97r33gtst-typeM - they are still not common here in Australia.

silver gts-t - yeah something like those would be nice.

I'm not abo or arabic, I'm 6th generation aussie from 50/50 Irish and English blood. I will keep the nick so as to add to my online allure. :P

POOMBAH - Yeah it is good. Sometimes I wish I could stretch it about 3-4cm down without wrecking the lines.

Maxx - I've never seen series two in the flesh. In some pics it looks great, in others awful.

JUNR34 - The factory eyelids are the way to go. Better than the aftermarket ones unless you have a black car with CF bonnet and CF eyelids like E-Lu-Shun.

That wing you are referring to is the Altia wing and is ugly as. When you take off the side sections they leave dirty great big holes in the rear quarters too.

dam that carbon bonnet looks good. im after the same nismo style one but cant find one anywhere, and the eyelids in cf too.

ohh and abobob ur 34 looks great.

Troy that story does not get published on the forums.

The mechanic who took it for the pink slip test drive bottomed it out but I don't. I raised the cooler while the car was out of action so it went up an inch and the car came down an inch.

I modified the front bar a little with help from 666dan.

My rims are cheap and nasty but I would love some nice black 18's. (maybe like these ones http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...owtopic=106464) or better still some nismo lmgt4 or whatever they are called - I'm not very good with the names. Just don't have the cash atm.

abobob

do you have any close up pics of the lower lip of the front bar(where it says SKYLINE)? did you fill the holes after you cut that section out?

thanks

Most of my paint job is less than 2 years old. That helps. Also I give it a full wax twice a year and spot polish it during the year.

I don't think I've got any pics of that bit sorry but no I didn't full the holes. I've been meaning to but haven't got around to it and nobody notices it unless they go looking for it.

i have to say at first i didnt like 4 door skylines but i was pondering about it the other day and i think im almost converted.

talk about practical! you get the best of both worlds

but i really dont like 4door r33's whats the deal with there rear lights, some of them look so unco

    • Wife wanted basket things in the wardrobe in our temporary house. Thought about ripping our the wardrobe and fitting the entire IKEA set, but it's a temporary house and we want to move in a few years. So IKEA advertises this as a 50cm unit, however the actually basket and rails measure 46cm wide. Only issue was depth, IKEA stuff is quite deep, where as the builder special junk is super shallow at less than 40cm. Send it, chopped the rails, then offset the mounting holes, job done, happy wife, less shit scattered all over the bedroom. Did the same to the other side too. Also drove the Skyline shit box today, dropped off oil at Supercheap Auto. I didn't realise they only now take max 2x bottles per visit. I visited 2x Supercheap Autos.
    • I've seen similar actually in my situation. You never know what tables are attempted to be used when the car thinks it's -99C or +200C. The fail state is not usually that extreme but you know what I mean - it was in my case though! This is where being able to read all the sensors is useful cause you see this stuff really quickly.
    • The above is very important. However as long as you keep timing relatively low, it's plausible to make your own knock ears and plausible to learn to tune with a modern ECU that can do wideband O2 correction like a boost controller. I mean if you only have one viable road to even drive the car on, learning to tinker to this level may be worth doing given you can't do much else with the car...?
    • I find the fact that the rear plate has to be bent inwards at the rear not so bad: but the front is just awful: It's like come on. (these are my very old, now retired/turned in plates) TBH it is a lot of money to fix a minor issue, the fact I said "I'll never really spend the money on doing this" is why people ended up buying them as a gift for a 'car guy' who can be hard to shop for.. for car guy things.
    • I just bent the ends of my premo plates. It even went through Regency like that after the engine conversion and the inspector (a great bloke!) just squinted his eyes and said "I didn't see that". Plates, and how they look, are just something that have zero importance to me.
