The time has come again for the Australian Grand Prix and once again Skylines Australia has been invited to particpate.

Last year was 4 days of festivities for people who participated. Some drank, some slept, some watched the racing. The common factor of this though was that everyone had a ball!!!

This year, a number of members have entered their cars to be presented again in the AutoSalon outdoor display along with other car clubs and AutoSalon show cars.

The AutoSalon display will be along the back straight of Albert Park along Queens Road (Brock's Hill).

Come and show your support for SAU and come and say hi if you plan to come to the grand prix.

Come meet the members, check out the rides, stay and have a drink.

You never know what you may see.

no major issues today and all went well, all the cars are sorted and in a scissor criss cross type layout which looks smick. the plan c secret car is also in place and looks very spiffy and ready for anything. have plently of pics on my camera already. will post them on sunday. next to us are the ameircan hummer/chevrolet group with a hummer, some chev thing, a brand new latest model coverette and some other big thing with 32" RIMZ. also near us is nissansilvia. we even have a v35 skyline in our stand, very funky.

day 2:

the first open day of the grand prix. many hot laps and race cars fanging around the track. we had porshes in the morning, the speed challenege, v8 supercars and some old skool formula cars. the day included many drinks and funny antics. many of those included police photo poses, compress surge noises and fully sick mario talk. the only wrx in the event across from us was sporting some 11ty billion subs, neos, rims and rice interior (see pic). i took some 256 photos so far and they all came up great. many goons and shiny cars to look at, will post the pics up at the end of the event. leewah did a tv interview for autosalon and also al had some tv coverage on his car. tomorrow provides more antics, drinking and just kick ass fun at the autosalon grand prix. also present is a 383rwkw toyota soarer with a 2jz conversion with a nice gt3540 and a 550awkw gtr33

    • Have you done the Ignition Sync Wizard in the AEM software?
    • Find out what RPM it was idling at with the IACV unplugged. It's very weird that the rpm didn't change at all, and then it stalled. When it stalls is it nearly like a switch off, like you've turned the engine off? Or is it more stutters and sputters and coughs to death over a few seconds? Or does the RPM just slowly keep going down and down? Have you done a test of trying to start it with the AFM unplugged? Does it still die?     If you Follow Josh's advice on using Nistune to check the voltages (which is a perfect method!) if you see anything out of wack voltage wise, THEN get the multimeter out and read the voltage directly at the sensor. If the two vary, then you're now looking for a wiring issue vs a sensor issue. So be aware, what the ECU sees, may not be what the sensor is actually saying too...
    • You very likely need to get it on a dyno and tune it. My assumption is, you've got an RB25DET tune in it, which has a different manifold, different injectors, and different cams as a minimum. What O2 sensor are you running?   When you say it runs extremely rich from idle all the way to redline, is this just free revving it you see that?
    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
