boot for $1500. This includes sanding down your old paint (not to metal), filling dints, primer, base coat and clear. But, you certainly get what you pay for. From memory, paint is Motospray (or worse). Expect a few runs, dust marks, etc.. But overall, it isn't that bad. If you do a cheap car like a Silvia in say, white, it will look quite good. This is in the Western Suburbs though.

i act civil to people that actually have some reputation on this forum an not for someone who has been here for 4 months and thinks he knows all.

i may have joined the forum after you guys but that does not mean I was born 4 months ago....or that i have been using cars since of late....

I do not know all, but would be straight forward and as why it is done in a certain way if it sounds unnessary....am not going to jump on the band wagon and go okay, this guy has painted his car or he is a pro, so believe all that he says and agree...

I said what my experience was, the reply to that was "Bullshit", so I asked him if he is a pro or has sprayed his own car. When he gave me a break down, it was not clear to me why he was using certain materials in excess quantity, which from my experiences, I thought was unnecessary. His reply to that was something about the body kit being sprayed.

I have had many experiences with quotation break downs claiming unnessary quantities of materials, when actually they do not use the claimed amount but are just trying to rip u off......

when i meant stripped, i did not mean to bear metal....that is not usually done on a car which has a good body without rust. I meant taking all the panels n windshield, etc. off....

I would not be using the current car I have for more than 3 years, so a decent job for about 2k is reasonable to me. :D

ok then.. you 2 are just like dezz and nate.. so will this ever end.? i think i poll is in order.

So if anyone else can recomend a good shop that would b helpfull..!

corrections have been made to this post as requested by master dezz

yeah nah i think i will leave it black... can he flare my front guards...? coz im getting sick of my tyre scrub... yeah can you get me a quote for that shit mentioned in the first post... how much did it come to,, to do all that shit.?

Oh man this thread is gold.....someone telling ylwgtr2 how to charge for a paint job???!!! :P

Yeh, i walked in with my quote from another shop, and he has promised to beat it.....or was that beat me <_<

You get what you pay for, and paint like wheels etc is a pretty big part of a car loking good....just be careful not to bin your newly sprayed car at Sandown :) (crosses fingers)

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
