The thing i always find it funny on here is people say, "its federal law, and its illegal" but how many people's car break the laws here, or break the laws in their cars.. i dont think anyone could say they dont.

Most of us obey the spirit of the law, even if they don't always manage to match the letter of the law.

Emissions laws are there to protect the environment - while its one thing to run the car a bit less fuel efficiently to chase more power so it produces more carbon dioxide, its something else entirely to dump poisonous chemicals directly into the air. Its even worse since its a street car, and so there are innocent people breathing in that shit.

yea i was planning on installing a bov onto my car...

the gfb bovus maximus but it seems that the ssqbov is pretty popular

once i install my 3" turboback exhaust i will plumback the screamer pipe

jus wanted to have some fun with some noise

Here is a video of [M SPEC]'s 33, with an internally gated HKS 2535.

This link will expire in 7 days.

:P

No, that car does not have an Internally gated 2535 at all... please make sure you dont post misleading stuff about someone else's car.

The turbo at the time was modded to remove the int gate to run a bigger external gate.

The turbo has since died (at calder) and is being replaced with a 3037

You've never done a burnout thats made smoke for "innocent" people to breathe in before? Im not having a go at you, but if anyone gets a wiff of your gas after your external gate has opened, its hardly going to harm them..

  • 2 years later...
does anyone have any sound or video clips or screamer pipes?

i dunno bout screamer pipes but see if you like this, its 3 inch straight out the side. infront of the rear wheel.

http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=C4pm7OvTqco

awww.. so no vids? ive never heard one i dont think.

Jago, have you tried Putfile, rapidshare, google vids, etc?

you can put a screamer on an external gate cant you?
You could argue that you never drive on full boost on the street, so since the wastegate is always shut, then its not illegal at all???
if i were to install a screamer pipe... is it possible to install a bov?

just curious because of planning on buying one soon... but i thought that it wouldnt be no use since the screamer pipe already vents the gases from the wastegate??? that true???

ive always had a screamer on my car. with the factory turbo and with the new gt3540.

they obviously sound alot better on a bigger turbo with a ext gate.

but they still sound great on a factory turbo imho.

ill upload a few youtube vids for you to see.

who ever said they lost power putting a screamer pipe on is a bit weird. the idea of a screamer pipe is to releave back pressure which = better performance. how much is debatable. if your losing power get a retune.

a screamer pipe will only open wen the wastegate opens. on factory setups this can be quite random as they tend to open earlier when they are suppose to.

the theoretical process of a properly set up screamer pipe. will only open at FULL BOOST. if you have your car set to 2psi. it will open at 2psi. same as 10 or 20psi.

i have a 60mm ext gate and only opens at 15PSI. so i pretty much have total control of when i want to gate ppl.

to give u an idea of wat a car sounds like with a screamer/ext venting gate

i know alot of people are against these things, and i sorta feel bad for all the greenies out there wen i plant by foot. but in all honesty. nothing beats drowning out a V8 and pulling away leaving him to eat dust. on the track of course....................... :D

heres a story of how poo they really are, i had mine put on monday, spent 520 bucks on the whole set up, including modifying the front pipe to suit it, 3 days later, its coming off to make way for a one peice front/dump pipe costing me another 550 bucks.

dont get it mate, you will find it willl leak a hell of alot through the screamer itself, and sound like a tractor.

do it right the first time round and get a 3 inch turbo back :D

people who complain about a screamer pipe leaking hasnt got a properly made screamer pipe.

your suppose to separate the wastegate side from the exhaust side. that way when exhaust gasses pass through normally you dont get a leaking noise. and wen the gate opens. you get the scream.

honestly anyone out there who wants a properly made Screamer Pipe made for a factory Internally Gated set up PM me ill shoot u the guy who makes em.

they dont leak

they sound great

its highly illegal.

and unlike a few....i do have 1st hand experience

:O

it must be.. with retards replying to 2 year old threads..

oh wait.. you did that didn't you?

If youre not retarded and you could read you would see that it was 'Trouble' and not 'nizmonut' - they are actually 2 different forum names.

the fact that you can't understand how my comment was related to ANYONE who replied to posts from 2006 puts you down as the teamleader of the retard group.

congrats on the promotion Femno.

Just in case that didn't make sense to you, your husband "ALSO" replied to a post from 2006. he just decided that my amature comedy was to be pulled up.

    • Nah, OEM washer bottle and brake fluid reservoirs are fine I don't know what it is with the plastic that Mazda used, some plastics, like the washer bottle and brake fluid res are fine, and still look new after 20 years use, where as the coolant expansion tank, and PS reservoir, that I replaced with new OEM items when I first got the car, turned yellow and started getting brittle a few years later If the dirty yellow stained plastics didn't trigger me there wouldn't be an issue, but they did, much like the battery bracket....... Meh As for going back to work full time to support car stuff, nope, why, because I own a Mazda NC MX5, not a Nissan R series Skyline 🤣
    • I've never heard of CJ-motor, so can't advise you on them. I'd just go straight to GCG for a GCG highflow though. Seems no point to use a middleman. I'm somewhat surprised that the price on the CJ site is lower than the GCG retail price. Even though CJ would get a discount of some sort, you would hardly expect them to give up so much margin. Maybe the price is out of date? Having said that "I'd go to GCG"...when I did my highflow, I went to Hypergear. I did this https://hypergearturbos.com/product/rb25dethighflow/#tab-dyno-results with the R34 OP6 450HP profile. With the BB centre (extra $400) and intially with the standard boost actuator, but I eventually got him to send me the high pressure one when I got to the point of being able to actually use it. Ends up costing the same sort of money as the GCG highflow, but this is, of course, the turbo that I KNOW has a shorter length core and so moves the comp cover rearwards. The GCG apparently doesn't do that. My mechanic also swears by the GCG highflow, given that we have another turbo rebuilder who does something essentialy the same as theirs, using Garrett wheels. He says it stands up at really low revs and makes good power. I haven't pushed my HG highflow past ~240-250rwkW yet (should have a little more in it, but unclear how much) and it does have a fairly gentle boost ramp. OK, it's much better now that I have gotten my boost controller tuned up on it.  A lot of my earlier unhappiness was because I couldn't keep the wastegate flap as closed as it needed to be (including some mechanical issues). I'd still prefer it to boost up nearly as quickly as the stocker, and it certainly a bit slower than that. So maybe the GCG one is worth the first look (for you).
    • Ok thanks 🙂 I will higly consider this. Any "known" company for a good reviews and experience to send that off? Is that CJ-motor good one? Or go straight to GCG site? I need to use VPN to even find some of those "shops" let alone access them 🙂
    • You can literally put in as much WMI as it takes to quench the combustion totally (and then back it off a little, obviously), and it will keep making more and more power. The power comes from the cooling effect of the water (and the meth) and the extra fuel (the meth, which also has massive octane). It is effectively exactly like running E85. One might be slightly better than the other, but they are damn close. But with either you can lean on the boost or the timing (or both) waaaay more than with just petrol and the results are similar. Here's the first thing I googled for an anecdotal bit of evidence. Can't access the attachment without being a gold member, but it is there for the getting if able to, or searched up elsewise perhaps. https://www.hpacademy.com/forum/general-tuning-discussion/show/wmi-vs-e85/
