Vic Reg Of An Interstate Modified Car

Recommended Posts

technically it doesnt matter how modified it is...as far as i'm aware you'd just need to get it roadworthied in victoria, then take it to vic roads to be registered for the first time....

technically speaking if you know someone in the industry that does RWC's, you could do it without too much trouble....but by the sounds of the car you mentioned it'd probably be quite un roadworthy and therefore what i mentioned above would be illegal and definitely not advised :)

even if you get a roadworthy

if you're unlucky, the vic roads guys will check the car, and if youre even unluckier, they will know about imports and modifications

you'd have to be pretty unlucky...the guys that did mine (there were 2 as i had to go back on 2 occasions because of a wanker writing a RWC wrong) said that 95% of the cars they check were skylines....then he asked if it was turbo etc...purely out of interest.

they checked the engine number, build plate etc, handed over the cash, gave me my plates and drove home....

they're VERY thorough with the RWC itself...all the numbers have to be perfect etc....so double check all that to save yourself any hassle

Anywhere doing a legit RWC wont pass a modified car unless it comes with an engineers for mechanical mods.

EPA ones are just a flat out no-no.

Good luck, sometimes you will be able to, sometimes you wont.

Thats the gamble, then theres the fun if you get pulled over driving it later on :)

    • You'lll likely have to make do with R33 GTR for engine/tranny stuff, and Stagea for the body. I don't know that there's even been an actual diagram seen in the wild.
    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
