hey

did you get any info on this - I'd like to do the same

The only option I can see is the ARC air box - but @ $500 - it's a little over the top $$ wise

hey guys got the pics at last,

they box isnt that thick but sure does the job!

the other night i put my hand inside it and it was a hot night and inside the box was cold i also have CAI

anyways good luck

I have my GTR with apexi pods sittin here, a pile of carbon fibre sittin here, and no dam time to make one up!! But i will in the next few weeks. Were making a few parts for skylines from carbon, and an air box for the GTR is getting higher and higher on the priority list! Will post on here once i get one done.

Adam.

i've run HKS pods, Apexi Pods, and an ARC box on my GTR. I'm now using the apexi pods. I'd love to box them up. Apexi actually sell a carbon box to suit Apexi pods on 33 GTR. It's an awesome looking box but it costs a shit load.

i would be interested in a carbon box.

The results of insulation, tape, 3mm aluminium and a couple of hours of cursing and beer........Blitz intakes and filters hide beneath. Cost me less than $20 and has reduced the intake temps (on pwr fc d jetro) considerably. I love DIY!

both those setups look good as........as long as they do the trick

if any one out there is gonna start producing a few of these things in either carbon fiber or alloy put me down for one that covers apexi filters

im too lazy to make one my self........

turned into quite a good little thread

Hey blue32, that carbon air duct thingy infront of the radiator looks awesome!!

I had an ARC box on my GTR, but tryed on some Apexi pods to see if there was any differnece, and i was shocked! car seemed to run much nicer, weird, and thats without a cold air box, so ill be very happy once i make a box! Once i make 1 it wont be as much effort to make duplicates. Will keep 'yal informed.

Adam

The biggest difference I've noticed is the car acts as if the ambient temp h dropped approx 10 degrees - so instead of driving in 30 deg heat and feeling sluggish and slow it now feels like it used to in 20deg heat. This alone is worth spending $20 and drinking beer for an afternoon.

chch34 - the carbon radiator guide is available from UAS. Apart from its primary job it also prevents tools from dropping behind the headlight when you are working on your car!!!:P

is the factory airbox with highflow filter & modded for a cold air feed really that much worse than pods??

I would think less than 5kW difference.

Totally agree, I have a standard air box with normal filter and no cold air mods and somehow managed 310 RWKW :D

Pods are for bling. :P

I'd love a box for my apexi's but I refuse to pay more than $100 in total for $5 worth of materials.

What materials would you use if you tried to make an airbox for less that $5? lol do you buy petrol? :O:D:D

Yea i think a factory airbox with good panel filter is great, as the factory air box is great for cold air. I wonder how a factory airbox with good panel filter would compare on a dyno to a similar airbox around some apexi (or similar) pods. Any one had any experience with a good airbox for pods? Would be interesting to see some dyno results...that havent been done by a filter company! lol
